New owners, different food. They say they can make the same thing as the old owners but taste nothing the same.

First off if I could give zero or negative stars this would deserve it! I come here every single Monday night, as I watch my boyfriend bowl in his league, so Monday’s I eat my dinner here at the café, my first experience here I waited 15 min and was not acknowledged once in that time, so I walked out and sat in my seat, about half an hour later I can back in the café and sat there for another 10 minutes before I was helped. After I was finally helped the gentlemen(owner/manager) was very rude, it seemed as if it was a hassle to take my order. But u ordered their chicken teriyaki bowl,(which was very delicious I must say) and I paid and was satisfied. The next week I came back, and ordered the same thing, it took 25 minutes before I was helped or even acknowledged, which was very frustrating, so I asked for the manager, well the guy who takes orders said he was the owner, so I told him the past 2 Monday’s I have waited a very long time to order and he got agitated, and started to tell me how busy he gets and a bunch of excuses, he proceeded to tell me he didn’t see me, which I saw him look my way a few times before he came up and greeted me, once I ordered I paid and was on my way, again the food was wonderful! So tonight I come in, and I wait 20 before I was acknowledged, again, very frustrating, if you added up the 3 times I have been here and my wait times it’s about an hour, which is unacceptable, so I ordered my usual, this time I asked for extra rice, and I accepted he charge, well the total came out to 11.39 $ and I counted out my money and change and I had 11.36, a 3 cent difference, I saw that there were some pennies in the tip jar and I politely asked if he could spare the 3 cents for me as I gave him all the money and change I had, he got very mad and threw my money back at me and told me he couldn’t do that, which if he would have just said«I’m sorry but I can’t» I would have went to my car and got the 3 cents, well as he told me no, another customer at the counter said he owed the owner 10 cents, and the owner told the customer to keep the 10 cents, but couldn’t help me out with 3 cents. As I walked out he mumbled something in his language(Chinese or Japanese) and I turned around and asked«what did you say» and he told me to leave the café, so I did, I proceeded to have my boyfriend go in and order my food, he was disrespectful to my boyfriend, and ultimately he will lose my business, but my boyfriend ordered and picked up the food and the rice was super dry and hard and the chicken was very cold, it was less than appetizing, needles to say I won’t be coming here ever again, a one time bad experience can ruin and customers point of view and business

I must update my review after today’s lunch. I have been eating here for many years and have always left feeling satisfied. I have never EVER had an issue with the food or service. I haven’t been here for a couple of months and when I came in today at lunch time it was obvious there have been changes. All new tables and chairs, new décor with a more«open» seating arrangcement and it looked a bit cleaner than before. No longer is there a menu on the register desk to order from but instead you take a seat and a server drops off a menu and takes your order. OKAY, not the Same Ol’ Place but the menu had the same items. I ordered a typical lunch of teriyaki beef with rice and a salad and as soon as the plate was set in front of me I noticed a difference. The beef was sliced about twice as thick as it normally is and there were many chunks on which the fat and curly gristle could be seen. The salad was now some kind of a frizzy green leaf, maybe arugula or something similar, instead of the traditional iceberg lettuce and there was no choice of dresing. It was some kind of homemade vinaigret — probably raspberry or something like it. The rice was the same as it always was. I can’t complain about the salad despite the change — it was tasty but I think I’d rather have a choice. The meat, on the other hand, was definitely inferior and was not pleasant to eat. The flavor was okay and it was cooked okay but it was THE toughest meat I have ever had. About half the chunks were so gristly and fatty that they could not be chewed down to a piece I could swallow. So I finished the meal thinking that the place has been«upgraded» but the food took a hit. I’m thinking the owners have changed their policy to buy cheaper meat to make their profits higher. This doesn’t seem like something they would do because they have never attempted this all the time I have been coming here. So I asked the server if there were new owners and he told me «Yes — all new owners.» That explains it — they have spent money sprucing the place up and adding a bit of class but they are attempting to save money by buying and using cheasper meat. It was too much of a letdown for me. I’m going to give this place one more try in a couple of weeks and see if the food has improved. I hope it does because this has always been the best teriyaki beef in the area. If they are serving the same gnarly, gristly, unchewable stuff as they served today then I’ll be done. Too Bad. I must give them credit for the cleanliness, the new décor and the GREAT service from a very friendly staff, but I need good food as well.

This is by far without a doubt one of the best cafés I’ve ever been to in a bowling alley. There teriyaki chicken bowl is out of this world. The prices are amazing the people are friendly. I will be trying the other items in the weeks to come!

I’ve been going to Paddock Bowl for years and next time I bowl there I’ll give it a review but this weekend I met a friend at the bar and grabbed a Burger and fries at the café. Of all the traditional bowling ally’s I’ve been to this is the best food I’ve ever had at one. The people who run the place are super friendly and will bring you the food even if you insist on coming to pick it up yourself. They are quick and to the point but they are efficient. The food itself was well made. Now it’s not going to win you a burger competition but if you’re looking for a cheap solid burger while you’re in the area they are fantastic, especially for the price. If you’re gambling across the street I suggest you eat here rather than at the casino restaurant. If I’m every playing poker at the casino or bowling at Paddock I will have no problem hitting up this café. The bar is fantastic too in a charming divey sort of way. I’m sure I’ll find the place to review that too soon.

I’ve had burgers, fries, catfish, and the teriyaki chicken bowl. Food wise, this place is 5 stars! The food has never disappointed. The reason they are only getting 2 stars is the way they treated my brother. My family and I(2 adult men, 3 adult women, and a 15 year old) were bowling and decided to eat while we were there. One of my brothers had a horrible experience while ordering and being served. Mind you, he has facial piercings and facial hair, but that is no reason to judge him and treat him badly. The rest of our family had no issue ordering and being served our food quickly and efficiently. My brother on the other hand was told not to come back and had to wait two to three times as long as we did after ordering the exact same food. He and his girlfriend were polite and never ever gave them a reason to be negative toward them. I was standing there as this all happened. It seems like the were being prejudicial toward him and that is not the way businesses should be ran.

This place is great. For the longest time I didn’t even know that it wasn’t just part of the bowling alley. It didn’t even occur to me that they served outside customers directly, and that they do take-out orders. This place cooks one of the best bacon cheeseburgers around. The bacon is a little weenie but as a package the burger is just phenomenal and cooked perfectly. They also serve corn dogs, cooked to the perfect crispiness. For side dishes I’ve tried the cheese sticks, the onion rings, and the french fries. All of those were also cooked just the right amount and really tasted great. The great food(reliably great), combined with the reasonable prices and friendly attitude really puts this at the top of my list. It’s amazing to me that a little café like this can cook food that bests most full-size restaurants in the area. This place is a real hidden treasure.
