This place is a newer facility. Its like DMV to take number. I waited 40 minutes with only three people in front of me at the help desk. This is where they make you start.
But when it is your turn they are very nice and helpful explaining the proper procedures and documents you will need.

Contra Costa County residents in need of help in filling out forms related to family law can come here for free help. The attorneys are not your attorney and they may not offer legal advice! But they will tell you which form you need for your situation (divorce, custody, motion to modify court order, etc).
It’s first come, first serve, so I advise you to come early and bring a book. The attorneys spent quite a bit of time with the clients before me, I’d say up to ½ hr for some, so I’d say they are giving quality advice and not just trying to get you out the door.
Also, there is no privacy and nothing is confidential. The attorney meets with you in the waiting area.
