Both my 14 year old son and I just had our hair done by the amazing Rachel Martines at Studio Triskellion. Rachel is the very best, skilled both at helping our 14 year old find the latest, coolest cut(not to mention a little fun color work …) along with a lovely salon afternoon of getting me out of my suburban mom/Realtor hair rut into something a little jazzier and more fun with color and a style. Can’t imagine going anywhere else in the future — definitely recommend!!!

Just seconding other reviewers’ feedback on Kelley Neil. She’s great with haircuts and color, listens to what you want/need, and delivers a great look at a fraction of what I’ve paid in SF. The shop’s energy won’t be for everyone as it’s informal and chatty, but I really love the work Kelley does on my hair and have gone back to her for my hair for years. My teenage daughters still go to her, too, and love the results consistently.

I found Studio Triskellion while strolling Main Street — I was instantly drawn to the window which displays the lovely triple spiral found at Newgrange(an ancient neolithic tomb) in Ireland. When I finally went in to get my hair done by Kelley Neil, I was completely amazed by her(both her gorgeous spirit and outstanding capability). She really listened to what I wanted and she did an incredible job creating very natural color/highlights that lasted for a long time with minimal noticeable grow-out lines. This is a wonderful place — great staff and amazing value(prices are a fraction of what I used to pay in SF).

This is the only place I go to get my hair touched. The staff here is warm, friendly, and fun. And there is always a beautiful seasonal display in the window. Downtown Martinez could use more of this wonderful energy.

Well, I would’ve liked to have made an appointment at this salon based off the majority of the reviews but was unable to do so. Tried calling 4 times at different points of the day. Sometimes a couple of times during the same hour. No one answers the phone. Cool. Not. Its called a receptionist. Why should I have to leave my name and number and have you call me back at an inconvenient time for me? Sorry, thats b.s. Answer your phone ladies.

Kelley N. is a goddess of great color! Her prices are very reasonable(especially compared to some of the salons in downtown Walnut Creek) and she always does a wonderful job at highlighting/lowlighting, etc. She also did a CHI straightening on my slightly frizzy hair and it was great. I highly recommend Kelley at Studio Triskellion!

Ugh, ugh, ugh. I got the worst cut of my life here. The woman was very nice and I really enjoyed talking with her, which makes me feel bad for not going back, but the cut was simply awful. It was longer on one side than the other, choppy and no matter what I tried to do to style it, looked like crap. It laid completely flat on my head except for the stray bits that would stick up funny, making me look like the cat lady from The Simpsons. It also had the unusual appearance of making it look like I was wearing a wig, I’m guessing because my hair was thinned out so badly. I honestly can’t even describe the horrible-ness that was this haircut. Since it looked okay when I left, I happily paid and tipped, and believe me – this place is severely overpriced for its Supercuts quality. If you love your hair… don’t go here.

I just moved back to the bay area last summer and desperately needed to find a place to get my hair done. Finding a new stylist after you move is always a little trying, but I had a good feeling about this salon from the name alone.(I have a triskellion tattooed behind my ear.) I got an appointment with Kelly Neil, who immediately recognized from my tattoo that her salon was where I needed to be. Kelly’s been cutting my hair ever since and dying it a variety of gorgeous shades of red, from the dark cherry-chocolate color I had last fall to the golden red I currently sport. She’s also great at thinning out my obscenely thick hair so that it lays and moves like normal hair should. The salon is also a really comfortable environment filled with friendly people, and always has a bowl of candy and copius gossip rags.

I love Candice. She does a great highlight and she’s a whiz with the scissors. Why go anywhere else?
