Food good! Kind of a greasy spoon! Very old restaurant! Needs a deep cleaning. Pies are great!

We went here a couple days ago, and even despite some of the reviews we had a very pleasant experience. You can tell that the restaurant has been established for quite some time, the atmosphere is okay. There wait staff is extremely enthusiastic, and friendly. The price of food wasn’t too bad I have seen worse, and the taste was good. The restaurant kind of reminded me of a mom and Pop’s restaurant. I would recommend this place to anyone passing through Marysville, or who lives there. If we go through Marysville again I definitely would be stopping by.

I have stopped here several tines, when I am driving north. Food is always decent. No surprises. It is the typical roadside exit diner. I having ham and chedder omelet with home fries. The potatos are some the best I have had. Nice big chunks of ham in the omelet. You won’t leave hungry.

My very first restaurant review. Unfortunately I have been driven to write this as it was the worst service experience ever and I felt bad that we did not tip a penny(first time ever! We usually tip 20%). So. If the server, Jessica, happens to read this, maybe she’ll understand that we weren’t cheap, just very unhappy. It was almost a month ago, my husband and I stopped in for breakfast one morning(had never been there before) first of all, we waited at the entrance to be seated by the hostess/reception person. While waiting, another patron arrived. When she came over, she acknowledged the other fellow. And got us to move so she could take him to his regular seat. Really? How rude. Then she came back, sat us down with a menu. We waited. And waited. Saw her seat many more people, bring them water and menus. Meanwhile Jessica was talking to a table of obvious regular customers. They talked and talked. All a very personal conversation — which everyone could hear everything as she was very loud. The hostess went by us again. We said, excuse me, could we get some water and order? She said, I“ll bring the water but I’m not a waitress. Then she went to e waitress and whispered to her. The waitress looked at us, none too happily. Another almost 5 minutes goes by and she finally comes for our order. No apology that we had already been there almost 15 minutes. Anyway, food arrives… Mine was good however, my husbands was a little dry and he would have liked to ask for some gravy. After Jessica dropped off our plates, she disappeared from the restaurant not to be seen again while we ate. No checking to see if all was ok or anything. We had to track her down to get the bill and then, she took it away with our credit card and didn’t return before. Going back into the kitchen. Cleaning a few tables and chatting with a few other people. So… Zero tip for Jessica. She really needs to be in a different line of work! Shame on her and management for not seeing that this was happening.

Eek. Every time I’ve come in here, I’ve been disappointed. First experience was with a 10 $ BLT. Microwavable bacon? :-X what the hell? & only three thin pieces hidden between two hardened-by-age, thick, stale pieces of bread, iceberg lettuce chunk & two slices of tomato. That was enough for me. Zero stars, dirty bathrooms, horrible service. Yuck. But, one day, we decide to give it another shot. It’d been about a year and that was only one meal.. Terrible idea! No cod in my fish and chips. I swear I pulled off a pencil thin slice of cod out of 2 inch thick breading. I was so unhappy with that since it took about 1& ½ hours. Prices are OUTRAGEOUS !! The third most recent experience, we went there to eat with some family. Took 15 mins to take our very simple orders.(4 French dip sammiches) Needed a refill of water about 5 – 10 mins in. Had to flag down a waitress to take our order. They pay you no attention. 30 mins. Later food arrived. Never refilled our drinks. Very slow service. Ranch is tasty though.

Nope. Traveling through and needed to stop for food. For such an amazing location you’d think they would at least make an effort to update the place. The food was nearly unbearable. Might as well have walked across the street to Jack in the Box for«better» food! The staff was disengaged, slow, and never once smiled. Next time I’ll just keep driving!

My parents use to always go here and said how it was the best little dive. My parents and I went in it was dirty, bad service even though it was empty, the food was flavorless.

The pies here are usually great, but a coworker just bought a berry pie, we cut it open, and it was moldy! Gross! Don’t they date them? I won’t buy a pie here in the future.

So I’ve been here for lunch in the past and it was ok. Burgers and fries are average. However-today is Father’s day and we thought we’d stop in for brunch. BIG MiSTAKE! As I’m typing this I feel sick. They had the ever so popular brunch buffet with all the normal stuff-hash browns, bacon, eggs benedict etc. But their buffet station wasn’t heated well so most the food was cold. It didn’t seem like the steam table was actually turned on. An e-coli and listeria paradise. The quality of the food was microwavable-seriously. The corned beef and hash was from a can, the bacon was facon bacon, you know, the kind you microwave? Along with the sausage. Well at least the coffee was good right? Wrong! Even the coffee was full of grounds. I am so disappointed. I really hope a manager sees this because we wanted to get the managers attention but we were never asked how things were going.

About a year ago, we were new in town and saw an ad that said, «voted best pies». We always like good pie, so we took a chance. Upon entering, we felt we were in a retirement home. Service was somewhat friendly, but somewhat slow. The food tasted like it came from a cafeteria – not very good. The pie… it tasted like a frozen pie shell with puréed fruit – hard and lacking flavor, hardly the best anything. Very disappointed and will not go back. Welcome to the Marysville area. Very few choices of good service and good food, and this was one of the poorest.

We stopped in for lunch today and saw the parking lot was full of «retirees» so you know this café is going to be good! I ordered the carved turkey sandwich with coleslaw and my husband ordered the daily special mini meatball sandwiches with a side salad. Next time we come I think I’d rather have the meatball sandwich — it looked SO good! The wait staff was very friendly, attentive and genuinely cared how our meal was. The check-in Unilocal coupon came up great and was easy to use. Great deal! My husband wants to come back soon for the bumbleberry pie!

As delicious as the food looks, three of the four of us got food poisoning. It was Monday morning, we came in ordered Eggs Benedict, Breakfast Monte Cristo Sandwich, Strawberry Creps, and Ham & Eggs. The effects were felt within the hour. My partner was sick on a 6 hour flight home. My mom was so sick she had dry heaves all night, missed a day of work and had to see the doctor the next day. She’s still out sick and it’s been three days. This was a childhood favorite, but not anymore. Be cautious of who is cooking that day. I sent two emails to with no response. My next steps are to contact the health department. It’s that bad.

I’ve experienced both in house eating and take home pies with the Village. Their food… what I’ve had, is pretty good. Typical diner food. Nothing too fancy, but it does the trick. Now… their PIES are too die for! YUM! I’ve had the Chocolate turtle pecan(I think that’s what they call it) and the peanut butter banana pie… both super yummy! If you’re not a fan of the restaurant then just go in a buy a pie… you won’t regret it! :)

THEDISCOUNTCOUPONEXPIREDIN2012! Also, It seemed like the waitresses were in such a rush to get us out the door. The food was bland and their sausage was undercooked. I will not be going back anytime soon.

Don’t waste your time here. Everything is overpriced and bland. I got the meatloaf, it was cold and covered in ketchup and my wife got the chili and cornbread and again, bland and cold. They actually advertise that they make kraft Mac and cheese for kids. Seriously, how hard is it to make your own mac n cheese? When I can make something better myself at home, that is a problem. I wanted some pie, but after a 38 dollar bill just for gross dinner I couldn’t bring myself to spending $ 4.29 for a slice of pie. Apparently the lounge is cool though since it was so loud you could hear it in the restaurant.
