Mascoutah Steak House

Food was delicious, tortellini soup was awesome! We had a bit of a wait, but they took care of us. They run out of the desserts, so come early. There is an attached bar, so it can be a bit noisy with some traffic back and forth. I would recommend!

After a fall through from the Spaghetti Factory in the Landing, Mascoutah Steak House was on our list for an alternate location for my husbands birthday dinner. I am so glad that this came out as number one.
It was so important (and really my husbands only wish) for my both sides of his family come together and celebrate his birthday. And with a party of our size (about 30) we knew it was going to be a difficult task to get us all together.
Mascoutah Steak House was beyond accommodating with our needs. We opted to tailor down the menu to only a few selections — one of which had to be the steak gorgonzola.
I can not say a bad thing about their steak gorgonzola. Their plating was huge. Their gorgonzola cream sauce was perfection and their steak were bite sized pieces of heaven. I wish I took a photo of this perfection. Next time I return, I will for sure. But their food was amazing — especially for that price, if we lived there we would be regulars at this place.
I do have to give props to our amazing servers, John and Parissa. They were so nice to our family, it felt as if they were part of it! They certainly didn’t miss a beat, seat changes and all.
For our family events, Mascoutah can defiantly expect our return in the future.

Service is great — food is phenomenal– great ambiance– it’s a bit of a drive for us but well worth the effort. Never had a meal that disappointed us. Monday nights are all you can eat crab legs. Prime rib on the weekends melt in your mouth!!! Highly recommend this place whether you’re looking for beef, chicken, pork or a salad!!!

…Portuguese steak? What was Portuguese about that steak? I was pretty excited to try this place and looked forward to a decent steak. That’s NOT what I got tonight. The menu talks about port wine reduction garlic and more, and a fried egg. That’s what hooked me I’m a sucker for a good fried egg on things. I paid over $ 20 for a piece of meat that at best was worth $ 9.95. NO POTT WINE REDUX. Sloppy egg. The steak was swimming in something tasteless — doubt if was clarified butter. A few pieces of garlic on top, and that was it.
Fried chicken was GOOD. Veg and salad was blahh. Soup was so so. Sad to say I wouldn’t go out of my way to visit again.

Had the Portuguese steak. Boyfriend had the Mediterranean steak. Eating here was an excellent life choice.

What a wonderful surprise! Service was excellent, food was excellent, dessert was AMAZING!!! Since we’re traveling cross country we didn’t really know what to expect. It’s off the beaten path but well worth the trip.

From the Steak to the chop to the homemade bread!!! Winner All the way! Service was top-​notch and the Tortellini and Potato soups were hot and tasty.

Great experience! Had family in town and showed up half hour before they close and it was no problem. The sever was great and she even joked about our accents being from the south. The drinks come served in main jars and they have Ski soda, a plus! I had a nice grilled Kansas City 12oz strip and was too good seasoned to add any kind of sauce. Will definitely go back again now that we are new Mascoutah residents.

Great restaurant. Very diverse menu with almost every meal coming with soup and salad bar. There’s a lot of support from locals and it is a very comfortable place to eat.

Met friends there for Friday night fish. Everything came cold. Fish over cooked, baked potatoes and veggie cold. Very disappointing. Salad bar was ok.

Soup and salad cant go wrong. Everything else was disappointing. Standards have been declining the last few times we’ve been there. Done giving it another chance.

Had a 16ox ribeye, green beans, soup & salad bar. Steak was great and cooked just shy of requested medium rare which is fine by me. I think has replaced Tonys since I didn’t see a Tonys and there was a sign that said under new management. I try my best to stay away from chains. Always try to support the locals, you will rarely regret it!!!
