My favorite restaurant in Mason City! Growing up this was my birthday dinner of choice, a popular pick around New Years, and dinner always left my dad and I arguing over the last of the sides. The nicest of people own it. It’s got it’s own style, it’s in a converted house and I’m not sure the décor has changed much in my memory(I kind of like that). They have carry out so if your put off by the looks, get it to go and you’ll be glad you did. I moved out of Mason years ago, but my mom always gets bills ribs for a family dinner when I’m visiting.

I’m gonna go ahead and disagree that these are the best ribs in the country. They’re good, but not incredible — however, it’s worth trying just for the spectacle of going to a place that’s operated out of a converted house and where the ribs are made in a crock pot! Located back in a neighborhood across from some townhomes and next to a river, it’s not where I expected it to be, but it was nice to discover. Ribs were something like $ 13.99 for a half rack and as stated, they were not, just not blow your socks off good. Worth trying once and perhaps you’ll really dig the sauce.

The place is a little odd, but the ribs are fantastic. Cash only I believe.

Bill’s has the best ribs in the country! Seriously. The meat just falls from the bones, and the sauce is one-of-a-kind amazing. We’ve been repeat customers for years, and rarely miss an opportunity to stop in when we’re driving on I-35 on vacation. Didn’t get there this year since they were closed the night we were driving through town. It was a huge let down for everyone in the rental car! We’ll definitely be back next year though!
