Rude waitress. She had contempt for me. Told her about the obnoxious noise from the door. Went to the bathroom and upon my return found she cleared my table. To avoid a scene from her, I suggested that I can finish my meal at the Bar. I was told that this place was cheap. I know why. Do not recommend. Bill Gansemer 641425 7680.

A filling sation that turned into a small diner. Custom car décor with a small town feel. Mostly locals come here to enjoy the food and company of others. Seat yourself and enjoy the ambiance. Coffee is only 50 cents for all you can drink. I just came for the breakfast. Prices are really good. This place offers buttermilk pancakes, omlets, breakfast sanwiches, hash and more. I ordered the Ranchero omlet filled with onions, green peppers, mushrooms, cheese and corned beef. I actually asked if I could substatute the ham for corned beef instead. A bit of confusion at first for the waitress, but then she kindly made it work. The others in my party ordered the veggie omlets. Waiting time was about average. It took about 15 min to get served. Everything was hot and fresh. Tasted really good. Big servings too. The ketchup was a bit watered down however, but at least I had salsa with my order that went well with my omlet. If I ever get a chance to visit again… I’d like to try the corned beef hash.

One of the few breakfast joints in MC(that I found). You can read about the LD story which is nice. They have great breakfast and bloody mary’s, both for fairly cheap. The building isn’t very welcoming which prevented me from going for a few years, but as soon as I took the leap and went for my first time I subsequently went. Recommended for breakfast.

We’ve stopped in a few times and each visit has been excellent! The place is definitely on the divey end of things and has a car theme that runs throughout. It adds to the delightful ambiance of this greasy spoon spot. Everything on the menu is car themed with plenty for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Breakfast is definitely the strong suite and is available all day. The omelettes, chicken fried steak and corned beef hash are all worth trying. Prices here are great with most items ranging from$ 5.95−8.95. Go crazy and you’ll spend $ 11 on a meal that gets you some guaranteed leftovers. Brunch on the weekend is reportedly excellent and from the look of the Bloody Mary’s, I don’t doubt it. All in all, an excellent spot to grab a greasy spoon meal at a great price

We came here last night to have burgers but wasn’t sure it was open. The parking lot was empty and honestly the place was scary looking! We came back this morning for breakfast. I will update after we eat! Definitely worth the return! Breakfast was great! We are totally satisfied!

I was very hesitant to enter this strange building when I the saw the looks of it. But it was a Sunday and the hotel had recommended this place and there was nothing else open so I gave it a shot. I’m glad I did. The prices were good for the food and it was a happening place for breakfast. People were drinking beers and bloody marys and having a good time! Breakfast is breakfast, don’t expect something all gourmet or anything, just good old fashioned regular breakfast food.

If you want to get the best bang for your buck this is the place. Very large portions of home style cooked breakfast items. The outside surrounding area looks a little run down but don’t be fooled. Also very friendly down to earth staff.

I admit it. I judged this place for the bad location, bad name and scary looking exterior. The first time someone tried to take me there I flatly refused to get out of the car. I found out today I could have been enjoying some of the best greasy spoon diner food for years. PERFECT hash browns. Don’t make the mistake I did, go there.(The coffee is AWFUL so go somewhere else first for that– unless you like hints of burned coffee and soy sauce as a hot beverage.) I’m only vouching for breakfast at this point. I could be persuaded now to try Rib Night or Taco Night… maybe. Might have to psych up for that but breakfast is great.

We come once a year from Texas to work and visit friends. We ususally have breakfast there the day we leave. On this Saturday, they were pretty busy. The food was good. We usually have a bloody mary, but on this day we did not. They are usually good too. Nice friendly people, even tho they are so busy. The only concern, was the flies. I’m sure its hard to keep them away.

Beer/bloody Mary’s with breakfast, what could be better!!! It’s low market, value for money and perfect for breakfast.

I was tipped off to LD’s by a former employee and local who recommended this as «the place for breakfast in Mason City.» When I approached the place I was a little unnerved. It seemed like a dirty bar, with very few windows. The inside however is completely different from the exterior. Bright, cheerful and decked out in automotive items. This is quality food, served at astounding prices. I am giving a little more credit here because of the high value of what they serve. You get the perfectly portioned breakfast plate for $ 5.75. I had the«Rambler»(all items are named after automobiles) which was the corned beef hash with eggs. It was really good. A great hole in the wall place that I was so pleased to find with the help of a local friend.
