This place has gone to hell. Filthy. Out of everything. Did I say filthy!!! Don’t go near this disaster. Used to be pretty good. Management is a disaster. Health hazard. Going to report them. Disgusting! UPDATE: The above described a late lunch on Saturday 23, 2016. Later that night the symptoms of food poisoning began and have lasted all night. Still«going» at 8:30 Sunday morning.

We used to love this place. But lately, our experience has been dreadful. The past 3 times we went, our food was charred. We complained and it was remade, so we continued to give it another chance. but when we went Monday evening, our food was scorched again. Unfortunately, the cook is also the manager and doesn’t seem to feel that the char exists or is a problem. When we talked to him, he said he didn’t feel the food was burned at all. The crab was clearly black and burned. we won’t be returning.

Despite negative reviews, I took my two children here for dinner for the novelty of Mongolian if nothing else. They loved it, I loved it, the staff we interacted with were welcoming and sincerely engaged us. I can say none of the other reviewers’ negative experiences occurred for me and I will definitely be back here. And for the chick who gave this restaurant one star because she doesn’t like that type of food, I give you three thumbs down for being an idiot. You’ve missed the point of a review and you’ve frivolously lowered a good restaurant’s rating on Apple Maps and Unilocal

I’m not one to leave a negative review and I’m usually much more verbose. On a positive note, the food is definitely the highlight. A large selection of meats and veggies done in a hibachi stir fry. If you know what you are doing with flavors, it can be pretty tasty. The staffing is a hot mess, frankly. Our server did a great job, but it sounded like they were short staffed terribly. This has been two times in a row with a negative experience. Not my favorite…

I received a gift certificate for bd’s, so the husband and I went here to try this out. We have been to a Mongolian Grill before, and this was similar. There are a decent variety of toppings, and I appreciated that you could sample the sauces. Refills cost extra, which is okay because one bowl is plenty filling. However, it would be nice if you could do smaller bowls and get free refills so you could try different flavor combinations. The only other thing I would mention is that as a vegetarian, I kind of wish that I had gone to the special allergy cooking window we passed. They use the same kitchen tools on all the food as they work their way around the grill, so I was paranoid that a piece of chicken or something was going to end up in my food.

I used to go here all the time and loved this place. I went yesterday with my daughter she got a quesadilla I got a chicken bowl with veggies and white rice and tortillas. The food was okay but I seem to have food poisoning now. I was craving this place I hadn’t been there since they reopened and am so unimpressed. Service seems slower and unsure if its due to wait staff or the kitchen? I’m not usually one to complain but seriously I hate getting sick off food its awful. My daughter on the other hand is fine so I’m thinking whatever made me sick is on the food bar. I got chicken spiral pastas mushrooms bean sprouts onions and sauce. I talked to a few friends they said they’ve had an issue getting sick here as well. Hopefully they can fix whatever the problem is. I really used to love this place and am so disappointed.

Don’t let the name fool you. While Mongolian BBQ is the style of cooking, the flavor is anything you are in the mood for. Asian, Italian, American, Southwestern/Mexican, and Mediterranean are all flavor options here. Since reopening, they have added even more options. Smaller containers at the bars have allowed BD to offer more than double the options in meat, noodles, and produce. The last time I went, my bowl was okay. I feel like that was mostly my fault since I picked everything in it, and the sauces. The combo just wasn’t right. I considered making it an endless bowl, and trying a different combination, but I was too full. For those who would rather not create their own bowl, there is also a menu of starters, entries, and desserts to choose from.

I’m a fan. The Mongolian grill style is similar to other places where you prepare your own bowl, then it’s cooked on your behalf. The service is quick and courteous. The ingredients are fresh. I’m most impressed with assortment of spices, herbs, sauces, etc. Lots of variety!

Ugh. Concept is nice, execution and overall experience was terrible. In short form: broken sinks in men’s room, no spoons for soup available, no plates for salad, brought hot sauce instead of ketchup w/daughter’s cheeseburger. Total of 1 ¾ hr from seating to receiving bill at a restaurant that is mainly self serve.

This is a cool place! I went for the second time today and really enjoyed the food. One fun part about bd’s is being able to get your own food from the bar and watch it get cooked up(but that is pretty pricey!). The service we had today was very slow and just not adequate for the price we paid, but it could have just been a bad day. I’d recommend bd’s for a birthday dinner or nice outing with the family, just not an every day restaurant!

Some Unilocalers need to revise their expectations, methinks. When people leave comments saying the food was good, the service was sweet, and the price was right but they weren’t wowed, I have to wonder what they require for their $ 10. BD’s is NOT a date night destination. It is NOT a charming, one-of-a-kind experience, or authentically ethnic. It is not fine dining. What it IS is a pleasant alternative to fast food: fast, convenient and about 1,000% healthier. For under $ 10 you get a ton of food including seafood, beef, chicken, tofu and(gasp) veggies, all cooked to order. It is an easy alternative for large work groups that require separate checks and diverse choices, or for families with picky kids. Can I think of places I’d rather eat? Yeah. Can I think of places I’d rather eat when I’m stuck up in Mason traffic at noontime with a half hour to eat, a limited budget, and a need to eat healthy? No.(And BTW, the new management seems to be doing a great job.)

I’ve heard good things about this place but after reading the Unilocal reviews, I almost didn’t give it a chance. Boy, I’m glad I did! Is the food the most amazing I’ve ever had? No. But this place is an experience. It’s fun; it’s unique. Recommendation: Only get ONE bowl! It may not seem like much but it goes a long way! I love how they have the sauce bar and allow guests to try the sauces before picking. The salad bar isn’t much. But who comes here for the salad anyway??? The staff is fun; the manager was super nice. I will be back!

Def NOT my thing. It seems to me like they just heat the food up. Yes, they cook the chicken, shrimp & whatever else meat you choose but the vegetables are still extremely crunchy. Like they were never placed on the grill. The cooks were fun and waitress was very nice, however, I can think of 100 other placed I’d rather eat. The only good thing I had here was their piña colada. ITWASFABULOUS!!!

Other than a super sweet waitress, Laura, and the fun cooks — not my cup of tea! I prefer my food NOT having everyone«touched» the food, etc…

Very meh although it does give you a lot of options over how your food is prepared. Depending on how strategic you ware, you can definitely get more than 1 meal out of a single bowl, which comes in around $ 10. You can also get the unlimited with soup and salad for $ 12.99 without tax and tip. The salad bar is very meh although they do have kale(iceberg otherwise, no romaine) and the soups didn’t look that great. The teriyaki sauce is decent and they have a good selection of veggies. It is pretty cool watching them prepare your food but it’s just innovative Panda Express, at best.

Yum glad that BD’s is back. Super tasty all you can eat diy food. There are so many options and my daughter loves to pick stuff out for herself which is fun. We have never had any issues where we waited too long but then again we have avoided the major rush times for lunch and dinner. Looking forward to our next visit!

We sat at a table for twenty minutes without service, even after speaking with the hostess still no service. We finally left.

Love this place, so glad it’s open again! Updated menu with a few new options. A little disappointed the price for unlimited bowls seems to have increased though.

It’s back! I really like this place because YOU decide what and how much you want in your stir fry. No matter what your mood you can eat what you want! I like the way it feels like a show when they cook up your food too. Not gourmet and not fancy but super solid place to get a meal!
