Went there to have dinner and drinks. Food was decent. The bartender unfortunately spent most of his time trying to hook up with the two girls at his bar, instead of asking us about another round of drinks and taking away our plates. The manager { I assume he was the manager} starring at our empty glasses and dirty plates sitting in front of us seemed a little confused on just what to do. This place does have great potential but I think they might need to train their manager on how to spot and correct problems before they happen, and maybe have the bartender look for girls on his own time.

Normally I’m not a hard critic but this drew the line for 1 star. This isn’t really a fair to the establishment but the image of their company is based off who they hire so they share some responsibility. When I was there yesterday, I overheard a waitress bring back a glass of wine that had a hair in it. The bar tender ask who noticed it him(the waiter) or the table. When he replied the table did she give him a smirk look and she walked away to the corner, she picked up the new glass, pulled the hair out with her finger(I’m assuming it was hers in the 1st place) and then poured the same wine in the new glass… And then gave it back to the waiter, the waiter was innocent and didn’t notice what she did. On top of that disgusting experience, the chips and guacamole was horrible. The chips were crewy and the guacamole was loaded with salt and bland. In fairness the guy next to me loved his hamburger so much he ordered another. Lol

Their attempt at reestablishing themselves as a decent dining establishment have failed. Despite the Facebook claims of better trained staff, improved menu… And gluten free options are not true. Our server was unaware of their GF options, the manager sent her back to state the Wings were not GF. When we told her that, in December, the manager told us the fryer was dedicated GF oil, she went to went to ask the Chef. The Chef told her that gluten cooks off in the oil. This come from a place of ignorance so we left without eating. I don’t want to trust my family’s safety from a «chef» who does not know the basics of safe food preparation. What a shame. This restaurant could be so great.

$ 5 burger Wednesday night, really great burger, good service too! We went two Wednesdays in a row. The second time they had live music. Next time we will make a reservation, but with out, the wait wasn’t too bad for a table of 8.

This is a review of the newly-reopened Brazenhead Irish Pub. They closed in November 2015, then took the time to bring in a new management and staff and re-vamp their operation and menu. They re-opened in late December 2015, and my first visit was on Jan 2, 2016. First of all, the food. The menu is significantly cut down from before. Large selection of appetizers, lots of burgers, and some«pub» dishes including shepard’s pie and the like. I had the fish and chips(with«cottage fries» substituted at my request) and my wife had the bangers and mash. The fish and chips was excellent. Two large chunks of fish, well cooked. Tasty batter. The fries had some house spices on them and were very well done as well. My wife’s bangers and mash were excellent as well. They were advertised as «wild boar, venison and applewood smoked.» A decent-sized portion arrived arranged on a respectable heap of mashed potatoes and gravy. The potatoes were fine, and the gravy was quite tasty. For dessert we split a blueberry bread pudding, which was really good. Food was delivered quickly, and the waitstaff was attentive. The bar is well stocked with lots of craft beers. Now for the not-so-good part. There was some confusion in the kitchen. As explained to me later by the service manager, our appetizer menu got completely lost, as it arrived in a flurry of similar orders. The entrée order came out so quickly that I thought it had gotten ahead of the appetizer we ordered, but no; the app order had vanished. Second, the bangers and mash came out no better than warm. We sent it back, and there was a significant delay in getting the replacement dish, due to(again) some more confusion in the kitchen. When it came back, it was fine. In general, it sounds like the kitchen is still coming back up to speed after the restructuring. The menu is not overly ambitious, and the Saturday night crowd was not what I’d call«large»(though there was steady traffic), but they’re still working on getting the back-of-house operation working smoothly. So bottom line: Bar excellent, food quality excellent, kitchen operation a little bumpy. 4 stars for the food, –1 star for the kitchen problems. I’m planning on going back, and if things improve I’ll update the review.

This business was closed for a while and has reopened. The menu and the service are entirely different. They had a musician there last night name Jon Aiken for live entertainment and a wonderful New Year’s Eve brunch. If you haven’t checked it out since they reopened you might want to check them out.

If I could give it negative stars I would. We booked a dinner for sixty people on October 31(well in advance) and found out by chance through FB on the 30th they are closing for renovations. We received no notice from the restaurant whatsoever and now have a day to try and find another place. No matter how fancy the changes are or how great the new menu, we will NEVER go back because of the unethical practice of the Historic Dublin Restaurant group and Mike Tibbetts who manage all the properties. You may never see us again but we will talk about you FAR and WIDE.

The food and service were great! We were a party of four. I had the Irish grilled pork chops, my granddaughter had the salmon. My daughter enjoyed the shepherds pie, and my sister a salad. The waitress was super nice and very attentive! I cannot wait to take my husband. Large portions as well.

When Brazenhead first opened it was amazing. Great staff, great food and great beer selection. As its has been open awhile, things have changed. The staff has changed but not always for the better. The great people who opened the place are mainly all gone. The beer selection is still good but seems they are always out of 1 or 2 beers every visit. The food though is nowhere near as good as it used to be. The place also seems to be worn out. It needs a good cleaning and fresh coat of paint.

Great prices on entrees, appetizers, and drinks. A night out with the Hubby is possible more often, we spend about $ 30. Comparable venues can set us back $ 60. If you check out the site you can find a deal on two $ 25 gift cards for $ 25 total and there are check-in deals for a free appetizer from time to time.

I can’t give this more than a one bc I won’t go back. Please read to the end. Spoiler alert: server goes crazy. Happy hour is ½ off drinks and it ends at 7… That said be there no later than 6:30. After being to there was a 20 minute wait and more than½ the tables were empty, we were eventually told to get a drink from the bar and seat yourself and a waiter would come to the table. I arrived 10 min after the other girls and went to the bar for a drink since the waiter hadn’t arrived. The bar has too many chairs. There is no place to stand to get a bartenders attention. It took over 10 minutes to get a drink. I asked the bartender the specials, since it was a couple minutes after 7 I requested that I get happy hour price since it wasn’t my fault we had no server and they hadn’t taken my order before 7. She said she was give it to me. SHEDIDNOT! The hostess finally came back to the table and asked if we wanted a menu or server. I thought that was pretty clear when we put our name on the wait? #blessherheart The server was pleasant. I had to ask for the specials. We got pickles and burgers. Burgers are $ 4.49, add fries for $ 1 and cheese for $.49 on Wednesdays. Food was pretty fast, our 2nd drink was a little slow. There was a HAIRONMY fRiES and BURGER. I ordered a well done burger, and there was no juice in it at all, but the bun was good and fries were fresh. We didn’t get a refill on water(it was 88 degrees outside) until I requested them as we were paying. I had tried to flag down another server who definitely saw me and ignored me… 3 times, really? when my server came out I had to flag him down too so it was obvious that she didn’t tell him. it’s rude not to at least acknowledge a customer, but it’s a bar so I didn’t expect great servers… We laughed about how bad the staff was. Its obvious they need to hire more people. When paying our tabs the server ran the cards for the wrong tabs. He offered to switch them back but walked away in 2 seconds before we had time to even discuss what we wanted to do. Really? We are friends so we worked it out. Not a big deal, we laughed some more about how weird the staff was.(Once they were inside of course) We had fun on the patio despite the issues and would have given it a 3 star and come back expecting edible food, drinks, a patio, fun with friends, and more hilariously bad service. But then it went downhill quick! Then the CHAOS started… I came inside to pay my happy hour drink tab. My tab was full price, even tho the bartender told me it would be ½ off. She told me there wasn’t anything that could be done. She was nice, and it wasn’t her fault. The entire experience was not good but I expressed to her that I have a really big issue with being charged an amount different than I agreed to pay. After all the things that went wrong in the meal now I was being charged EXTRA! I had not even mentioned the server, or had any intention on bringing it up. I guess he over heard me complaining about the bill and assumed I was talking about the first time I was over charged by him, and he came out of the back yelling at me aggressively. He was mad that I was talking about him, which I actually wasn’t. No one knew what on earth he was even talking about but me. I said something like dude relax I wasn’t even talking about you. Then he threw his arms up or threw something violently and stormed off in a full on temper tantrum. I’m glad he was across the bar bc he flew off the handle, and as a girl it was intimidating.(Now that I am gone it’s pretty funny though) He should seriously get his anger issues checked out, bc that is not normal or sane behavior to yell at a customer, more or less for no reason. The poor bartender was shocked and confused. I explained to her that he too had messed up my bill, and that was a pretty good indication of how my night went. she obviously could only agree at that point and I did need to tell the manger. The entire time the servers gathered to listen and watching to what I was saying by the POS system, which was REALLY inappropriate and made the situation even more uncomfortable. So after paying an extra $ 7 at the table, and $ 3 at the bar she gave me a $ 10 gift card. she was apologetic and appreciative I stayed to tell her the issues & didn’t want me to feel cheated. I didn’t want compensation, she insisted. I essentially paid for a $ 10 gift card that I don’t want That can NOTBEUSEDONALCOHOL!!! So I paid for more bad food. I’m not sure how that makes me not cheated when the cost issue was on cocktails? When I realized it was for food only I was more annoyed. Why bother? You took my $ 10 and gave me coupon I’ll never use. #movingon Over charging customers is bad business! Yelling at customers for absolutely no reason is grounds to be fired!

Bottom line. Good place to go with friends to drink. The food we had last night was so bad I don’t know where to begin. Ordered black & blue burger medium. When it came it was over cooked, dry and had no flavor. One of the worse burgers I ever had. Bun was stale from sitting out too long and fries where cold. You getting the point? Do not go here to eat! It was a Friday night at 10 and the place was empty — first hint. Here’s the said part, I was so hungry I ate half the burger. Don’t know who I’m more mad at, a place that can’t do a burger right or myself for eating It. It took so long for food to arrive that the thought of them doing it again wasn’t an option for me. Enjoy drinks with friends just lay off the food

I have lived in the area for over 7 years and kept trying this place every time they«change the menu». Honestly, unless they make major changes, I do not see myself going there again. I easily set a reservation for our party a couple hours beforehand on a Saturday night. When we arrived I knew why the reservation was easy, the place was sparsely populated aside from a private function in the basement. We had a decent sized party and we’re greeted within a couple minutes of being seated by a server. She proceeded to take the drink orders and knew very little about the draft selections. With the competition in the area for good draft beers(especially across the road) you would think that they could educate the staff. They were even out of some staple beers like a Scotch Ale. My wife and I ordered a couple Guinness drafts and our friends ordered domestics. The kid drinks came out first and then the adult sodas and then 5min later our Guinness arrived and the millers were last to arrive. That should have been the first sign of trouble. Our server then disappeared for a good 15minutes. She then came to tell us she would back to take our orders in a minute and didn’t come back for another 5. We ordered as a group, some apps and adult and kids meals. We were warned that the food would take a while since they were ‘a full house’. Funny thing is that the 2 floors viable they were maybe 40% seated. As promised the food came out very late, the lack of drink refills and any attentiveness by the staff made that wait seem even longer. The appetizers came out with meals and my family’s orders were all wrong. My wife’s salad had cheese on it even though she asked for it on the side.(They also put inedible iceberg lettuce cores in the salad) My daughter’s hamburger came out a cheeseburger. And my order was missing completely. The server came over and asked if everyone was happy and didn’t even notice I didn’t have my food! I had to point out that my fish and chips never arrived. Serving 101 is to check that every person was served. They then brought me out a half order when I actually ordered a full. The server then went to check what she wrote down and told me I did order the full.(Like I didn’t know my order) she then had to get the kitchen to made another fish. The fish and chips themselves were completely underwhelming. The fish is over battered and too greasy. Any flavor in the Guinness batter is washed away my the heavy oil. The chips are under seasoned and under done. They best thing on the plate was the cole slaw(which has a very nice depth of flavor). You would think that the increased competition of Old Bag a few minutes down the road would cause them to elevate this ‘signature dish’ but it falls flat. They have added a plethora of fried additions to the menu, including wings and fried cheese, taking away the healthy home made hummus that was there. They also now have a smoked section that one of the people at my table risked. They brisket came out dry and room temperature. The pork was described as sawdust in taste and texture. I guess and Irish Pub shouldn’t be expected to have decent smoked meats. To top it all off, the price you pay for an evening here is outrageous as well. I have no problem paying for a nice night out, but they quite literally have the most expensive Guinness pints in the city. The building is nicely decorated and the property is very nice, however none of that warrants an evening here. Throughout the entire evening of fumbles and neglect, management was no where to be seen. Not walking the floor or even helping with order mess ups. We were only given a nonchalant«sorry» by the server and charge full price on everything. I don’t want a free meal but it would be nice for some level of sincerity in messing up our dinner. If you care to venture here then I would recommend you go at happy hour and get a pint and the Bavarian pretzels. Sit at the bar because the service elsewhere is abysmal. At least then you won’t be too disappointed.

I was very disappointed in my visit last night. It was a Saturday night and there was about ten people in this beautiful three story pub. We were seated at a table that looked as it has seen better days. They were out of several beers and food items. The food showed up quickly, too quickly, obviously having been hastily prepared. I had the full order of fish and chips which consisted of two planks of fish with a half cup of fries and a quarter cup of slaw. I am glad I didn’t order the half order as it would have come on a saucer. the fries had several hairs on them and were cold. the fish was good but how can you screw that up. my friend had the Shepard’s pie which looked like beef vegetable soup with a pretty made pie crust thrown on top. it wasn’t even cooked long enough to get crispy. A truly disappointing experience.
