Holiday Inn Express & Suites Cincinnati – Mason

Really disappointed in this hotel. Had so many good reviews I thought how could I go wrong?!? My guess is the hotel staff is leaving reviews for them. Charged $ 159/​nt, heated pool was a joke. Not much larger than a bathtub and not heated. No pool towels had to request them and was given an attitude and told that the lights will be shutoff exactly at 11pm. Really rowdy lobby and hall areas filled with teens. I complained about the rate and hotel the Lady at the front desk was rude & arrogant (as if how dare I?). Our room was nothing fancy, maybe $ 100/​nt would’ve been fine. I’ve stayed in many hotels including hie this place is a rip off! Ended up canceling our second night here. Thank you but I’ll take my business somewhere else.

What stands out most about this hotel is the outstanding customer service. We made a group reservation for our little league baseball team, which can be tricky, but our group sales rep, Liz Krouse, made it simple and pleasant. She was always prompt to reply to our requests, helped us shuffle various arrival and departure dates for the families, and went above and beyond to make sure we felt welcome. In addition, the staff did a nice job handling having 11 teenage boys running around. They kept them in check (which was helpful to us as well), but were friendly about it. Finally, the hotel itself is exactly what we needed. It’s in a nice suburb of Cincinnati (Mason) about 20 minutes from downtown, it’s very clean, and the price is right. The free breakfast (they have a pancake machine, which the kids loved) and the pool kept the kids busy the entire time. I’d recommend this hotel and its staff to anyone coming to Cincinnati for a visit, whether it’s an individual or a large group. We really enjoyed it.

So clean. A real pleasure to stay at. Was quoted one price and charged more, the front desk adjusted it immediately. Breakfast was great but they end it early. Ask for the suite, it has a hot tub in the room and it was only a few bucks more.

Room was clean, but bathrooms off of the lobby needed some attention. There was no information in the room about breakfast. When we arrived and asked about eggs, we were told the breakfast area was closed. It was almost 9:30 and 9:30 was closing time. We were told there were no eggs, buy we could have whatever was left. However, we found some hard boiled eggs in the refrigerator. All of the cereals, including the oats were presweetened. When we asked for an unsweetened oatmeal, we were told they did not have any, so few choices without sugar. There was no microwave for the bagels… only a toaster. There were no flavored creamers for the coffee. The beds and showers were ok, but the pillows were terrible. I would try the other hotels in the area before this one.

I frequently travel to this area for business and stay at a hotel across the street. Due to a last minute trip, my usual hotel was sold out and I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express. I was definitely glad I did!
I haven’t been in a Holiday Inn since I was a kid and they have definitely improved. I walked in the door and was pleasantly surprised. I was greeted right away and noticed the nice décor and everything was very clean.
Easy check in and went to find my room. Again, another nice surprise. The room was really clean and included a couch, desk, mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker. The bed was actually comfortable! The bathroom was decent sized compared to some other hotel bathrooms.
I had a nice stay and will always stay here instead of the other hotel from now on.

No complaints here. I had a good stay here, though it was for one night. The staff was friendly and the breakfast was good, though I was bummed it was only until 9:30 (I’m a sleeper). We had a very nice, spacious room and it was very clean and neat. The next time we travel to this area, I’ll definitely be staying here again.

The past few days at breakfast have shown that the first day is not the norm here. So far the past few days the breakfast has been hot and ample. Also the staff has been very helpful throughout the stay.

Can’t say anything bad. Everything was well beyond expectation — from the front desk all the way through checkout. Will definitely be staying here my next trip to Cincinnati/​Mason Ohio. 5 stars easy.
