Sad this business is no longer open. My meal was amazing from start to finish and service was personable and accommodating.

So sad to hear that Straits of Malacca closed their doors! Every time I went there the food was always delicious and interesting, and the service was great. Downtown Mason just lost an amazing restaurant. :( I hope the family finds a new location soon — preferably closer to me!

Once upon a time there was a restaurant in Chicago(Sable) that served a crispy duck leg and I got it every time I went. Sadly, they got rid of it. I hadn’t had duck(in a restaurant) since then, until I came to this charming restaurant in Mason. Really the only reason this doesn’t get 5 stars is because the service is PAINFULLY slow. Why in the world would you only have one server for the whole dining room? That makes no sense. Anyway, the food was outstanding. We got a few dishes to share that were really tasty, but the winner winner was the BBQCRISPYDUCK. I could not stop eating it. I went straight in for a leg before anyone else could claim it and it was to die for. SOFREAKINGGOOD. If you like duck, you will LOVE this. The End.

Great food, friendly service and nice atmosphere. It’s a must experience! I went here for lunch with some friends. It came highly recommended and we weren’t disappointed! I got the BBQ roast duck with soy noodles. The ducks and chicken they used hang in the diner style side of the restaurant. The duck was amazing. Crispy, flavorful and plentiful. The noodles were also tasty and came with a side of stir fried bok choy and hot dipping sauce. I have plenty left for lunch tomorrow ^-^ We also got a dessert to share. Shaved ice with cream, nuts, fruit and corn. It was crisp and refreshing, and plenty for 3 people! Bottom line: go and bring friends!
