This is my favorite pizzeria in Maspeth. There are quite a few pizza shops in the neighborhood. I’ve been to most of them, but Joey’s is my fave. I’ve been coming here back when it was called Caruana. Their large pizza comes with sesame seeds on the crust. My favorite is the Chicken marsala pizza. It comes topped with grilled chicken, mushrooms and marsala wine. Their sicilian pie fed my brother and I for a whole week! The wings are average in my opinion. The prices are good considering the quantity and quality of the food. The delivery time is typically 45 minutes when I call them up, which is reasonable. They are also open late which is a plus.

Love this pizza. The sesame seeds on the crust are the best. I always get a slice of cheese pizza. It’s my go to place late at night when I’m craving.

They’re open till 1am! And they deliver! And they’re yummy! Home of the sesame crust, which is a cool concept and tastes good, but gets super messy, with sesame seeds flying everywhere. Funny, but true. Haha.

FIVESTARS all the way for their pizza!!! One of my few very favorite pizza places — and I LOVE pizza. I haven’t eaten anything else here, so this review is solely for their pizza. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten a bad slice here. Rosa’s used to be the undisputed king in these parts, but Joey’s is now(after the new owner took over and changed the name several years back) every bit as good and perhaps even better depending on your tastes. I did a side-by-side and preferred Joey’s. Now pizza in NYC is highly personal and everyone has their favorite place, but Joey’s can definitely be at the top of a lot of people’s lists. It just consistently hits that perfect mark of abundant flavorful cheese, tangy sauce, and a wonderful crust. I myself really like the sesame seeds on the crust(only on the outer edge — not on the bottom of the pie). Why would any New Yorker mind when we are constantly eating them on everything from our bagels to our Semolina bread? But for some reason many reviewers here seem to be put off by them. Grow up. I also see that a lot of the negative reviews here seem to be when either the reviewer has 1) Ordered something other than pizza 2) Ordered online or 3) Not liked their dealings with the owner. I can’t speak to the rest of the menu or for ordering online. But I’ve been in here literally hundreds of times, and have often been served by the owner. I have found him to be very courteous and pleasant every single time. However I could see how he has a bit of that New Yawk streak/attitude in him, and he probably gets impatient with those who are critical as some posts seem to suggest. But I really don’t mind that«tude» in my pushcart pretzel sellers, my deli owners, or my pizzeria owners. We’re in New York Freakin’ City after all. GREAT pizza.

It was ok. I could do without the sesame on the crust. I guess that’s an acquired taste. It was nice to be in NY though so I SMILEDANYWAY!!!

So I ordered for delivery from this place via Seamless and boy it was biggest mistake of my life. My order was chicken rollatini with mozarela and prosciuto. Well in any world you would think it is chicken cutlet rolled with mozarela and prosciuto outside thats what dish is in any country thats serving Italian food but not in this rude owners head. I gave them a call and explained how this is not rollatini but pieces of chicken swimming in some pool of some soup like sauce with pieces of fake prosciuto and some mushrooms and owner answered me I cant do anything for you cause listen to this line: ITISMYUNCLERECIPE!!! Here are pictures of dish that he served me and I will also post pics of real rollatini if you google it. PLEASEDONTEATFROMTHISPLACEIFYOUDONTWANTTOGETFOODPOISONING!!!

I would have gave this pizzeria 5 stars if it wasn’t for the rude and unpleasant owner who works their. I came in today for the first time today after reading wonderful comments and regret every minute of it. I ordered 2 beef patties, a slice, and a chicken roll; upon paying the owner rudely asked me if I had an id keep in mind I was paying with the debit card. In front of other customers he told me its the law to check id if paying w a debit or credit card. I told him it is not the law to check ids for debit cards because I can insert my pin. He continue to yell and harass me. Although they have great food the owner is clearly racist. While I was there I also heard him make racist jokes about their delivery guy who’s Chinese. I will never return here– even if they are given free pizza. This guy does not know how to treat people and should have no customers. Great job. Joey!

First things first… PLANAHEAD. MYORDERCAMEIN1HR as Grubhub stated. But the food was amazing. I was nervous that my order was going to be cold but everything was hot and ready to eat. For appetizers we has the Calamari so tender and hot, I ordered a personal pizza with anchovies that was delicious and my husband had the Veal Parmigiana with Linguini which was outstanding. My new fav spot for Italain!

I love this pizza! I used to work in the area and would get it on a weekly basis– so when I get a chance to head over and grab a few slices– I go! I love the staff here– Mark is an absolute gentleman and stand up guy! The place is family owned and they know how to make really good food and run a professional business. What makes their pizza different is the delicious sesame seed crust. So good! I also don’t find their plain slices as greasy as most pizza places. My absolute favorite slice though is the bbq chicken! To die for haha that’s exactly what I had this visit. Get a slice of that– you’ll thank me lol This place has been around for quite a while over in Maspeth I believe. Could be Middle Village lol I can’t remember the cut off for the two neighborhoods. Anyway– go grab some slices from here if you’re in the area! They are open til 1am too

The pizza was so good! The wings were freshly fried and the salad was crisp. The service was quick and friendly too. Very nice corner pizza shop! My son and nephew loved it!

I’ve been going to Joey’s since it was known as Caruana’s– still can’t resist the yummy sesame seeded pizza crust– a tasty crunch to an A rated pizzeria! Nice. My favorite here is the eggplant rollatini pizza pie. It has a nicely crisped crust, tasty housemade marinara sauce, super-delicious ricotta, and fresh fried breaded eggplant slices. It is filling in a good way :) Excellent the next day in the toaster oven, too. Nice people here, and they have a consistent grade A health review(unlike other nearby pizza places). Also, a tasty eggplant Parmesan hero(I get it with an extra helping of their fresh marinara sauce– worth it!).

One of the many Pizza places in Maspeth, Joey’s signature is sesame seeds on their pizza, and the addition is a welcome one. Decent selection of toppings, and their other food is pretty good. Location is good as well, except for having to compete with Rosa’s right across the street, but their pizza is different enough to make them a separate stop.

This place is an embarrassment. I ordered on seamless and when my order was an hour and a half late I called. The lady confirmed my order and everything. When asked the question of where my order was the lady responded with that’s a good question… 2 hours into my order being late, I called back and they close the shop… Are you actually kidding me!!! This place is the worst. They have no problem taking my money but delivering the food I ordered clearly isn’t a priority. DONOTORDERFROMHERE! Customer service is clearly not what this place is about. They are more interested in going home then making sure their customers get THEFOODTHEYORDERTWOHOURSAGO!

Over priced mediocre pizza is what you will find at Joey’s. Although I like the sesame seed crust it’s not worth the $ 6.00 for the slice & small bottled water. I had the chicken with chunks of tomato paste & it wasn’t even tasteful. It was quite bland & season less. It reminded me of frozen chicken pizza. The customer after me actually spoke out about the over priced slice he just got & the older man behind the counter started trying to justify his pricing due to the rents in the area. Rubbish.

Pretty good The sauce is very good. I’ve heard from old friends this was the go to place when they grew up in this area during high school. Give them a shot and try the Sicilian slice, it’s good stuff.

Stick to the large pizzas here. It’s great that they’re open so late, and while the menu seems to offer a wider range of choices, it’s still a pizzeria at heart. Their tomato sauce has the same issue it had in the past, and they still love to throw massive chunks of raw garlic into their sauces. But if I was rating them on their marinara alone they’d be getting three stars. It’s not an entirely traditional marinara, a little closer to tomato in my opinion, but it was jam packed with garlic flavor. It smelled, and I’m sure I smelled afterwards, and it was totally worth it. I’m pretty sure their fried shrimp and fried calamari are both pre-bought and frozen. The calamari has no legs(my favorite part!) and some of the pieces were fused together(a likely sign of freezer burn). This in itself isn’t unforgivable, it’s just a local place after all, but they do charge $ 15 for those fried shrimp– which are bone dry and taste oddly like chicken. It comes with salad, pasta, or fries, and the portions are generous but I would skip it. I also ordered the house special personal pizza, which has sausage, mushrooms, peppers and onions. Like I said, it’s a local place, so the toppings aren’t the freshest. They went a little too light on the sauce, and for some reason the crust was really thick. I still like my pizza thin, even if it’s a personal pie.

Sesame seeds on their pie crust. Sure. Why not? I bet you you’ll miss it when you get a slice somewhere else. Great food when you’re lazy to even wait for your Chinese food take out.
