Been here 4 – 5 times, Nice inside, 1980’s old style italian, waiters in tuxedos, etc, etc. good service, good food, on the high end in price. Id go back but there are better places for Italian food in the area.

Food is decent. Nice place. Staff is friendly. I think the food is a little over priced but overall everything was good. Definitely give this place a try.

Amazing food, phenomenal service beautiful ambience very authentic Italian food. It has a nice romantic feel and one of my favorite parts is that after you have an appetizer they bring this lemon ice to clean your pallet.

Il Classico is terrific! The food is brought to your table piping hot and you know that every meal is made fresh to order. The staff is very knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. You will not get a bad meal at this fine establishment. Try the Veal A la Classico, it is amazing!

Il Classico has been on my list for a while now. I figured Long Island Restaurant Week would be a great time to sample the food there. My fiancée and I arrived on Sunday night around 6pm. The host seated us promptly despite being almost at capacity due to a private party. We were immediately served a bread basket and bruschetta. We ordered from the restaurant week menu: Appetizer Fresh Mozzarella Pinwheel-This wasn’t what I expected at all. I expected an actual pinwheel. This was like a slice of a mushy wrap. Fried Calamari-Decent Entrée Tuna Steak-I didn’t even want to try this. It was not a good cut of tuna. My fiancée had to send it back, which he hates doing, but it was truly inedible. They happily replaced it with: Pork Milanese-Basically pork schnitzel. It was very crunchy but so unbelievably thin. Lamb Ossobucco-Lamb was not as tender as it should be. The risotto was just not right. Very soupy with no flavor. Dessert Brownie Sundae-The saddest dessert ever. A thin piece of brownie topped with 1 scoop of vanilla ice cream. I wouldn’t call that a sudae. Tiramisu-Very moist and flavorful dessert The service was excellent and attentive. They even gave us a $ 27 gift certificate for our next visit, which was a nice gesture. We eventually noticed that it was only applicable for a purchase of $ 127 or more. Still, they weren’t obligated to give us the certificate since they replaced my fiancées dish, so that was nice.

Great Evening! Had dinner on Saturdat night and I’m always a little worried because of Saturday night crowds. When my wife and I walked in we were greeted like we were the most important people there. Warm, friendly and eager to help. We were shown to our table and we received prompt service, but we never seemed rushed. My wife liked that. After cocktails, Jimmy came over and explained the specials. He also added that if we don’t see it on the menu — ask and they will try to accomodate. Our warm portabello mushroom was perfect and the calamari was crisp and just as we like it. We didn’t go crazy with fancy dinners – Pasta with clam sause for my wife and eggplant parmigiana for me. Wow, was the eggplant good. I try this dish at almost every italian restaurant I go to, but this was the best. My water glass was never empty and I had a supply of lemon wedges for my water at all times. Sorry but water and lemon wedges is my thing. When we left, my wife asked me when we can go back again. Thank you, Il Classico

The place has a really nice ambience. The food is slightly above average, way too much garlic used in most dishes. The worst part was the prices. $ 13 for an inexpensive glass of white wine. Appetizers all $ 13 – 15,entrees around $ 30. Definitely way overpriced.

This is one of my top 3FINE Italian restaurant on Long Island, The owner here knows how to run a restaurant and he is tops in his field. The food never ever disappoints, the service is always right on the mark, and live music every Thurs. & Fri. by Johnny Avino starting at 7pm adds an amazing romantic mood to an already beautiful and calming atmosphere. You are treated like a guest, and never feel rushed, even each dish is prepared fresh to order with only the finest ingredients, so it takes a little bit longer than most restaurants, but when that entrée’s arrives prepare to be wowed, an explosion of flavors that you can taste each ingredient carefully selected for that dish. You can not go wrong with any dishes served here, come and enjoy the journey to a food utopia and be prepared to be as I said before WOWED. The food here is prepared with a love and passion for food. This is as good as it gets! Ciao

Very sorry to say that we were disappointed. We went out for my parents 45th anniversary. There were 8 of us and it was a Saturday night. The service was pretty horrible even taking that into account. They forgot 3 parts of our order, a side dish and 2 desserts. A salad was brought 5 minutes after all the other appetizers were served. Coffee was placed on the table and not poured which was very strange. We had heard such great things and the restaurant has been here for years. Very disappointed. My 8 year old wanted spaghetti and meatballs. They didn’t have that but the waiter suggested bolognese. She agreed and them 5 minutes later a different person came and said they couldn’t do that. He apologized. Her replacement ala vodka was very good and the veal milanese was delicious. Not sure if we will give it another chance or not.

Let me start out by saying I have been here before and love the service, the food and the atmosphere. It does take awhile but that is to be expected. The wait staff is very attentive and always on top of your needs or wants. Plan on being there awhile and things moving slowly. It is worth it though! A little pricy but I always see coupons for this place! Went there last night with my love and we had made reservations for 8:30pm. We came early(8pm) and figured we would sit at the bar and have a few cocktails before we sat down. We were told when we walked in our table was being cleaned and it would be just a few minutes. By 9:15 we were still at the bar starving and not able to order an appetizer so we ended up leaving. The bartender(George) was grumpier than usual and that was a little unpleasant too. We had gone out for my birthday and wanted to have a nice evening together. It just took too long this time and since we were told several times«our table was just about ready» was a little annoying.

I’ve been here several times with my husband. The food is authentic Italian, fresh and plentiful given the amount of courses you get. We typically come here for date nights or special occasions since the food is a bit on the high side. Dressing more formal is recommended

This is the place to go if you are looking for elegant atmosphere, attentive, professional service, and well prepared fresh food. We stumbled upon this restaurant, and will definitely be returning. A little on the pricey side, but you definitely get your moneys worth. come here for a relaxing, top notch evening.

Walked in late one night on a whim. It was fancier than I expected — luckily I happened to be wearing a dress. The waiters are super attentive and classy as hell, and they make you feel special. They really go all out here! They take their time with the service and the food, but it’s worth it. I will be going back!

The reservation was for a quiet table. The adventure started with a bug in my beer glass and ended with a very large noisy, drunk table making speech’s and dancing in the aisles such that their large hips were brushing up against the table. We had to yell for service which was terrible, and waited one hour for our appetizer, which was followed all to quickly by our salad, pasta course and main course. Management was non apologetic when they asked how things were going and presented me with a $ 500 bill. I felt ripped off. I am a long term customer and this place has gone steadily downhill its a shame but this will be my last visit BEWARE!!!

Let me start out saying I have been here more than once and truly enjoy my experiences here. Here are my critiques of Il Classico. 1. If you are in a hurry, do not dine here. They take their time serving you because they will not rush you away from your table. All their food is prepared fresh, so it does take more time. 2. You will pay a little more for food here because of the exquisite service you will receive. They are constantly monitoring their tables, as water glasses constantly filled, and servers always offering alcoholic beverages and wine. What I like… 1. This is the perfect place to enjoy a quiet meal with a loved one, or a family member. Service is excellent, consistently great food.(ask for cold antipasto salad for salad or appetizer course, and Zabaione for dessert — both are excellent and hard to find in many other places.) 2. Food is second to none in terms of taste, freshness and presentation. Very old school, very classic Italian menu, many specials, and live music on thursdays. No matter where you come from, worth the drive to Massapequa.

A throwback to the more formal days way back when. The waiters are dressed in tuxedos and the menu seems unchanged from the fifties. A live singer quietly sings Sinatra and Martin. Prices are higher than they should be, but the restaurant belongs to discount programs. Food was pretty good but nothing you haven’t had before. Service was extremely slow. This is another example of a class of restaurant that I think is on the way out. Too nice for a week day dinner but not nice enough for a special Saturday night.

Ok, this place is the best you are going to get on Long Island. If you travel into the city, you will for sure get comparable excellence, but for mid-island Italian cuisine, this place is hands down top-rated. I have been going here for years, probably Seven to be precise and have NEVER, that’s right… NEVER been disappointed, and on most occasions I am dazzled! The stuffed veal chop is one of my favorites, and even if it is not on the special menu they will usually whip it up for you, or anything else for that matter you can think of. The service is impeccable, and the atmosphere is delicate. I strongly recommend that you give this place a try next time you want a special occasion dinner or just a nice night out with great food and don’t want to travel into Manhattan.
