Came here last night for a friends birthday. Had a reservation and was seated right away. We were greeted by our waitress for a drink order, but we literally just sat so we wanted a minute to settle in and look at the drink menu. When we were ready, she brought the drinks right away which was great! Drinks were well made and wines were a good pour. We all basically ordered 1 specialty roll &1 regular roll. I personally had the Spicy Shrimp Mango Roll(topped with a spicy mango mayo sauce & not too mango-y at all) and the Ginza Roll. Both were absolutely delicious! Plates were well decorated too. Everyone loved what they ordered. They sang happy birthday and wrote happy birthday in fudge on the plate — very nice & pretty. Only negative was when we asked for the check. the waitress was a little delayed and rude. We felt very rushed. This was late like 10pm on Friday evening, restaurant was slow so not like they needed the table. I guess they wanted to close up? Bottom line, food and drinks were great, ambiance was perfect, food was well presented. will definitely be back!

I like this restaurant. The ambiance is nice and the food is good. My favorite dish is the General Tso Chicken with brown rice. It has the right amount of spicy and the chicken is cooked crispy which I like! I literally will only get General Tso from Ginza from now on! It’s the best!

I frequent Ginza fairly often. When I first try a new sushi place, the test of true quality is always in how the fresh sashimi tastes, so I get the Chirashi. I have to say, Ginza has the best! I’ve had friends order the hot entrees and they look amazing, but the Chirashi is so good it’s become my regular choice. They also have a surf and turf roll, which was originally on the specials menu and has become a regular choice. It seems unusual, but it’s worth the cost as a unique shared roll. The drinks are nice too. The lychee martini is a refreshing fun choice.

Seated quickly even though they were busy, fun waiting area at the bar with hanging seats… food was delicious! TnT roll, spicy crunchy scallop, and carman roll were all equally delicious. Waitress was a sweetheart! Can’t wait to return!

Five stars on food for presentation, freshness, and taste from appetizers, suishi, desert, to cappucino. Menu selection is overwhelming but ambience is really trendy and fun. Service was friendly but lack in attentiveness which I would give three stars. So if you are looking for a quality suishi trendy restaurant but in no rush I highly recommend. Looking forward to going back!

Good food if you want a level above regular Chinese take out. The wait to be seated can be very long and there’s not much of a lobby to stand in. I recommend trying the surf and turf roll — it’s delicious!

While the food here at Ginza is tasty the service is more than lacking. The staff is unfriendly and barely speaks to you. The overall quality of the sushi is fantastic so I have to give high praise for that but seriously folks get it together and hire some new people.

Sushi was very fresh and tasty. The place really wasn’t jammed & we waited over a half an hour for our rolls. We saw them sitting on the sushi bar waiting… It wasn’t until I asked what was going on — all of a sudden our food is ready. The staff were oblivious. They had no idea what was going on. I asked for tea — it came in a miniscule cup(two sips & done) weird. The food was good but I will not be back. I felt very uncomfortable. Not at ease with the way things were done & we had to wait a ridiculous amount of time for no reason

I came here twice back when it opened a few years ago and while I thought the food was pretty good I did find the service a little lacking. Many of the employees were foreign and spoke little English and also exuded some unique etiquette than what I would say I’m used to at restaurants, i.e. little-to-no communication with tables, no real manners, hovering, taking plates away before you’re done eating, etc. I have no problem with foreign employees in a culture-specific restaurant, however I feel like they should be held to a certain standard to interact with customers. With that being said, I have come back twice in the last month(once being last night) with my boyfriend and we have had the honor of being seated with the waitress Katherine both times. She is so sweet, friendly, welcoming, and not pushy or rude in any way. I would love to have her as my waitress at any restaurant I dine in. The food has been great, but even if it wasn’t, her service is so ideal that I don’t think I would even be that upset if my order got messed up. My boyfriend and I agreed that we would love to be regulars here for well-priced Japanese food as long as we can request to sit with Katherine every time. If you go, ask for Katherine if possible! Only small complaint: One of the bussers reached in front of my face to take my bowl of miso soup off the table while I was in the middle of eating it and there was clearly still half a bowl of soup left. Minor thing, but he didn’t even ask if I was finished, he just reached down while I was eating. Manners and respect matter in a restaurant, and it’s those little things that make a world of a difference. Would give 5 stars for our waitress and food, but I’m giving it 4 stars because it still has some etiquette to work on overall.

This place is a hidden gem in my hometown of Massapequa. Everything is always fresh and the staff is consistently friendly. My family favorite is the Spicy Tuna Gyoza appetizer; AMAZING.

Love this sushi place. We had a special roll and then the sushi for 2. Everything was excellent! Spicy when I wanted it to be. Fish was fresh and melt in your mouth. It was a little pricey but most sushi is. A little bit too fancy for kids. Just FYI. Can’t wait to go back

I don’t go to restaurants for the décor, I go for the food. With that being said, the quality of the food did not match the décor. My fiancé and I arrived to an almost empty restaurant on a Thursday evening expecting great food. What we experienced was the complete opposite. Are they under new management/new chefs? Anyway, for appetizers, I chose to order the Tuna sashimi salad and the oyster yaki and my fiancé went with the gyoza. While the black pepper tuna in the salad was great tasting, the onion soy dressing was too oniony and overpowering and the oysters were only okay. while I didn’t taste any garlic butter sauce, I did get a mouthful of oil in each and every bite. I don’t recommend ordering those. I’ve had sautéed oysters in similar restaurants over the years and they’ve always been great. Not here. The dumplings were surprisingly delicious. Onto the main event. For entrees, I was actually going to order a sushi/sahimi platter but changed my mind at the last minute. I went with one of the special rolls and was disappointed. I ordered one of the most popular rolls here, the 2012 roll and it was disgusting. Not only did it fall apart, it was so sweet and oily, making it completely inedible. I managed to force down three pieces. This roll was terrible. All I tasted was grease, mango and coconut. I didn’t know that anything was cooked in this roll. My fiancé’s first dish of pan fried noodles were worse. The sauce tasted off. He sent it back for the Yaki udon noodles with chicken. This dish was way better. He didn’t seem to mind, but I took a look at the receipt and noticed that they charged him for the more expensive dish. Way to go for customer service. With cheap chopsticks and uncomfortable chairs, we won’t return.

I have to say that I really think Ginza is at the top of the sushi game on Long Island. It’s the trendy, modern space with a youthful vibe you’ve come to expect from any sushi joint. A good list of cocktails and sake, a bar up front, a sushi bar in the middle, and a dining space in the back. Creative sushi rolls, and most importantly, it’s no where near as expensive as the places commonly considered the best on LI(Kotobuki and Nisen Woodbury). I’m keeping this review short because I’ve tried like 15 different rolls here, so for me to describe everything I liked would just take forever… so if you haven’t been here yet, give it a shot and you can’t miss with anything on the menu.

Can’t go wrong here. I met my son &2 friends here after work for some adult beverages & good food. They took the land & sea roll off the menu waaahhhh! But I found a new favorite on the appetizer menu. The pork & shrimp dumplings with Peanut sauce. LAWDYMISSCLAWDY, I think I’m hooked! They were so good, I tried to go back the next day but I got there too early. Next time I’m ordering 2 orders of dumplings!

Just moved nearby and I think this place is going to be my new sushi spot! Came with a friend, we had the Kani salad(delicious), miso soup(inexpensive $ 3 and good) and we shared 2 specialty rolls. Red Devil roll — delicious! We also shared what was I believe called the flaming roll. It is raw sushi that they wrap in tin foil and set on fire to cook at the table. Great to brag on instagram/snapchat… ANDDELICOUS?! DOUBLESCORE. –Our waitress was sweet and answering all our annoying questions. –It was clean inside which is always something I look for when I’m eating raw fish at a restaurant. –I will be coming back and you should get this place out!

They honored our reservation!!! Mothers Day and crowded and we were escorted right to our table. The food for the most part was very good. Our group of 5 ordered enough for 10 and only had one disappointment.(The rock shrimp tempura.) The spicy dumplings in peanut sauce were exceptional. Sushi and sashimi beautiful to look at and delicious to taste. Our rolls different and good. Hot entrees from the kitchen(chicken and salmon) came out as requested. Service not quite up to the kitchen but still very acceptable. But, to be honest, the fact that they honored our reservation makes this a restaurant that goes into the rotation.

My fiancé and I went to this local sushi Japanese style restaurant with another couple. Food and services were both excellent. Every dish, appetizers and main courses were all creative and awesome. While I dont’ eat sushi, my friends said it was amazing. Waitress was extremely knowledgeable and answered all my fiancé chef questions. Oh one thing I must say you try is the fried tempura cheese cake.

Great place! This has become the go-to spot when I’m spending the weekend with CG and we happen to crave sushi. It’s in a weird location — behind a White Castle — but you can’t miss it. The trendy, bold exterior extends to the inside tenfold with sleek and shiny fixtures in a black/grey/red scheme, huge warrior statues every which way, hanging indoor chairs by the bar, etc — you get the idea. Even so, I didn’t find it overwhelming. It’s definitely a great date spot. Service has been great the 3 times that we’ve been here. Always seated promptly and with a smile. We’re suckers for fancy, non traditional special rolls so that’s what we’ve ordered each time. We’ve gotten through about half of the special rolls on the menu, 3 or 4 each visit, and they’re all been wonderfully fresh, huge and visually appetizing. There’s one on there that has goat cheese in it which is way too weird even for me so that will not make the cut! Anyway, standouts include the ridiculously named sexy model roll(spicy tuna, crunch, ikura, scallion, topped with tuna) and ginza roll(rock shrimp tempura, avocado, asparagus tempura, king crab and lemon chili vinaigrette). Yum! Definitely pricey, with rolls ranging from $ 12 – 22 but on par with other trendy sushi spots that I’ve visited. Ginza will continue to be a regular spot for us.
