I can’t believe they’re still in business. Maria,(the owner, who claims to be a «colorist») fried my best friend’s sister’s hair from bleach, where it was literally breaking off. STAYAWAY!!!

I had high expectations for this place given the high prices and recommendation by a stranger. Unfortunately for me, I got the most uneven haircut of my life a few days ago. It looked ok after it was put it place with a flat iron but once I washed my hair it was a complete disaster. As consumers we trust that higher-end hairstylists keep up with modern cuts and trends, but more often than not, they don’t. I am ok paying top dollar when hairstylist know what they are doing, but this was not the case here. Will never return or recommend anybody.

I love this salon! While looking for a new salon I stumbled upon this local spot. Not only is the décor posh and inviting, but the stylists are phenomenal! Courtney is the BEST for cut and color. She always takes the time to review what I am having done and is very attentive to what I request. Her blow-outs are legendary! I don’t know what she does to my hair, but it lasts for 2 – 3 days without looking greasy or weighed down. I usually have to wash my hair daily, but not after Courtney works her magic on my locks!

If you have curly hair this isn’t the salon for you!!! I made an appointment with Stephanie twice to have my hair highlighted. I continually explained to her that I wanted subtle caramel highlights running through my hair. The first time I left I had a reverse ombré with gold at the top then dark brown at the bottom. The second time I went back I left with dark brown at the top and light reddish brown at the bottom. I can’t fathom why it is hard for a skilled beautician to run highlights evenly through curly hair! Do you only work on straight? As a Professional you need to know how to work on all hair types and textures. Days later sadly I am still underwhelmed with her work. I will say though that Candice did a great job blowing out my hair and she really took her time and chatted with me as if I was a friend and not a client. Though the salon is clean and convenient I won’t be going back.

Erica is the best. Came in to fix my hair that was done wrong so many times(at another salon). I came out with even, perfect caramel brown highlights. I was nervous having had terrible experiences with highlighting in the past, but Erica worked her magic and it turned out beautiful.

I had a «welcome to the neighborhood» coupon for a free haircut so tried LuMara out back in November. I was in desperate need of a haircut and my usual place is now a bit of a hike. My appointment was at 7pm and I had to wait a few minutes. That means I got to look around. It seems like a nice place. The layout is a little choppy but everything’s new and in good condition. Nicole cut my hair and did a nice job. I would go back.

I Love Lumara! I have been a client at Lumara Salon for almost 5 years now and I couldn’t be happier with my choice. I Love everyone there! The salon is very clean and beautiful. The staff is very professional, extremely educated, super creative and always accomodating. They are always ‘in the know’ on whats up and coming for trends in the beauty business. I have referred at least 5 women to Lumara. My hair is a walking billboard and I couldn’t be happier to send them the business! Everytime I leave Lumara I feel like a newer prettier me. Not only can you get your hair done, they also offer a variety of other services like makeup, manis, pedis, massages and facials! It’s a great place to feel New and Improved… I would not go anywhere else.

Maria and the friendly ladies of Lumara fix my hair problem no matter what it is– thinning, grown out highlights– and do it very nicely always to my satisfaction. I’ve been to salons in Chelsea, Queens, and various places on Long Island, but this place beats them all out in terms of quality of hair cuts and colors as well as friendliness. It’s not close to where I live but I return here every few months anyway. Thanks!

I have been coming to this salon since it opened and have always had a wonderful experience. The salon is beautiful modern and extremely clean. It reminds me of Salons that you see in Manhattan. The staff and owner are very professional, creative, knowledgable and extremely accommodating. They really go above and beyond to make«you» the customer happy. Each and every time I go there, I walk out feeling like a million bucks… What I love is you can get your hair cut colored and highlighted… manicure, pedicure, and even a massage… and the list goes on and on…, its one stop shopping at its finest. I live in queens and come to Lumara in Massapequa… because they are just that good… I cant imagine ever getting my hair done anywhere else.

DONOTGOTOTHISPLACE. THEOWNERLITERALLYSAID, «I don’t have time to deal with you right now.» when we asked to be accommodated simply because we did not need manicures and asked if it was possible to exchange for another service. We were given a flat out NO — fine. We were there for 4 hours total, after waited two hours after scheduling an appointment 4 months in advance. I repeat DONOTCOMEHERE.

I had a travel zoo coupon for a facial, mani and pedi for 39 $ so it was definitely a good deal. The facial was awesome. Mani and pedi were good, Probably wouldn’t go back without a coupon.
