I love this place. It’s a buffet, so I wasn’t expecting much… But the selection was a lot to choose from from sushi to seafood to the meats and vegetables and the salad bar… And soups! Food was fresh and delicious. You can pay by the LB and carry out or dine in and eat as much as you can. I usually carry out and get enough food for two for around 10 bucks. Today I chose to dine in and gorge myself on the sushi and seafood! Food is comparable to a higher end Asian restaurant. Pretty pretty pretty good!

Better than your average buffet. My previous, more lengthy review got deleted. Here is a short one. Food: 4⁄5. They don’t drown food in salt. Favs: Steak, Sushi, Ice cream Atmosphere: 3⁄5 Unremarkable, average Service: 4⁄5 Solid. Napkins, drinks, taking dirty dishes were all done in a quick manner. Friendly staff. Restroom: 4⁄5 Better than I expected. Clean with a modern look. Misc: No waiting, free tea, fortune cookies, online coupon I payed roughly $ 14(with tax) tip was separate using the online coupon. Better than DJ’s(garden city), Chen’s(levittown), and Century Super Buffet(Queens). If you can spend more(about $ 24/person), I would go to Mizumi. Overall, I would recommend to anyone and I will come back in the future.

Bonnie G. And I decided a romp to Sunrise Mall for Ruby Sushi Buffet was a good idea for Friday night. We arrived around 9pm and the place was EMPTY! Last visit was packed? we wondered if someone got sick or a bad review was keeping people away. This visit was mostly negative in that the quality of the food seems to have gone down. The Sushi bar was lacking and the salmon looked anemic in both the sushi and sashimi. The fish basically was tasteless. We love Snow Crab Legs but they were very small and nothing like the large ones served last visit… Bah! I was disappointed by the raw shellfish. Oysters were just ok but I had a clam that had the consistancy of an oyster but tasted off… very strange… waited to get stomach pains but was lucky! The only dish really enjoyed were the spare ribs… meaty and tasty. In conclusion, we have written Ruby Sushi Buffet off and will not return as there are many much better Buffets from which to partake. Forget for a minute about the fact that its the cheapest buffet, rather consider that taste and quality as well as choices are the important factors. You get what you pay for!

Decent Asian buffet. Seems a step above some others I’ve tried I still prefer a nice sit down and be served place.

3.5 stars. Chinese buffets are not meant to be fine dining experiences so let’s get that one out of the way. The place is clean and the food is fresh. Sure, you may have to knockout a grandma for the crab legs but again, it’s a Chinese buffet so mange your expectations and go with your game face on. I don’t know of anywhere else you can have your fill of oysters and crabs legs for $ 15. I do steer clear of the peel and eat shrimp because although I get that it’s about volume, I can’t stand shrimp that isn’t deveined. Who wants to eat poop?! There’s no booze but flasks were invented for a reason.

I’m such a glutton for buffets lately. I think with Ruby Buffet I’ve pretty much exhausted all the surrounding Asian buffet places to try out. Ruby Buffet is definitely one of the busiest buffet places I’ve been in a while and I think definitely has to do with their location. While not exactly inside the Sunrise Mall they share the same parking lot and do get quite a lot of foot traffic. I had a bit a trouble finding them as they’re more toward the end of the mall parking lot so don’t panic if you don’t see them when you turn in from rt. 27 The wait itself wasn’t too bad as we just spent some time walking in the malls while waiting for our table. But if you have a larger group definitely recommending making reservations. The seating area itself is smaller than the other similar buffet places I’ve been to and especially on the night we visited they had a party in the back which further increased waiting time for larger tables. The food though is definitely better than I expected. for $ 14.99 dinner I wasn’t expecting snow crab legs to show up quite constantly but they really do a good job keeping that hot item tray filled as often as possible. While certainly doesn’t meet my all time favorite snow crabs buffet at Minado, for the price the food is certainly very well worth it. The steak and pork chop I’ve had were also quite superb and I have to say a step above what I’ve come to expect at Asian buffets. The rest of the line ups are pretty decent as well although certainly not as memorable as the crab legs. The food line up is perhaps less than other bigger restaurants however its about 3 tables of trays plus another row for sushi. So no room for hibachi grills unfortunately. They do have good toppings for the ice cream machine and that’s always a plus for adults and kids :) Since seating area is bit smaller it can be kind of crowded to navigate through especially when people are moving around. The server we had worked pretty diligently and overall the service was great. Bathroom like others have mentioned is actually quite nice and clean and I suspect it was recently remodeled. Bottom line since I’m such a fan for crab legs would really recommend this place. If you look forward to more variety of food this place might not quite fill your needs. Lastly as many people have mentioned they have online coupons usually $ 1 – 2 off. Unfortunately it looks like they’re making you to print them out beforehand which honestly makes it a bit more of a hassle, but certainly worth the trouble if you are planning a meal here.

Very nice place clean bathrooms food is always hot and refilled promptly no waiting BUT they could have some bubble tea that would be great and more dessert options we came for our sons birthday and they had a heart cake and candle it was very nice of them and the sushi is amazing very clean and prepared fresh we come here when ever we are in the area for lunch or dinner just print the $ 2 off coupon if you can before going but it is a nice roomy place great for families and adult groups — just bring your appetite because there is a lot of food to choose to eat

Stopped here yesterday after reading other reviews. It’s decent on the food end. That said, 2 adults and 3 children(2 drinks only) cost $ 71.78 before tip. YIKES! The $$ rating should be ATLEAST $$$. Not at all worth the cost.

It’s not a fancy buffet by any means, but it has all of necessary items of a good buffet and they do everything pretty well. More importantly, the«kan tai» lady(who refills the entrees) does an excellent job. Everything is refilled at the perfect frequency, from both a customer and a owner’s perspective, so that nothing is wasted and everyone gets what they need. Only complaint is that the location is impossible to find, GPS kept pointing me to other side of Sunrise Highway.

Great in all the ways that an Asian buffet should be. I drove 20 miles because of the great Unilocal reviews and I was not disappointed. It was a bit hard to find using my Android GPS and it should be up front in the google map description that it is part of a mall so you gotta drive to the back of the mall and there it is. Excellent sushi, excellent hot and sour soup, lots of veggies to choose from.

I really like the ambiance of this restaurant it’s very spacious and neat. The food is pretty ok except calamares was too salty for my taste. The price is pretty good since its a buffet. I love their desserts tho and raspberry tea :)

Ruby Buffet is an enterprising newly emerging regional Asian buffet with 6 east coast restaurants. They have eat in or take out options, how cool is that. way to go. Cool vibe at Ruby Buffet — not weird in any way. Food was all recognizable. You can head in there and find, attractive sushi rolls, perfectly grilled green beans, fresh spinach, fresh clams with a nice garlic sauce, And plenty of other items had to laugh. Texas toast(don’t do it!) Peel & Eat shrimp for people that need to race over and pile them(farm raised /don’t do it!) BBQ skewers, fried fish, dim sum etc. Cool young people working there(not indentured and flinging sushi like DJ’s)(or afraid of tips like Best). The place is newish and clean. Parking is right out back. This is a good place to go if you want to be in and out and save time. Tip the sushi guys :) They are pleasant. Once again, only after 10 requests from my mother that I met her here for lunch. tried in the summer, didn’t review, tried again, and found myself realizing they are cool here. Prices are on the low side, tip the sushi guys! Lol

If I can give a negative star, i would give a negative star the food is fair, nothing excited… no different than chinese take out. But the person who answer the call(or i should say their policy) is simply ridiculous!!! I wonder if they understand what ‘RESERVATION’ means. I called to make a reservation, and they asked me with all the information. At the end of the call, they said there is no guarantee with the table. So WHATISTHEPOINT of making reservation!!! They said they don’t have reservation, so why asked me with all the freaking questions! Even though you don’t have reservation, but please talk with patient! They are just so rude on the phone! Definitely won’t return back. Service is everything

The food selection is good. Five buffet tables, over 100 items. Sushi tempura, fresh fruits, seafood bisque, cheese cake. Place is clean. Price is great, more than my expectation; with the online coupon, $ 7.59 for lunch, 8.99 for dinner, better than the food court.

I came to this Buffet last year for Father’s Day with my father and husband. It was a last minute decision because we knew we wanted to go to a buffet, but didn’t know which one to go to that day. Usually, we went to Chen’s Buffet , but we decided to try something new. Ruby Buffet was advertising all-you-can-eat-lobster. The all-you-can-eat-lobster, cooked Cantonese style, is only available for Father’s day(and I’m not sure if they offer it any other holiday), but the staff told me it was that day only. The buffet is located at Sunrise Mall, but I was so confused about how to get to Ruby Buffet that I had to ask a few people in the mall before actually walking to the right place. It’s a bit hard to find if you are not used to visiting the Sunrise Mall. I honestly don’t remember how much I paid for lunch, but it was higher than their regular price because it was a holiday and they were serving lobster. I think I paid around $ 12 a person, which is still not bad in my opinion. The restaurant itself is very spacious, but the buffet area is very small. Still, to discourage people from taking too much lobster or wasting it, there was a staff member standing there to serve the lobster and each time, I would get a spoonful. Still, the lobster tasted great! How can I complain? I can’t talk much about the other food because it was a standard buffet. For anyone coming here regularly, I would check the local circulars or Valpak for coupons or even their website though I couldn’t use mine for special holidays like this one. I didn’t have much of a problem with the buffet. I still missed Chen’s Buffet though and this restaurant is further away from me than Chen’s. I had a great time and everyone was satisfied. The staff greeted us out on the way out and asked us to come again. I will definitely come again if they have the lobster promotion again. PROS: all-you-can-eat-lobster(if available) CONS: Location was a bit hard to find

I came here with a friend tonight whose been here before and recommended it. I was really in the mood for a lot of sushi. Overall, I would recommend this place– there are definitely a bunch of things that I liked about this place but also a few things that I didn’t. First of all, the food selection for a buffet was pretty good, especially the sushi– which was fresh, delicious and interesting. Overall, the price of only $ 14.99 is outstanding for the quality of the food, and it’s open until 10 pm! The bathroom was spotless and décor was pleasant– always a plus! The only reason why I am not giving them a 5⁄5 is : 1. They do not serve any alcohol and usually I don’t mind but most buffets I have at least have the option of getting wine or beer and I was actually in the mood for wine. 2. The customer service– The staff could have been a little bit more attentive especially when it came to seeing if we needed more water. When I asked for more water, they brought out a cup that smelled and tasted like chlorine or dishwashing detergent. We told them and asked for another glass, and they understood and this one also tasted and smelled like chlorine. Other than those two factors, I would definitely come back again and recommend this place to others but I hope the water was a one time thing.

To be fair, my review is more like a 3.5 Stopped in to take out after work today. Had a serious sushi craving but wasn’t in the mood to spend a whole lot of money. I have been hearing mostly good things about this place so I decided to stop by. When we entered we were immediately greeted by the sweet hostess. She handed us(my sister and I) a styrofoam to-go container each after specifying we were taking out. Immediately I noticed how clean this place was. Usually Chinese buffets are kind of grimey, but this place was the opposite! Around 3 pm there were also many patrons! So we made our way to the food. A whole area for sushi. It all looked fresh. I mean, quality wasn’t perfect but it was pretty good. The best I’ve seen locally for a buffet. Portions were on the smaller side but since it’s a buffet you can eat more, so no big. I took 3 pieces of salmon sushi, a few pieces of random rolls, crab Rangoon, dumplings, and crab cakes. The food was good. The dumplings though were particularly delicious! For both of us our total came to $ 17. Our containers were full and so were we at the end. I’d definitely come back here, especially for take out!
