Absolutely love this place. Fish is fresh, rolls are creative, staff are the best!

the kani salad was the best i have ever had so that is a plus, we ordered a yellow tail jalapeño roll, shrimp tempura roll and the Stephanie roll and a sweet potato roll. the yellow tail in the roll and the Stephanie tasted off, was grey and sorta slimy. the jalapeño in the roll was not fresh it was pickled. so wasn’t too happy with the food, the space is nice i love the floor seating and the green tea was yummy but entirely too hot. while yes it is a hot tea but each refill plus the original i had to wait at least 10 min for it to cool down. bottle of hot sake was good not too strong or have the lingering typical aftertaste, they are open till 1am so that works out great but then with the fresh quality of the sushi makes me think maybe not so great.

I was introduced to this place a couple of years ago by a friend who lived near the area. We used to go in every now and then for some rolls and food at night. The décor and layout is very nice. Tables in the middle section while there are some traditional sit down booths that surround part of the dining area. Staff is very courteous and friendly. They constantly check in to make sure all is well and are attentive. I like the fact that they see open late on week nights(till 1am) as it does work better with scheduling on my end. At one point I became one of their super regulars coming in to eat quite often. The menu has a good mix of Japanese and some Chinese dishes. If you like dim sum, they do have har gow which is the steamed shrimp dumplings. Personal favorite dishes are the teriyaki combos and certain rolls. I kept ordering so much food for myself they wondered why I was always so hungry. I just told them I like to eat. Dessert options included tempura(fried) ice cream and mochi ice cream. Proper shootout to the owner which is a venerable man, the night lady who had a beer toast with me one time(apologies I forgot your name) and at night Bryan and Mark who all work very diligently. Although it has been quite some time since I have dined at this particular establishment I definitely recommend Tai Show to anyone who likes sushi and good Asian cuisine.

Always a good spot to visit! The staff here is ridiculously nice. They usually give free sake and shots at the end of the meal and they take them with you. The food is delicious too. Hibachi choices and a wide variety of sushi. The Million Dollar Roll is superb. #noBSfood

Good service, consistently great food at a fair cost. My fiancé and I always enjoy coming here, in fact it may be our all around favorite. We’ve tried other similar restaurants but they never measure up which leaves us wishing we had just come here to begin with. Always a great experience.

Came here and sat down with my wife and ordered 2 hibachi dinners and was told they couldn’t start the grill until more came. Funny as how all other hibachi places start it after 2 people. Not to mention I’m spending $ 60 plus tax and gratuity. I took my business elsewhere and found a great spot because of it. Better food better service.

Fresh sushi and friendly customer service. Love the many options in the special rolls. The Tuna Tataka is hands down the best I’ve ever had. My husband always orders the Sesame Chicken and Fried Rice. He says it’s delicious! We regularly drive 20 – 25 min from our house to come here.

Tai Show has been one of my favorite sushi spots for some time. Close to home, friendly service that remembers you and quality food. They know how to treat their costumers and have acquired a loyal customer base. Their parking lot is spacious and they are open late which contributes to their success in my eyes. The wait for a table(or booth) is never more than 15 minutes when I have been. They allow small parties(2) to use the booths which I think is awesome. I also noticed each of the booths is named after a different city in Japan. Wine, beer, sake and cocktails are available. Great spicy mayo. Their food is fresh, however I normally go for specialty rolls here. Sashimi and sushi are OK but on the 2 occasions I ordered the sashimi platter for 1 I was left satisfied, not WOWED. Still an awesome spot if you’re going out with friends(the staff definitely has a party mentality). All around clean, efficient and awesome.

If you like being packed in like a sardine, having to wait 45 min for your table after making a reservation then this is the place for you! I usually wait for the food to come out to write my review but I’m just plain angry after this visit. Ordered a drink more then 15 min ago still waiting, apps came before the drinks without soy sauce plates. So food came out It was okay. Steak was chewy and fatty but other then that, no complaints lol.

I am not a person who awards 5 stars lightly. Tai Show has consistently been in my opinion the best sushi/japanese restaurant in New York. I’ve been to the so called high end or boutique Japanese place in Manhattan and none of them can match Tai Show’s sushi in freshness and presentation. You can simply not to any better in that regard. Are there more updated restaurants around? Sure, but in my opinion this is so much less important than food quality and service. In that regard you simply cannot do any better than Tai Show. Must haves — King Salmon, Spanish Mackerel when available. Any of the special rolls are amazing depending on your likes or dislikes. Dont leave without having a Saki Bomb.

The combo dinner for two was well worth the price. The calamari was a little chewy. The filet mignon & shrimp was excellent. Shrimp were a nice size and the filet mignon was very tender. The Rock & Roll suchi roll with eel, avocado and Caviar was a generous portion. The dinner comes with soup, salad and vegetables. The Hibachi rice is extra but worth it. Make sure you let them know if you are celebrating a birthday. They bring out a fruit platter with candles, sing Happy Birthday and take your photo. The chef’s all put in a nice dinner show.

I having been coming to this place for years with my family and I love it! My most recent experience was with their Lunch specials. I decided to take two of my friends who were visiting from Ireland here and we had such a wonderful time. They especially loved the sliding doors on the booths. Such a cool authentic touch! We all decided to go for the lunch special Bento Boxes, and at $ 14 a box it is a really great deal. I picked box B which had a choice of shrimp, chicken, beef or salmon teriyaki, choice of 2 apps, a California roll, rice and miso soup. I got the salmon teriyaki along with shumai and gyoza. All of the food was really tasty. Also, be warned it is a lot of food! We all had trouble finishing. Luckily we had my boyfriend there who came to the rescue and was able to help us finish all our food! The service is great too! Our waitress was lovely. She was chatting with us and cracking jokes the whole time we were there! I can’t wait to come back here again. The lunch special is really worth the trip there alone!

Dine or Ditch? Dine… I’m bringing my chopsticks and I’ll meet you there! This is a pretty regular spot for me. My friend turned me on to the sashimi appetizer that comes in half an avocado with ponzu sauce and it’s been my thing ever since. Honestly, it’s all you need and it’s $ 10. I’ve gotten other rolls and they’ve all been pretty good, but I’ve yet to find anything better than this app and I just get it as my meal along with a soup or seaweed salad. They also bring this cucumber snack before the meal which is awesome. I always look forward to that. And finally, the mints they give you after are delicious. I know it’s a silly thing, but honestly, it’s good enough in comparison to literally EVERYWHERE else that I’m noting it… so yeah, it’s crazy, but it’s true. I recommend this place even if it’s a bit out of the way. It’s better than most sushi places I’ve come across.

Visit Date: March 11, 2015 We came here for my MIL’s birthday dinner. Personally I’m not a hibachi fan. I enjoy watching the show but I do not eat any meat so I can’t order anything being made by the hibachi chef. This place was pretty good though. The hibachi chef was very entertaining. He cracked jokes here and there and the best thing was that he had a squirt bottle of sake that he squirted in the mouth’s of willing participants. I do not usually post personal photos on Unilocal, just photos of my food but when I get around to it I will post a photo of my husband downing sake from a squirt bottle like a champ! I had the vegetable tempura dinner. It came with a soup and salad, but I couldn’t eat my soup because there was meat in it. The salad was good, the veggies were fresh and the dressing wasn’t too bitter. Sometimes when they serve the mashed up dressing in certain Japanese places the dressing is too bitter or too citrusy. The vegetable tempura was good, it was your average veggie tempura. The green tea I drank was pretty amazing! If you’re a hibachi person this is a great place to eat at.

I have had the best times at this restaurant! The fish is always fresh, the kitchen is clean(my friend is an exterminator) and the staff is very friendly! They have an extensive sushi menu with many combination plates and special rolls. The staff overall are very friendly and the manager and chefs interact with you depending on what you want from the dining experience(some prefer to be romantic and sit alone and others like to do sake bombs!) It’s open late during the week and weekends which was a huge plus for me and my sometimes crazy schedule. They have multiple locations and all of them are unique in their ways and menus vary but the quality of food is always at it’s best. The presentation of the food is art!

Love the private booths! Make a reservation and secure the booth great for privacy and reduces the noise. Comfortable with alot of pillows and no longer need to take the shoes off! Sushi is extremely fresh and have alot of great specials. Favorite roll is spicy tuna with crunch. If you order alot of rolls comes in a boat, great touch and great presentation.
