My favorite sub shop in the area! It is what it is — a basic sub shop. One kind of bread, lettuce, tomato, onions, mayo, oil and vinegar to top your sub. That’s it. But they are very generous with their meats — you will not be disappointed. Each sandwich is made to order with good quality ingredients. Breakfast is amazing too! Love the porkroll and cheese with salt, pepper, and ketchup yum!!! I’ve been coming here for years and will continue to go forever! Love this place! Wish I could bring it to north jersey!

A standard sub place. Inside looked a little dirty, but hey, we were hungry and and decided to give it a try. We split a full sized Italian sandwich and it was large and very filling, I couldn’t even finish my half! The sandwich had a good amount of meat in it, but I personally did not like their bread(too fluffy). I would prefer to get a sandwich from DeMarco’s across the street or at Jersey Mike’s, but will definitely stop by if I am looking for a quick sandwich at night.

Subpar at best. Got the #6 with everything on it… Not enough of the everything and the ham was incredibly salty. Place is tiny and not very clean. They use lesser quality meats, which are mixed and matched(I noticed Hormel and Thumann’s. Hormel, for real?) Only accepts cash. Plus side is the sandwich(I got a half) is large and cheap… But more of meh, who cares right? Won’t be coming back here.

This place is under-average at best. I ordered a Buffalo Chicken sub that was a new addition to the menu. The first thing I missed out on was cheese. Apparently you have to request cheese and I did not know this. When I asked if they had blue cheese, the woman looked at me like I just stole her meth pipe. At the previous two venues that I’ve ordered a buffalo chicken sub it was a hot sub, but I guess it was my fault for not asking. The actual sub was very dry and bland and all I tasted was the buffalo chicken lunch meat. There were 6 open tables but 5 of them were dirty and so we only had one option. Not sure why they couldn’t be cleaned when nobody else was in the restaurant while we were eating.

Since I live in Virginia now, I only get up to NJ to visit occasionally. I make a point of going here at least once every visit. Best subs I have ever had. I’m going today. :)

Good place to grab a sub. They have a good amount of options. They slice the deli meat for your sandwich right in front of you. I have eaten here multiple times and every time the food was great. A half size sub is enough for one person and maybe even too much for one person. Only negative is that it is Cash Only but they do have an ATM in the store.

I have been coming here for years but I’ve eaten my last D A sub on Saturday. The girls are terrible they are always in a pissy mood to everyone old or young. The bread was stale and even after I said no salt the little witch still put it on. The place is dirty and the meat is of poor quality. I do like the owner but he seems to be done put a fork in him and this place oh I also got sick from my last sub So Long Crabby!!!

The size of the subs aren’t the issue. It’s the quality of the ingredients. There is absolutely nothing that would make me visit this place again. It reminds me of getting a pre made sandwich at quick check… fine if you’re in a pinch and just need fuel, but nothing you’d go out of your way to get. If I can I drive to Keyport to Mike’s subs to get the best sub in the area. If I don’t have that kind of time, getting a sub at Demarco’s or Livoti’s is a much better option than DA subs. It just doesn’t even come close to «scratching the itch» when you’re in the mood for a great nj Sub.

Two girls that provided Angry service should be fired cause no one will return with such pissy faces and horrible attitude. Badly made subs. I’m better of at Taco Bell across the street.

Cracks me up about the hands, gloves, handling money issues. I would agree that restaurants should be. more cognizant of sanitary procedures, but what really has me scratching my head is that these very same customers, including myself, hand over money to the cashier, money that’s been handled by who knows how many people previously. Then with the very same bare hand they reach and touch their change from the cashier. They then go to a table, without ever washing their hands, and touch their food. WTF is the difference? I’ve seen it a thousand times. Think about it. Even when the cashier is ideally performing cash register duties only, no food handling, the majority of customers contaminate their own food by not practicing what they preach. And please! The human immune system requires a lot more than money handling to make you sick!

We have been here for almost 20 years whenever we are in the mood for a good sub. The prices are reasonable and the cold cuts are fresh. Be careful that only take cash. The bread especially is delicious and always fresh and soft, but too doughy. There are a few tables to sit but dont go for the atmosphere. There is a tv to watch and there are newspapers on the tables. I recommend this place.

My go to place in the Matawan /Aberdeen area for subs. Decent prices and they aren’t cheap with the amount of meat on your sandwich. It is a CASHONLY business though so make sure you have $$$ on you so you don’t have to use their ATM.

I could eat here once a week for the rest of my life. Subs here are huge and cheaper than most chains for twice as much food. Meat is sliced fresh for your sub, bread is always soft and fresh. Yeah, their toppings are incredibly basic, and the inside hasn’t changed in 20 years but if you want atmosphere and arugula on your sub this isn’t the place for you. If they made my sandwich with the gloves they wore cleaning the toilet, cursing at me as they slice my cheese, I would still go here because they make a damn good sub, end of story.

I came in here to get a sandwich a few weeks back. The place is disgusting it looks like they threw a coat of paint on the wall and threw the signs above the cahsier and then opened the place. However i know better then to judge a book by its cover ao i let that pass. But then as im deciding what to eat, what i assume is the owners daughter came out. Maybe 15 years old. She then started making the sandwich. Her hair was down on her shoulders and she put no gloves on let alone washed her hands. After seeing that i walked out. Its one thing to have a dirty resturant but when your UNDERAGED cook is also dirty. Idc how good there food is or isnt. Its a gross restuanrt with gross workers. I wont be returnig.

The subs are big and they are generous with the meat. However, it would be more tasty & less dry if they were generous with the dressing. Chicken parmesan was nasty! I would have been hungry if my husband didn’t share his sub. Chicken salad was bland & went into the garbage with chicken parm. We won’t be returning!

Subs are ok, not gonna blow you away if you’re used to good nj sub shops but better then the chains. The place looks like hell and they don’t take debit or credit which is annoying.

I absolutely loved their tuna melt«subs» until today when it took a half an hour to complete my order and they gave me white sliced bread instead of the sub roll I asked for. Sub roll… sub… I don’t think the two can get easily confused. I requested that only the bread be changed and they didn’t need to reheat the bread in the oven and when I was getting my condiments, one of the sandwich prep girls gave me an attitude. I overlooked the long wait time, the unsanitary conditions, the questionable meat slicer that looked like it hadn’t been cleaned in a long time to come here just for this sandwich. There’s nothing unique about it other than it is convenient and after today, I definitely will NOT ever be coming back here and will not be making any referrals for this place.

Cheap and good for you value. The subs are huge. They really pile up the meat on these things. The toppings are more limited than even your typical subway. The place needs fixing up. The place looks aged and had its hayday in the 90s. The counter’s edge is cracked and needs fixing. The meat display needs a new light. There is just alot of fixing that needs to be done. They need to better up their hygiene. They have one dirty rag for everything. They even touch money with their gloves. My sandwich even tasted kinda dirty. The workers need to be more professional. They kid around and that is okay but they should try to clean up a bit and be more warm. They just look depressed all the time.

Decently priced subs considering how much meat they put. The lettuce was kind of old looking, and there weren’t too many vegetable options. Once the sub was all put together, it tasted decent.
