Milk Box

The Milk Box is all I have ever needed in a deli. Always a friendly place. Old school and no frills. They serve up some fresh simple food. One thing I love is that somehow I get away with ordering a pork roll sandwich on the later side of the morning and into the afternoon! Most delis will not do this and its always ticked me off. I mean, c’mon! Pork roll is NJ’s hangover cure! It should be available anytime anywhere. The subs are generously portioned. The cold cuts are fresh as well as the veggies. I have to try the burgers here. Another thought is that they are open later than most delis of this type. That is also another huge plus. There is a nice selection of drinks and Boylan sodas. Don’t forget a Mega Millions ticket! 5 stars.

One of the few mom and pop shops in the area. Vin and Karen keep the old deli ambience, while maintaining a very diverse menu. Orders can be called in for pick-​up and the hot pastrami is to die for. Easy to miss on 34rt but I promise you won’t be disappointed. Fast, clean and genuinely good people running in. What more could you ask for from a local deli! Hmmmmm let’s see. A small joint on 34 in matawan. Multiple businesses within the area. I like those whole in the wall places I’ll try it. Boy am I glad I did. It may not be a 5 star restaurant with a bar and hot waitresses but the food is delicious. Been back a couple times to try other items and have even picked up for a friend and they complimented the quality and taste. Don’t be afraid to break away from the chain places and give this a shot. Great little deli with really good prices and great food. Also a convenience store. Daily specials and weekly specials on cold cuts. Hot and cold sandwiches abound all day until they close (which I think is 8pm). You can also get milk, eggs, firewood, frozen desert treats, ketchup etc. There is place in the back to sit and eat as well. Long live the milk box!

I used stop at this store often when i worked across the street. Its a small stire but the prices are fair and they make a pretty good sandwich. The woman who is behind the counter most days is sweet. Nice little place to stop in for a quick snack!
