The Presbyterian Nursery School (PNS) was established in the 1970s and has a loyal local following and great reputation. It operates weekdays in the education wing of the First Presbyterian Church of Matawan on Route 34. I have been acquainted with a number of the teachers at this school over the years and can vouch for their experience, professionalism, caring and enthusiasm. I became acquainted with the founding director when I served as the PNS treasurer about 20 years ago. The classrooms and hallways are filled with colorful art projects that reflect the spirit of the students and their instructors. The school has a dedicated playground.
