Because I live around this area, I’ve always passed by and wondered how this place was. It is never short of a line in the summers and even when it isn’t «ice cream-weather», you’ll still see frequent customers. My husband and I tried it about a year ago and have been coming back ever since. It’s a small place, but they always seem to have a few people working so the line moves fast. The workers are always friendly. Aside from having many ice cream flavors and toppings, they also have cakes and other goodies(ex. ice cream sandwiches) in their freezer for sale. A favorite of mine has been the Ooey Gooey Oreo. My husband has ordered a few different flavors and I don’t recall having tasted one that I didn’t like. They have a few benches outside and the place itself is inside a mini mall so people tend to just hang out in the parking lot. If you’re craving something sweet, stop on by — you won’t regret it!

Whenever I go to this place its always packed. We’re usually waiting outside, but that’s a good thing right? CORRECT! It’s not because service is slow, NO! Its because the Ice Cream is Delicious. Rocky Road is the BEST we ever had. They also had this Raspberry, fudge, raspberry truffle OMG was it the best flavor I ever had! GOOEY Fudge… Ugh I’m craving it so much right now!

Good ice cream. However, some training is needed for the college kids. Push the darn ice cream down on top of the cone. If it falls off within 10 seconds of handing it to someone, remake the cone. Don’t just hand me a cup.(Especially after you and everyone else saw it hit your dirty counter.).

The best ice cream place around. I have been coming here for a very long time. I’m never dissapointed. They even give small samples if you say it’s for your dog outside.

If you like GOOD ice cream without all the frills of crazy flavors then come here! One of the top ice cream places in the area. Expect to see the standard flavors you love but perfected. They also make fantastic ice cream cakes with any of their flavors!

This is the dirtiest establishment I have ever been in. I’m not sure how the board of health has not shut them down. They are overpriced and the staff always seems annoyed. They have many people working behind the counter yet the same people handle the ice cream, toppings and handle your money.

Love the ice cream n the prices. Hate the sour puss faces and grumpy attitudes. The kids that work there are the worst. God forbid you order a shake. the grumps hate making them n don’t mind displaying it straight to your face

Not saying that I still don’t enjoy this place, but it is NOLONGERICECREAMPALACE! No, seriously. It’s not Ice Cream Palace. The prices have been jacked up accordingly, too. I got a small cup of hard ice cream and it was almost $ 3.50. My family and I got 2 small vanilla soft serve cones with chocolate shell and my small cup of hard ice cream and it was seriously almost $ 10.50. That’s kinda, sorta insane. The ice cream is awesome, there’s no doubt about that, but the prices? Seriously? It’s ice cream.

This is a classic ice cream shop that every town should have. The homemade ice cream is great. While they don’t have many choices, you know what they do have is fresh and very tasty. We stopped in the other day to grab a sundae and loved everything about it. The staff behind the counter were pleasant. The ice cream is priced right and there are lots of choices for toppings. No complaints here.

This place is no longer called Ice Cream Palace, and it is terrible. Bad atmosphere and bad service. My girlfriend asked for a waffle cone of vanilla ice cream with toppings on it and we were told, «we can’t do that anymore. They told us we can’t put toppings on a cone.» They shouldn’t even be in business much less considered an ice cream place. I’d give them a 0 star review if I could.

really good ice cream here and an added star for the great prices ! only missing a 5th star because there are no tables inside only outside benches. everyone behind the counter is happy and friendly. lots of toppings to add on to your sundae ! great shakes too.

The only redeeming factor is that the staff is very friendly. It’s dirty and over 100 degrees inside this tiny shack. The ice cream is average.

Locals swear by this place, but it was just average to me. I had coffee ice cream with chocolate sprinkles the one time I went here and was extremely disappointed, especially after being told that«it’s the best ice cream ever» by my neighbors who grew up in the area. Lots of better ice cream spots in the Matawan, including the freezer aisle at Shop Rite.

One of my favorite local places to visit during the sweltering summers in Monmouth County. May not look like much from the outside but they make quality ice cream.

I am a fan. Good local place. Good and inexpensive ice cream! One note — clean this place up. Paint the outside. Tighten up the inside with new pictures on the wall, and clean up the displays and mop the floors. I will keep coming back.

Love the local ice cream shop, it is a great little spot. The ice cream is all made at the store and you can definitely tell it isn’t mass produced. He hires local kids who have been working there for years and gives back to the community. Love the sugar free fat free ice cream, and the frozen bananas! You can not beat the prices.

Look, it’s a basic local ice cream shop. The floors will be sticky and the walls will sweat a little. Small price to pay for some good quality homemade treats. Get the banana ice cream and toss in a scoop of strawberry cheesecake flavor on top. You’ll thank me later.

Less like a palace, more like a shack. While the exterior could use a new coat of paint and the interior looks like it could use a good scrubbing/decluttering, the ice cream in this place is not bad. I’m always a fan of homemade ice cream. While sadly I found a few pieces of ice in my ice cream, the overall consistency was really creamy and I enjoyed my cookies and cream ice cream. There are definitely better ice cream joints out there(shout-out to Hoffmans and Ice Cream on 9). This place is really not bad, I’d come here again if convenient, but I wouldn’t drive out of my way.

This little blue roofed ice cream palace is my favorite ice cream shop growing up The humble and no fuss interior reminds me of great ice cream shops along the shore and it offers up lots of different flavors and sundaes. Ice cream palace has managed to survive the Carvel right across the street and as well as the Cold Stone within the same shopping center. Ice Cream Palace is a great option for a post movie treat on a warm summer night.
