The Sultan Wok

I use to order fairly frequently from here but I too had credit card numbers stolen — more than once as well. And to see other posts about the same problem, it’s outrageous that this place is still running. Oh and the food was alright, average, and the bubble teas were neat…

Guess what? After paying cash a couple of times, I decided to once again use my debit card at Sultan Wok. And guess what… I got hacked… again. This was the third time and the restaurant NEVER informed me although they knew their database was compromised. This is the last time for me.

Never use a credit card here or any other location. However, the food is good. Love the sushi.

Consistently decent eats, fairly priced. Not the most amazing ever, but the delivery is crazy-​fast and you can order online! Perfect for those days when you really want to minimize contact with the outside world :) definitely the go-​to delivery in Matawan.

Have been ordering for a couple of years now. The food was always good and delivery fast, however, two of my credit cards have had fraudulent charges on them. Cards were replaced and again, a few months later more fraud. Upon reading these reviews, it has occurred to me that each one had been used at the Sultan Wok of Matawan. So beware. I won’t order from them again.

When I saw all the comments regarding the cards being stolen, my whole family chimed in. It made sense. I guess it’s cash only. I have been using this place off and on for years. Sometimes it’s great sometimes pretty bad. Lately it’s been good. I guess it depends on who is cooking.

I have been ordering from this restaurant, as well as ordering from their other locations, for the past three years. I enjoy ordering from here because of the convenience of online ordering and paying online via credit card. I have also been a victim of fraud on many different credit cards over the past three years. It wasn’t until a few weeks ago that I realized the common link amongst all my cards: placing orders online with sultan wok.
I called the Matawan location to discuss the issue and was surprised when the MANAGER of the location stated that they knew the credit card numbers were being stolen and haven’t done anything about it. If you check out the reviews from their other locations, you will see this problem isn’t just at the Matawan location, but at all their locations.
In my opinion, the food will never be worth the identity theft and hundreds of dollars stolen from my bank accounts. If I could give zero stars, I would.

BE VERY, VERY CAREFUL!!!
I have ordered many times through their on-​line ordering website. In the past month, my credit card has been used for fraudulent charges and has had to be replaced twice. The second time, I suspected Sultan’s Wok because it was the only charge that I made. When I called Sultan’s Wok to inquire, I was called back by the company that hosts their website. They told me that the website had been «hacked» and all of the credit card data stolen. I asked why they never informed their customers and have not received an answer.

Have been ordering from here for years. Service is now HORRIBLE. The food is cold when it should be hot and hot when it should be cold. And they are late and yell at you when you question them.

Ordered General Tso chicken combo, boneless spare rib and hot and sour soup. Entrees were good, soup was a little salty. Staff was friendly and verified my order before I left. I’m will use them again

Not the place I would recommend. The boss and staffs are very unfriendly. When they took order, they didn’t confirm with me and gave me wrong order! The food is not worthy of the money as well. Will not go back anymore!

Food was horrible. …they forgot half of my order but the food still was horrible. Never again! Eatontown 100% better!

Food was DISGUSTING the last time I ordered. They had a good 2 month stretch with me. I don’t know what happened. But I through my whole combo out and never calling them again

I used to order sultan wok a few years back because they have online ordering and it was just easier to decide. It was «OK» so today I decided to try them again.
Food quality has defintely gone down. I have not tried their sushi, only the chinese cuisine.
beef and chinese vegetable lunch special: pork fried rice average, sauce too thick an chunky… over saturated.
sweet and sour soup: tasted extremely watered down not good at all
fried chicken wings: fried… very eh.
Summary: Generic greasy chinese food… the other local spots are much cleaner and taste better. Won’t go back again.
*whoever that says the food is awesome are probably not Asian and/​or know what good chinese cuisine is

Sushi delivery! Fast delivery! Food is decent. Can be salty. Always comes hot. The Malaysian curries are spicy. (I love that) the Thai fried rice is always a nice touch. I gave it 3 stars because although it’s a Chinese restaurant I think the Thai and Malaysian food are the best!

I LOVE this place. A huge variety of food, my biggest problem is always deciding. The delivery is so fast, usually in 20 minutes or less. I’m not a huge fan of their sushi, but the Thai and Chinese dishes have been fantastic. the Thai curry fried rice is a huge portion — it was dinner and 2 lunches. I highly recommend the curry puffs and the crab rangoons. Unbelievable!

My favorite Sultan Wok of all time. There many different locations in NJ. But the one in Matawan in NJ is the BEST! why do I think its the best? They have pretty much similar menus like all the others, chinese, and thai food available here. Even Malaysian too. But what separates this place from all the others? They have friggin BUBBLE TEA IN HERE! They will deliver it to your place. I always order at least 10 to 12 orders of bubble tea here. Taro and Green Tea flavor. But my newest favorite here is the MOCHA flavor. Its basically heaven flavored coffee with tapioca. Thats all i need to say!

It was a rainy Friday night and me and the bf didn’t feel like dining in anywhere. Instead we decided to order in and watch my Netflix movies. With the help of Unilocal,I decided to try Sultan’s Palace. We ordered a Chicken Pad Thai ($ 9.50) and a «3 Great Cuisine Special C» ($ 16.50) which contained 2 Miso Soup, 1 Seaweed Salad, 1 Spicy Tuna Roll, 1 Golden Dragon Roll, and 1 Tokyo Delight Roll ($ 16.95). According to the menu, this bulk would normally cost $ 31.45 but since it was bundled in a special, we were saving $ 14.50. They have a number of specials where certain dishes are bundled together bringing down the price. We figured this would certainly be more than enough for the 2 of us.
We placed the order online and picked it up ourselves since I was already starving. I was surprised at how small the place was. There were 2 people behind the counter. One was on the phone taking the call-​in orders and there was a young girl taking the internet orders. There were also 2 or 3 delivery men getting the orders ready. It seemed like they were busy yet they were getting out all the orders in a timely fashion. Our order was ready when we arrived. I had already paid with my credit card online so all we had to do was pick it up. They forgot my bf’s Crab Stick order, but we didn’t realize it until we got home. The food was good. The Pad Thai tasted good and the portion was big. The Sushi was just ok and the Miso soup and the Seaweed Salad were up to par. Overall, an okay experience. I’d like to try their Malaysian stuff next time.
