Z Nails and Spa

The first time I went here was with my friend. I got a Shellac. The lady clipped my cuticles too deep and I started to bleed. Other than that, I liked the overall result until about 3 days later. My nails don’t grow fast so I know it wasn’t me who was making the nails look old. My thumb started to have brownish cracking at the tip of it and then my middle finger. I didn’t know what was causing it and hoped it was just my polish and not my real nail. Thank God it wasn’t. ²⁄₅ stars for this visit.
I continued to go to another place for a Shellac manicure. My nails were growing beautiful and strong, the manicures were flawless and last atleast 2 ½ weeks.
Last week, my boyfriend took me out for a birthday morning run, whoop whoop lol! He took me to Z Nails to get a Shellac manicure. Although I vowed not to go here again, it was his treat & I didn’t wanna make him feel like he made a bad choice. We walked in a little after it opened. We said we wanted Shellac & regular manicure clean up for him. The lady at 6 took me and started on my nails. I was hesitant. It was other workers in there and about. 2 customers getting pedis. One of the male workers walked in and my boyfriend asked could he do his manicure since it was no one waiting but him. He rudely said «I dnt do men nails» like wtf? Okaayy. It’s literally cleaning up his cuticles and filing his nails down, but anyways. 3 minutes passed, another worker a lady came in. My bf asked her could she take him, she said no bcus she already had an appointment. Understandably but also rude mannered. Mind you, the only reason he’s asking is bcus we were on a time limit before we left for our next spot. Anyways, the lady is still working on my nails, almost finished when some random customer walked in. She said she wanted to get whatever done to her nails. That is when the lady who so called had an appt. told her she could take her. Wtf? To say the least, we were pissed! So finally the lady is finished with me. My boyfriend gets in the chair. She starts to do his nails and before he gets his cuticles clipped, I see her wiped my clippings off and start in on his. I was disgusted. I told her could she get another one before she looked up, she nipped him and he started to bleed. Like so nasty, they are not practicing good infection control in that place.
At this point, we paid and left feeling not so satisfied. As of a few days after, his nails are starting to chip and are becoming brittle. My Shellac manicure is horrible! Once again I have the same problems, brown cracks, chipping polish, lacking luster commonly associated with this polish. I just dnt like this salon. I’ve had more than enough times to judge them and my opinion remains. Don’t go here!

Decent job on my toes considering she rushed through my pedi in like 25 minutes. I like places that take their time. I would go back, because it’s in a convenient location (near my hair salon), but they would need to work on a few things: (1) Odor, I don’t know if it’s the old leather couch they have in there from God’s no where, but it smelled stale or moldy. (2) Customer service is lacking, no acknowlegement when you walk in if they’re busy, but let it be slow they’re hopping all over you (3) Take time with pedicure

I will only go there to see Tiny. I did my nails about 3 weeks i went for a refil. The lady on table #6 did my nails and she destroyed my cuticles when i left the nail salon the top of my nails was bloody red. When i went back in there to show her she told me it’s just my nails. I would not recommend this place.

I’ve been to a LOT of nail salons, and this one by far has the best everything. They’re salon is modern and clean looking. I like how the pedicure chairs are kind of off to the corner and secluded in case I snooze during my foot rub. I’ve had my brows and lips waxed here before too. Great selection of nail polishes and the nail technicians are super nice and welcoming. Finding street parking can be a little difficult, but I’ll def be returning!

I only get my gel nails done by one person when I come here and that’s Tammy. There’s another woman in there who’s great, but unfortunately I can’t recall her name.
Tons of great colors to choose from. The service here is pretty good, but it also depends on the time and day that you’re coming. There have been times when I came and was immediately seen and then there were times I had to wait for close to an hour, but then again what can a woman expect coming at 1PM on a Saturday?

The prices are reasonable and they also do body waxing. I’d suggest calling in advance to schedule any body waxing so you won’t be rushed.
Side note: They accept Visa, MasterCard, and Discover, but not AMEX.

Im giving this place 1 star based only on the fact that they have nice colors. I came in on a monday and saw the guy who sits in front. He was very friendly but his work was much to be desired. I came for a full set. He did not gove the shape i wanted nor did he make sure the acrylics were laid properly and even. When i would try to speak up or look at my nails he would just say ’ I do later i do later’…he didnot do later… end result the nails were super thick in some places and some spots had no acrylic, theydtarted to even peel within hours. Come wednesday i called to tell them isomeone needed to fix the nails. When i came in there he was and they had me sit with him although i explained i wanted a new tech. Either way i was tired and just let him ‘fix’ his disaster. Its not foxed, he was super rough handling my fingers (think is mad), he didnt want to put color on and then when he did he left it around my fingertips! Im writing this review while sitting waiting for my nails to dry contemplating cursing him out! But ill just fix em down the line. Biggest thing is being a nail tech student im aware of some shortcuts that were taken at the time of service so i should have walked then but needless to say i didnt. I WILLNEVER COME BACK NOR WILL I RECOMMEND ANYONE ELSE TO!

I’ve been to numerous nail places throughout Boston, this one is a keeper for me.
The updated massage chairs put me to sleep and have me drooling. They offer
100+ nail colors. The one time use toe separators for the pedicures is a must. They will give you cute little paper shoes to wear home if you don’t wear your own flip flops.
I’m the walk-​in type, and I’ve never had to wait more than 15 mins to be serviced. They even do a decent job with eyebrows.
The girls even make small talk while they are working on my feet. Try ‘em you might like ‘em.
