Five stars for the food and one of the best tortas I have ever had! Yes, the place may not look like much but it’s the fanciest restaurant in town. I got to try the Carne Asada and Lengua tortas. They also got authentic tacos which are just as delicious. The owners also own the bread shop next door and the tortas are made with fresh bread which makes the taste beyond awesome. There is generous amounts of meat and the spread is amazing. Price for the food is average and affordable. Sometimes there can be a lot of people so the wait can take longer than usually for this small town. Service could be a little better but the tacos and tortas were worth it. If you are ever passing through or in town, you have to give the food a try.

Pretty good food. Not much else around. Certainly wouldn’t stop by the looks of the exterior, but if we’re in the area for lunch, this is where we and my business associates eat.

Excellent food reasonably priced. I love La Popular. I have eaten tortas(basically a Mexican sandwich) all over Eastern WA and La Popular has my favorite by far. They also make excellent tacos and quesadillas. If you find yourself near Mattawa it’s worth stopping for some truly authentic Mexican food.
