Matteson Carson’s is definitely loosing customers, went in to look at lamps and the salesman in that department basically told me to go to Homegoods are you serious? What kind of employee does that? And there’s no one at the service desk to take my payment, what is wrong with this picture people, where is our customer service, don’t you want to keep your jobs?

Still a nice store. I was in Thursday night. Everything was neatly organized and well stocked. No need to drive all the way to Orland

Lincoln Mall is a bit sad now. I remember when it opened and it threw the Park Forest Mall into a death spiral. This was an INSIDE mall in the SOUTHERN Suburbs. Woot woot! We all flocked over here to the brand new Carson Pirie Scott which abandoned its Chicago Heights location to be near a major Hwy with free parking. Then, the Orland Park Mall opened which continued the cycle only this time, the Lincoln Mall is the one circling the drain. Karma? Or just the fickle nature of the buying public? I am one of the few who still shops at this mall and part of the charm is that it is so uncrowded which is its major problem as well. I can zip over here, find close parking and pop in to see what there is in Carson Pirie Scott and Company! I even know some of the clerks. I worry because I see the merchandise stuffed into the racks at Orland and here, not so stuffed. If I am on the hunt for something to wear, I come here first and then sometimes I have to move on but if I can find it here, what a great day. The selection here is different from the other branches of this store and I find better bargains on their sale racks. Sadly, they keep eliminating customer service areas where you can actually pay for items but I guess that is the price I pay for shopping at the less crowded store. Yes, the coupons can be annoying but exhilarating as well. I can’t help it, I just like this store and fervently hope they don’t close it. Ever heard Chris Rock’s comedy routine about malls? It is being played out in real life here which isn’t quite a funny. Carsons, you’ve been my retail buddy for decades and I hope you and I stay close!

This Carsons is ok, the best thing about it, is it’s close to my hose when I want to return something which is all it’s really good for. The shoe selection is not that great and they are always out of sizes, and the wait time for getting shoes to try on can be from either 15 – 25 minutes. Sometimes when it is empty in the shoe section no one is even at the counter, and it’s always under staffed, there is rarely anyone at the jewlery counter except for at the more expensive stuff. They do not carry as many brands as the Carsons in Orland Park, which is far better. I went to the children’s section yesterday to look at the kids clothes, I liked that they carry Sean John, Roca Wear, and Akademics, as well as Baby Phat, but to my disbelief all of those brands are completly gone from the store which was another great reason to go to this Carson’s. So now there is litterally no reason to really go to this one unless for something specefic. tis tis Carsons.
