This is the cleanest, coolest dollar store I have ever been in… and I’m cheap, so I’ve been in a lot! I walked in expecting nothing, and walked out with 4 beautiful earthenware plates and bowls, 4 boxes of gourmet crackers and multiple jars of manzanilla olives, roasted red peppers, and pepperoncini for a party I was having that weekend… and yes, every item I bought was $ 1. There may be some items that are slightly more expensive, but I didn’t come across them. I was particularly blown away by the gourmet food selection. I’m definitely going back to stock up on antipasti-type items like marinated mushrooms, artichokes, etc… There was also an extensive frozen foods section. I guess this is a chain; someone reviewed a store in Hobart, IN, and I believe there is a store in Chicago on Western Avenue, as well. There were brand name drugstore items like Band-Aids, Tylenol, Aleve, etc… as well as decent drugstore shampoos, soaps, household cleaners, etc… There is an extensive toy selection, too. The store is clean, well-lit, and incredibly organized. The staff is also really nice… not typical in my previous dollar store experiences. I haven’t been able to find a website for this company, but if you google them you can find directories of stores around the country. This is a great place to shop; come with an open mind and an empty trunk!
