One star is too many for this THIEF! Mert is the owners name, and Mert is a lowlife, worthless, THIEF. We bought a refrigerator for our garage and drove from Steele Creek all the way to Independence (Matthews area) to check it out and buy. We bought a crappy $ 99 refrigerator since we just needed the extra space in the garage. We paid an additional $ 50 for delivery. The following day we get our refrigerator; we plug it in and starts running. The delivery guy leaves.
Unfortunately the refrigerator never cools. We wait a whole day and by the following it was still not cooling at all. We call the store and the hick who answered the phone, same 15-​year-​old hick who sold us the refrigerator said we had to call Mert, the owner.
Mert, con artist he is, makes us believe he will replace the refrigerator and bring us another. A month and a half 50 calls later we still have a dead refrigerator in our garage. At first he would answer our calls and promise us he would deliver it, or he was on his way, blah, blah, blah… then he just stopped answering and returning calls, then his voicemail was full and we couldn’t even leave messages. Eventually we gave up.
I thought about, even bought the spraypaint, loading it in a truck over a weekend or a nice long spell when they’re not open and dumping it in front of the store and spray painting «Mert you fucking thief» on the side for everyone on 77 to see. But I never got around to it and I don’t have a truck. But, if anyone has a truck and is willing to give me and the refrigerator a ride I’m still up for it.
I am not sure if they are still even there. The place had nothing but old appliances and a desk and some redneck kid as a salesman who not only was smoking inside the store but when I went to get the extra $ 50 from the ATM he asked me to bring him back a pack of cigarettes.
FUCK this place, FUCK Mert and if I ever bump into him he’s not gonna way away with at least a round house kick to the face.
