Costco

We love Costco and have always had wonderful but yesterday was awful the way the cashier treated us. His name was Destuis and he never once acknowledge us. We both are in costumer service and have been for over 20 years so I can tell you now this kid was awful in the way he treated us. Was talking to a co-​worker about how awful Costco is to work for like this is something your members need to hear. I hope someone talks to this young man.

This store has a serious problem with handling new memberships. We stood in line for 30 min and they ended up helping two people that came in after us. They lost two memberships today.

This is my Costco of choice as I adore the people there as they make my day when checking out. I should be more specific and say I LOVE the cashiers because some of those folks giving out the samples act as if they are taking the food out of their children mouth if you try to get more than one sample. LIKE DUDE & DUDE-​ETTE I do have a toddler and a husband that will be tasting with me before I purchase something off my individual tastebuds.
The gas here is reasonably priced and I enjoy knowing the sections in which I can find any everything or at least I know the vicinity and could point someone in the direction of items they may be looking for. As a Business Black card holder it does get aggravating when I get that shocking reminder while at checkout that it’s time to pay my renewal annual fee of $ 110 but HEY it’s worth the money as there are several items I can only get at Costco so I need my membership to do so and my family enjoy our monthly shopping extravaganza and chance to discover something new

Had a really disappointing experience purchasing tires at Costco Matthews. After the initial purchase, it was obvious one or more were improperly balanced. I took my car back and waited a few hours while the tires were rebalanced. After this, they were better but still not right. I again returned to Costco and waited while my tires were re-​balanced a third time. Still, one of the tires gave the impression of an «unbalanced washing machine on spin cycle». At this point I realized that there was a bad tire on the car and asked Costco to replace it. Instead they asked me to take the car to another tire shop and have the tires rebalanced, for which they would reimburse me. I did this and reported back to them that even after a road force balance, I still felt there was a bad tire on the car. Further, I had taken my car to the dealership for some warranty work and asked them to evaluate the suspension, wheel bearings, etc. The dealership even noted on my invoice that the car definitely had a bad tire, nothing wrong with the car itself. Costco tire manager refused to do anything further.
I spoke again with the manager at the other tire store where I had my tires road force balanced. Explained the situation and he offered to reach out to Michelin on my behalf. This was around 5:30 in the evening. At 8am the next morning, I had four brand new Michelin Pilot Sport tires installed on my car fully-​comped under Michelin’s 30 day satisfaction guarantee. The car now has a quiet ride, is smooth, and has excellent grip. Everything I wanted from these tires. While I would not recommend purchasing tires from Costco, I do have to thank them for giving me the opportunity to visit Discount Tire. Great experience there and the tire manager at DT went above and beyond to help me out. Not only will I take my other vehicles there for tires, I recommend that particular location to my friends as well.

I love Costco. I’ve only shopped at this location once, but the front end seemed to get the customers out pretty quickly, even though there are fewer lanes than most locations.

It’s a warehouse club. What’s to say. Hotdogs and pizza. Cheap. Not much more to say.

This is for *EYE* doctor. I went for a eye exam and contact lens fitting. Got a pair for 2 week lenses, sample size solution and contact case too. It cost me $ 139 cash/​no insurance. Pretty good deal!
Dr is very nice. Was pretty thorough and taking his time to carefully examine my eyes. The receptionist was also really great!

I visit this costco about once a week, somehow I always end up shopping on the weekend even though the traffic is down right dangerous. Seriously it’s the most unpleasant part to me, bad parking lot planning created a offal traffic pattern. Save a lot of money shopping here though; beautiful produce, fresh meats, and plenty of healthy options make it easy. Premium quality gasoline at usually 5¢ lower than local rates. Iv had NO ISSUES with sales people, in fact the juice station guy actually gave me his spare cart tonight because he saw me struggling with cat litter. The direct tv salesperson just asked me if I’d had a nice day, no pressure at all.

I am at the Costco gas pump so often, I deserve a reserved spot! I have been filling up every 4 – 5 days. The gas has been $.20 — $.30 below other stations in the area for the last two months.
Inside, I can always find what I want, even if there are only a few products left at the end of the day. The mixed yogurt (vanilla and chocolate) is my favorite treat from he Café! I think it’s $ 2.

So far, I’ve been here twice. Vegetables and fruits are way overpriced. Meats are so-​so. Tons of huge samples to try. If you’re not close to this location, just shop local.

This is my home Costco and my favorite of the two in the Charlotte area. The customer service here is almost always top notch. I shop often with my kids (7yo and 2 yo) at this one and love how the staff takes extra time with them. We were buying an Elsa nightgown once and the cashier let my daughter ring up her dress herself. Love how the person who checks the receipts when we leave try to draw my kids on the back on the receipts. When pumping gas, the gas station attendant is always polite and tries to help if needed. Now, please also do realize that most of my experiences are from shopping on week nights. I often avoid shopping at Costco on the weekends because of the crowds. However, as busy as they are, they still get the job done pretty well. They open up more lanes and get more people to check receipts. It really is an easier, faster, and much calmer shopping experience on a weeknight.

Costco is great. They have everything. We love getting food here and snack stuff. The steaks are great as well.

Nice Costo and well laid out. Plenty of samples on a Saturday if you want to try anything before you buy it.

This is an update of my previous review. A lot of the good things are still there, but after 17 visits and counting, a lot of ugliness has reared its head. While this location doesn’t necessary harass customers with some of the merchandise (cell phones, product demonstrations, etc.), they have started aggressively harassing customers about their crappy membership upgrade/​reward plan. Having been approached before, I looked into the program and realized that the cost/​benefit was simply not there for me. I don’t really spend a lot of money at Costco. When I was approached by an employee today, I politely declined the service. This employee continued to badger me and follow me as I waited in line and left the store. It was all I could do not to make a scene in response.
Find some better employees, Costco (Marisol is first on the chopping block.), and you might get a star back.

So this Costco is really like all of the others. I’ve never had any trouble there, buy in bulk, etc. However, I went the other day and felt like I was being assaulted by people trying to sell things! This is not your regular, «eat these delicious samples» selling either, this was «I’m going to shout across the store to tell you about a Direct TV.» Awkward, and annoying, and it happened the second that we walked into the store!
I brushed it off and figured maybe it was just an excitable Direct TV employee. But then as I was browsing the book/​movie aisle this woman walked up to me like she knew me (stranger danger, invading my space) and pushed some beads in my face, trying to sell them. I love free trade. I love the idea of beads giving women a trade that will support their family. I do not like strangers in my personal space.
I left Costco, purchased nothing, and felt really disgruntled about the awkward encounters with some of the people trying to sell things. Hopefully it’s just a holiday thing, then I can resume my Costco bulk shopping in peace.

Hopefully everyone knows what Costco is so I shouldn’t have to go into detail about that.
My mothers a member so she added me as the other member on the membership. So I went to go pickup my card and boy was that a hassle. They started to tell me that I couldn’t be added on it even though it was in their computer saying I could be. They had all the info I needed all I needed to bring was paperwork with the address on the account. Now I live in another state from her but I have stuff mailed to her house so I have all the documentation. Finally after some back and forth I got them to give me a card.
Then I went through did my shopping as planned. One thing I didn’t care for is there wasn’t a great variety of meats/​lunch meats. I usually go to Sams Club so they have a huge variety. There produce was ok I’ve heard it was suppose to be awesome so I loaded up on some of that.
I finally get up to the register and get everything ran through. (The lines at the registers are insanely long!) get my total and get ready to swipe my card and the guy tells me they don’t take credit cards only American Express. I’m thinking why the hell wouldn’t you tell someone this. When I got my card I was told they accept credit, debit, cash and check but NO apparently that wasn’t true. So I don’t carry cash and I don’t carry my debit card as I never use them. So I went back and forth with him for a while but luckily I found my old debit card and got it to work.
I got home and tried some of the grapes I got and even though on the outside they looked good when I bit into it, they dissolved in my mouth and were completely molded. I had to grab the whole container and throw it out, as I started finding out 80% of them were like that.
Moral to this is I shall Stick to Sams Club as the variety is whatever, and the explanation of the policies and the way the store is ran sucks!

It’s a tough call between 4 and 5 stars for this Costco.
Plus:
— I always am able to find good parking for some reason. That usually doesn’t happen at Costcos! (Costcoes? Potato/​tomato?)
— They’re always well-​stocked. If you can’t find something at the Tryon Costco, try this one. This has happened twice now in 3 months. Why I bother with the other one anymore, I’m not sure.
— Optical dept is super friendly. They fixed my not-​from-​Costco-​glasses when the lens kept trying to commit suicide.
Cons:
— The food thing (what do you call it?) is inside and lining up is difficult when you’re by yourself. There’s no space for your cart, so you have to leave it somewhere and hope nobody is feeling like a thief that day.
— Also @ The Food Thing, the condiments are almost always empty. While I stood by once waiting for a pizza, three people came up and reported the ketchup was empty. Later, when I was grabbing some napkins and things, I noticed that the worker finally put ketchup out, but only filled it halfway, and only filled one of the two dispensers. It was like mid-​afternoon, so I don’t know why they’re making life harder on themselves.
Whatever, it’s Costco. I will love it forever.

This is not your typical Costco. Wait a minute… yes it is.
Carry on…

Costco is good for food if you want or need to stock up, as you have to buy in bulk. They have clothes, household goods, electronics at competitive prices. However, you may get a better real elsewhere on sale.
Have pharmacy, optical, tire service. You can also book vacations through Costco online and even buy a new car, boat, Rv, or motorcycle through Costco at a savings. Home improvement projects can be done through Costco contracted services at a savings. Costco can save you money of you know how to get the most out of your membership.

I’m not a member myself, but my mom is. They offer a good variety of items from electronics to clothing and bulk food items. I’ve purchased my netbook from here and it’s still going strong (knock on wood).
There have been a lot of times that we’ve had dinner here — not using the samples, but either grabbing a slice of pizza, hot dog and soda (for $ 1.50!!!), they also have a chicken bake — a big version of a hot pocket with the pastry and chicken all rolled up. For a family of four to be able to eat «out» with 10 – 12 dollars is pretty amazing (drinks included). For a while now, we’ve been getting the pre-​made salads that you can get in the food section in the back to be a little healthier.
Gas here is super cheap as well. We always fill up here if we are in the area. Not as good as SC gas prices, but better than regular NC gas prices.
Buying bulk is always a little intimidating, but you do save in the long run. It just takes some planning ahead, but I would definitely shop Costco rather than multiple trips to the store during a long period of time.
