Marshalls

I’ve seen better and I’ve seen worst. This marshalls is ok. Mostly organized but it Is a bit dirty. I think they should take some time and clean a bit. Maybe that’s just my opinion. Ok selection of clothing. I mostly go in and look at all the kitchen and home décor.

My review is a result of a disturbing transaction that occurred in the Matthews store yesterday. I pulled 2 identical pillows from the markdown aisle and went to the register to pay for them. One was priced $ 25.00 and the other was marked at $ 15.00. I told the clerk that I would like to buy them both, as long as they were both the $ 15.00 price. She turned to an associate to ask for advice. The $ 15.00 price tag was scanned, and I was told that the item had been priced incorrectly; that it should be $ 25.00. I then said I would like to buy the $ 15.00 pillow, but I was told I could only purchase it for $ 25.00. What??? I’ve never been to a store where the price tag is removed and replaced with a higher price right in front of me!
A fellow shopper witnessed the exchange and told me she thought what the store had done was wrong. I was appreciative of her comments.
I spoke to the manager who proceeded to tell me she did not know who had marked the item incorrectly, but that when merchandise goes to the checkout it’s the final «review». She was talking about all manner of things instead of listening to my complaint. She had a ready defense. It was as if we were talking about two different topics.
I moved to Matthews almost 2 years ago, and I’ve spent thousands (truly) in this store supplying my home with numerous items from furniture to kitchen wares.
I’m going to avoid this store for obvious reasons. This was not right.

I love Marshalls! Better bargains than TJ Maxx and way better selection than Ross!
This Marshalls is better than the other one in Matthews at least for me, I was able to find way more deals and there is SPACE to move around. The other location is cramped and seemed way busier. I’d much rather have some space to breathe while shopping that have to say excuse me fifty times while squeezing my cart through aisles.
This a solid Marshalls and yes the check out line is weird but if you research this it is actually the fastest way to check out customers.

You can find some pretty good finds in this store, but you really have to FIND them. There are a lot of times I’ve been in here and stuff seems to be just thrown on the shelves and not organized in anyway. It could be a matter of customers messing up things, but I have never seen an employee trying to straight up anything — it could just be bad timing on my part.
The good thing is that the store layout doesn’t really change so that you can run in, go to the sections you need to go to, and get out in a couple of minutes if you don’t find what you are looking for.
I don’t really appreciate the way they ‘herd’ the register line into one big line with all this stuff (impulse buys) on baskets and shelves that create the barrier… but you only have to deal with it once in a while… REALLY REALLY bad for the mom’s with kids since a lot of the impulse buys are toys and gadgets.

This branch is just okay. It’s slightly larger than other Marshalls but everything is just more spread out. I usually look for purses my sisters will enjoy and they carry a lot of dooneys casually scattered. I barely see them on clearance here though.
