I like the store well enough and the selection is pretty good. Prices are comparable to Office Depot across the street. The thing that gives this store 2 stars is the customer service. They are like car salesman. You can’t get out of there without being asked 5 questions, or more. They are always trying to sell you something more and if you refuse? They seem to take it personally because the smile instantly leaves their face. I had bought a printer and the cashier asked 3 times if I wanted ink. 3TIMES! She said, «Are you sure you don’t need any ink?» They must work on commission because when I told her no again. her face fell along with all of her politeness. If they have something on sale that I want, I will go in(like the printer) otherwise, I go across the street to Office Depot and save myself the headache.

Many years ago — before they were particularly common — I purchased a digital camera at OfficeMax. A few days later, well within the standard return period, it had a problem of some sort and I tried to take it back, but because it was considered a «computer», it took all sorts of debating with the manager to get them to even exchange the camera for another of the very same model. When that one went bad in similar fashion, I was livid, and generally speaking, make all of my office trips at the competition(who has a much better return policy, and is friendlier even if you miss that all-important window). But from time to time, OfficeMax does have some incredible sales, especially on back-to-school sales, so we will stop by to scoop up nickel bargains and stock up the bins, so to speak. Naturally, it probably is not much of a bargain when you drive out of your way to get three packs of pens for a nickel, but it really is the principle, right? At least this store is fairly nice, offering a gigantic furniture section in addition to a fairly large supply of office goods and even a printing area in the back. If only they were better on the service side of things.
