Just finished a great meal at Tatos. Let the owner recommend something. He recommended the crushed plantains for me and the pork kabob for my wife. Both were great. He had 3 wonderful sauces to go on the food. One was a homemade hot sauce that kicked it up a lot. We had empanadas for appetizers and they were fresh made. 4 people cokes and appetizers for less than 40 $ ! Go out of your way if your in the area. It’s worth it.

Just moved to Mauldin and I love this little place. They are friendly, hard working, and very accommodating. Father and son are both very good people. Food is very reasonably priced… and good.

I am always on the lookout for empanadas and I found a «hole in the wall» place today. This place is a real gem — I need to go back and try the rest of the the menu. Great service from the owner. Oh the empanadas did not disappoint.

We were passing through Mauldin and decided to take a chance on this place because of the reviews we found here on Unilocal. At first glance, I thought I’m not so sure, but decided to go in and look at the menu. My husband ordered the grilled chicken sandwich and I got the crushed plantain plate, both were very good! The sauces that accompanied the plate were great too. The owner and his family were all so wonderfully nice. The restaurant was small, but clean, and both dishes that we ordered were very good. The menu had a wide rands of options, and next time we’re back I hope to try one of their real wood fired pizzas :)

Amazing food, great service and attentive service. Order something you wouldn’t see at any other restaurant. The plantain plate is amazing. I had the daily special and enjoyed every bite. Definitely one of my favorite restaurants in Mauldin now.

My fiancé and I found this place because of Unilocal. We have food wanderlust, and Tato’s met all the expectations! Jorge was friendly, funny, and enthusiastic! I got the crushed plantains, and it was AMAZING! We made sure to get some empanadas to take home with us to try. It’s definitely worth going a little out of the way of Woodruff Road to get something different, inexpensive, and delicious!

I’m so glad we decided to try this little place out! The inside is small, but with an extra chair, we crowded 4 adults and 2 kids into a booth. Jorge was the most hospitable server we’ve seen in a long time. He started by making a suggestion for the kids, a special from Columbia. They liked it! We also took him up on his recommendations for the adults. Service was impeccable and Jorge surprised us with a plate of cinnamon sugared fried dough — delicious. We will definitely be back to try the brick oven pizza.

Friendly staff wonderful food. Small restaurant but very clean. Very warm to our toddler. The have Greek Columbian Italian some Mexican food wings and pizza. So they haven’t covered any Asian food yet but based on what we have had so far I bet I would be delicious. You can tell they care.

The staff is very friendly, and they have made this a nice place to eat in Mauldin. I almost feel like I am in Latin America when I go to eat and practice my Spanish! Don’t be afraid, this place is very welcoming and the food is affordable yet delicious!

She said: I’ve passed by this place for months now without stopping in. My mistake! It’s a small, informal place. Family-owned. Nothing fancy about it. But the food proved to be very good! The staff was super-friendly and very helpful. They have an unusual variety of foods on the menu. They offer standard American fare, like burgers, subs, salads, and wings. They also have great brick oven pizzas. Then they have Latin American foods, like Patacon Pisao(crushed plantains) and empanadas. They also offer gyros and souvlaki. They have fountain drinks, as well as bottled. On today’s visit, I got a takeout order with spicy chicken empanadas and a portabella mushroom pizza. Both were very good! I will be ordering them again. Normally, I would give this place 4 stars(5 for food, 3 for atmosphere); however, I’m giving them 5 stars because regardless of any lack of atmosphere, the staff and the food I ordered today were both very good. I’ll definitely go back!
