I received quality dental care but I got taken advantage of financially. After my initial visit they laid out the work that they would recommend having done; one of the ladies up front kindly offered to save me the hassle of coming back for a consultation by laying out the costs for me of what I would expect to pay. I came back and got the work done, only to find out that the work I had done was slightly different than what they had anticpated; therefore, insurance would only cover a small fraction of it. And because I ‘declined’ a consultation it’s not their fault. I had to pay 3x what I had anticipated. I was manipulated and made to feel like a fool; I would avoid this place like the plague.

First, I think the other review is not the real story. I’ve had many visits to Frankel’s office and the staff there have always been great about handling my insurance. Whenever I had an expensive procedure they got a quote from my insurance company with how much they would pay and how much I would have to pay. They did all the legwork and let me know what it was going to cost in advance. I loved that. There is a reason why they are always ranked the top Dentist in Toledo. They are always on time and painless. They are very high tech and explain complicated conditions well and most importantly they do great work. I could go on but you should see for yourself why I’m a fan. If you want the best smile and dental care in Toledo go there.

After having two fillings done, they refused to submit the bill to my insurance first before billing me. They«estimated» that my portion would be over $ 200 and asked for the money up front. When I told them that wasn’t possible, because I knew my insurance would pay a lot more than that, they treated me like poor white trash. It took a lot of arguing to get them to agree to let me pay a small amount, have them bill my insurance, then bill me. I have no problem paying $ 250 if that was the amount I was responsible for. I got my Explanation of Benefits from my insurance company. Lo and behold, I only owed $ 90. In doing my research after the fact, I found out that this is a common practice of theirs. Not only that, but if you pay up front and then they owe you a refund after you insurance goes through — they only issue a credit to your account. They don’t refund your credit card or mail you a check. A good dentist doesn’t need to advertise. With the amount of advertising this practice does, it makes you wonder. I guess I know why they try to rip their patients off. Billboards and radio spots with ridiculous jingles cost a lot of money.
