Local seasonal soft serve ice cream. It seems that every neighborhood in Toledo has one, and this is mine. The offer good sized ice creams at reasonable prices. My kids love it. I love it. We’ll all be sad come Labor Day when they close for the season.

Yummy, yummy, in my tummy! The turtle sundae was amazing ! The amount of carmel, hot fudge, and nuts almost took up the size of my small sundae. They only have soft serve but that is my favorite when it comes to sundaes. My boyfriend ordered a giant peanut butter shake and he love it. He noted how they added in more peanut butter than most places he has been too. We will for sure be stopping by here again for another cool treat this summer!

They have great prices and big servings! Everything I have tried there is good and I like the outdoor seating! Its fun in the summer time! Very family friendly and on a nice scenic road

Not impressed with this place. Got an Oreo tornado with chocolate ice cream an it was served in a small styrofoam cup. For my self, my husband and my two small boys the cost was over $ 10.00. After we received our ice cream we sat on the metal picnic tables that were covered in sticky old ice cream and teenagers were spitting on the ground, it was not a very appetizing visit. From now on its worth the drive from Maumee to Mr Freeze in P.burg.

Penguin Palace, home of the Smurf ice cream! I love Smurf ice cream in a cup with sprinkles. They also make the best turtle sundae with salted pecans on top. Super yummy!

The ice cream selection in California seriously sucks. So whenever I go to Ohio to visit family, we always have to go here. Their are several «hole in the wall» type ice cream places in the area, but this is definitely the best one. It’s so yummy and the peanut butter sauce is amazing!

Smurf ice cream in a cone with a face = my childhood. Ever since I can remember, Penguin Palace has been a staple in my life always providing the icy, delicious and vibrant blue ice cream that never fails to disappoint. Apparently I’ve been eating the stuff since I was in the womb, as one of my mom’s pregnancy cravings consisted of smurf ice cream with crunch coating. I have a VHS home video of my «gradution» of preschool where I ended the day going to celebrate with my favorite treat. And even today, a trip to Penguin Palace sends me down memory lane and I leave with a smile on my face. When I ordered my smurf in a cone with a face this summer after many years without a visit due to being out of state, the teenaged girl snootily replied «you mean blue raspberry?» A bit sad but once I saw the swirl of blue ice cream and the face made out of sprinkles, I was a kid again.
This place is classic, lots of options and good prices. As you can probably tell, I love the smurf soft serve but their tornadoes are great too, lots of toppings.
