The smoothies here are delicious! I love the Island Green. It’s yummy and very filling! I’ve tried their wraps and sandwiches too and they’re pretty good. But the main reason I go there is for the Island Green smoothie!

NOCLUE this place has«beyond meat» as a substitute to make any of their sammies veg friendly. That’s a big deal, high five!

I’ve been here a few times now. I’ve never had the food, but the smoothies are very good. I recently had the peanut butter cup smoothie and it was as thick as a milkshake! Really good. The place is always clean and the staff is very friendly.

Liquid deliciousness. Love this place. Lots of choices, and I can design my own smoothie.

Bizarre experience here. I signed up for the Club Tropical on the website and got a printed coupon for $ 1 smoothie with a purchase. I presented the coupon as I placed my order and the girl looked at me like I had handed her a lump of Kryptonite. Another girl on her break explained this was a printed coupon from the website. The first employee then went to her manager. She asked me where I got the coupon and I said Tropical Smoothie Website — Club Tropical. She then went in the back and called the«store owner». I waited at the counter and she came back a few minutes later after speaking with him on the phone. She said they don’t accept coupons and promotions like this from«Corporate». She said that the owner agreed to honor the coupon this one time but not in the future.(I felt like I was on an episode of Undercover Boss where the franchisee is not following the program laid out by the business headquarters.) Really strange. Seriously. Someone spends all this money and makes a huge investment in Smoothie store(s) and then balks at a coupon from the company website that is designed to draw in traffic and new customers? There was a bbq place right next to it that was packed(Deets). I think I might stop there next time and try it out. I also find it odd that a shift manager does not have the authority to accept a coupon and has to call her boss in the evening to get approval. All three of the employees in TS café were very polite. I definitely understand if that is their marching orders since they don’t want to get in trouble or have their pay docked for taking a smoothie coupon.

Great place for people who want fresh food with lots of flavor. Nice twist having fresh fruit instead of chips or fries. Kids loved the smoothies with their meal. Very clean all the way around.

As someone who had a smoothie for lunch literally every day for a whole summer and has since made them a regular part of her life, I’d say I know a great smoothie when I have one… and this place makes INCREDIBLE smoothies!!! :D All natural, super fresh, with great flavors and not too many calories at what I think are competitive prices for healthful food. Jamba Juice and Robek’s ain’t got nothin’ on this tropical oasis of smoothie heaven. I’m partial to the Kiwi Quencher, but all the flavors are AMAZING. Haven’t tried the food here, but have seen plenty of others eating flatbreads and such which all look AWESOME. And the place is hopping during lunch, which suggests it’s THE place to go in the area, right? Oh – and as amazing as the smoothies are, the employees are even better! Ridiculously nice, super knowledgable about the menu, efficient, friendly — all the things good employees should be. :] (At this point I was going to say something about how unfair it is that I don’t live near this place… but it looks like they do have one out here in Chicago! Watch out wallet — we’re about to go broke.) ;]

Love the smoothies. Especially the Very Berry Green Tea(only 160 calories!) and today I got a chance to try a sandwich — the turkey guacamole on nine grain was spectacular. Thick soft bread and spicy guacamole. MMM Plus the staff is friendly and the to-go service it quick. Excellent!

There is a flatbread sandwich here that is banana, peanut butter, honey and granola and it is my new favorite thing in the entire world. As my mom said«this is stupidly good». Add a sunrise-sunset smoothie and I’m in heaven. It’s clean and everyone is friendly. Plus last time I was here, the TV was on Food Network and«Resturant: Impossible.» Way to make it perfect.

I blame Tropical Smoothie Café for my new-found smoothie obsession. An obsession that goes as far as my driving between the two farthest endpoints of Toledo — starting with my workout(Sylvania) and ending with my post-workout blended deliciousness(Maumee.) Flavor-wise, TSC covers the spectrum quite nicely, from favorites such as strawberries to the more exotic acai. Personal favorites include the Pineapple Delight and the Island Intensity. Also, despite the seemingly limited selection of smoothies made with Splenda, any of the smoothies can be turned into a «Splendid» smoothies. Those who know me will tell you how I have happily taken advantage of this option my last few runs out to TSC. The smoothie size runs fairly large making the prices reasonable. Then again, being the sole smoothie café in the entire city is a justifiable enough reason for any inkling of priciness. I have yet to try the extensive menu of sandwiches, salads, and wraps, but if they’re just as tasty(and healthy) as the smoothies, the café better starts calling me its number one customer :) The staff here is always friendly and cheery. In fact, the entire café just exudes an upbeat and sunny vibe that makes me feel as though I am indeed in a tropical place, albeit for a few minutes, and not in Toledo, Ohio.

Tropical Smoothie Café(TSC) provides a decent(but expensive) lunch. I have neglected it for quite some time because I didn’t realize they had real food as well as smoothies. Today I wandered in and found a sizable menu of wraps, sandwiches, salads, and even a couple of soups and breakfast offerings. I ordered a Mambo Italiano, which is basically a classic Italian-type sandwich with ham, provolone, banana peppers, and the like. It was pretty good, no real complaints there: decent ciabatta bread with reasonably fresh-tasting vegetables. The wraps and sandwiches come with your choice of chips or a banana. I hate bananas, so I opted for Miss Vicker’s Sea Salt and Vinegar chips, which happens to be one of my favorite brands. I also got a Strawberry Beach smoothie, which was quite large and tasted good. At $ 4.29 it had better taste good. I really wanted a raspberry smoothie, but even though there are tons of different smoothie choices, both of the raspberry ones included banana! you can’t get away from bananas at this place. Did I mention I hate banana? Funny story: I haven’t liked bananas since I puked after eating bananas when I was like 8 years old or something.(Okay, it wasn’t so much«ha ha» funny as it was«queer» funny. And that’s «queer» as in «odd».) So the food isn’t bad at all at TSC. My main problem is that it is expensive. I had the Paradise Combo(sandwich, chips, and smoothie) and it was $ 9.99 plus tax. That is a little hefty for a smallish, non-sub sandwich. Without the smoothie, I would have been at $ 6.79 plus $ 1.69 for a drink, which would be a buck-fifty cheaper and more tolerable(although less filling). I’ll definitely go back soon because there are plenty more items I’d like to try. Topping the list are the buffalo chicken wrap and the chicken Caesar salad. On a side note, the staff were all super-friendly and nice.
