This is a great beach. You can access it via the small resort/villa located just above the hill. There are multiple points of access that you can’t miss. I believe that you can also park in some of the parking spots in the villa. The sand is not the softest in Hawaii but the scene is almost perfect at sunset. To the left you have high sea cliffs and some rocks interspersed. Like most of the beaches on Molokai, you may be the only people there. The waves are large. Once night falls you won’t believe the amount of stars that you will see. Overall, a wide flat beach with great views of the cliffs and the stars.

Another great, abandoned beach on Molokai. Just to the west of the Kaluakoi Villas/Kepuhi Beach Condos closed beach resort lies Kepuhi Beach. There were two segments to the beach separated by some rocks. To the north was where most of the locals and surfers were hanging out, and to the left was a wide open, empty beach that stretched a few hundred meters. My wife and I frequented both of these beaches during our time at Kaluakoi Villas and although they were slightly different, they were both glorious. To the right, the waves were much bigger, and the reef did not start as close to the beach as on the left, but the small crowd there turned me off a little. I love watching the surfers and talking to people, but when I am at the beach, I prefer to be all alone and take in the scenery in solitude. Speaking of the scenery, it was absolutely spectacular! This beach had it all. There were big rocks, cliffs, lots of sand, blue water, bright blue sky, and even views of East Oahu. This is what beaches should be like. Overall, this was another great Molokai beach because of the isolated feeling. I love being able to see where I live across a channel, but feel like I am a million miles away because of the environment.

You can sit here all day. and not see another soul. A Chinaman bought the Moloka’i ranch and tried to blackmail locals into paving most sacred heiau/temple sites at La’au Point. locals said no. so they closed the cattle ranch, 2 hotels, the movie theatre, the gas station, a nice oceanside golf course and fired everyone and left a note saying«Alohahahaha Moloka’i». Now Land banking 100,000 acres… until they can make into wind farm. or sell for 10x what they bought those greedy people who care not for native culture, people or the land. Leisure company from SingSing waiting until more locals die off or leave the island. then they can bring waves of Chinese and rebuild what would be one of the best beach locations resorts in the world. Same views as Wailea. this beach is pristine. great for snorkel, spearfishing. surf on the right day. almost a private beach for locals and few tourists. 100 ocean front/view condos in 3 complexes remain that can rent out cheap starting at $ 100 a night on VRBO. This is west side Moloka’i. dry, hot, windy. 35 miles across channel to Honolulu. There is nothing to do. no where to go just beach and sun and ocean. no bars, no restaurants, no shopping. no tourists. 10 unspoiled beaches … buy food in town and BBQ… if that is what you want. this is best.

On the west coast of Molokai, this is a picturesque public beach attached to the Kaluakoi Villas and Condominiums. Not safe for swimming outside of summer, and only then by strong swimmers. But it’s nice to look at. The swimming pool has been refurbished, and is right next to the beach. This used to be the grand Kaluakoi Resort, but was discontinued when the cruise ship port proposal was defeated by the locals. The resort grounds are still maintained, though the resort restaurant and golf course are out of action. Feel free to park in the huge parking lot, but ask permission to use the pool or BBQ facilities as the security guards or maintenance staff will know you are there. We stayed at the villas and the security guard came by to see who we were when we wandered the grounds. Nothing too special here, but if you are in the area … The Kaluakoi Villas phone number is(808) 552‑2721. To the south you have a great view of Lanai. To the west in the distance you have a view of the east coast of Oahu. At night you can see Makapu’u Lighthouse and the lights of Kailua. From Molokai Airport follow Hwy. 460 west to Kaluakoi Rd. where you turn right and follow signs leading to Kaluakoi Villas. After you park you can reach the beach by walking through the resort grounds. Bring everything you will need as there are no stores on this side of the island. Mahalos yeah fo’ checkin’ out dis place.
