room had a very moldy smell but we thought it was because it had been closed up for awhile but when my husband entered in the bathroom to take a shower water was coming out from under the toilet, needs a new toilet ring for sure. we couldn’t stay there just paid for a night at a motel and left. Owner offered another room but husband couldn’t handle the unclean atmosphere. Hotel clerk was very friendly and did recommended a great place to eat.

Decent place to stay in Mayfield. Staff was very polite and attentive. The room was non-smoking but still smelled a bit like smoke. Furniture was old and scared. Curtain was too small to cover the window.

Best Super 8 I’ve stayed at! Nice rooms nice bathrooms, good shower, ac blows cold, very clean. I’d stay here again. Jerry Seinfeld stayed here.

We stayed here for a funeral that was being held in Mayfield. The hotel was older but was still in relatively good condition. The worst part about it was that the hotel smelled like lysol/disinfectant. The room didn’t smell so heavily as the hallways/lobby but there was a faint smell. The room seemed to have just gotten a fresh coat of paint. When we first arrived the rooms were hot but the airconditioner cooled off the room relatively quickly. We stayed in the only suite in the hotel, a living room area with a couch with a fold out bed, a coffee table, two end tables, a single chair, a desk, and an older TV. The bed in the couch was not the best(mattress was kind of thin), no pillows were included for that bed, luckily we brought our own. The bedroom was a little cramped, a kind size bed, dresser/tv stand, desk, a floor lamp, and one nightstand. I liked the two sinks in the room, one inside and one outside of the bathroom.

The most remarkable thing about this largely unremarkable place is that Jerry Seinfeld spent the night. You’ll find the evidence of this epic event in a framed assemblage near the front door that holds a newspaper article, autograph, and room key. I don’t doubt the authenticity of Seinfeld’s visit: I remember a TV documentary in which JS trekked cross country in a VW bug, and a quick Google search suggests that he has made many such trips. We stayed here in association with homecoming at Murray State, since motels near the university were full more than two months in advance. Mayfield is a pleasant 20– to 30-minute drive away, though on October evenings/mornings it’s wise to remain vigilant for deer crossings. Our room was clean, the interior was in good shape(currently, the exterior is receiving a makeover), we received fine service, and it was quiet enough for uninterrupted sleep. The breakfast area is small but adequate, and they don’t let the Folgers brew run low. I would have no hesitation staying here again. Next time, I may even ask for the Seinfeld Suite.
