This is a brand new restaurant here in town. First let me start with the good things about this place. First the restaurant itself looks great. The booths are big and comfortable even for larger people such as myself and just overall it looks like a $ 15-$ 25 a person place. Next the meat’s are fantastic. I had the sliced brisket and it was perfectly made, the other member of my party had the pork spare ribs, they were very meaty and fall off the bone tender. They had to be eaten with a fork because there is no way you could eat them off the bone because they were so tender. This however was the last bit of good we had. To start we did have a wait but it wasn’t too long. What made the wait bad was how utterly unorganized the staff was. No one seemed to have any idea what anyone else was doing. Watch any given, Kitchen Nightmares, Restaurant Impossible type show where they have huge issues on the front end and you have this place’s front end in a nutshell. Service was exceedingly slow once we were seated. The sides were so so at best. I had the baked sweet potato and the collard greens. The potato was on the small side but cooked and the collards were just kind of there with no real flavor to them. The other member of my party also had the sweet potato but got the stewed apples instead. Her sweet potato was not cooked all the way through and her apples lacked enough sugar and too much cinnamon. For dessert we split the baked apple dumpling. After it was taking a bit to get, the server informed us that due to the fact it was a frozen apple dumpling they needed to bake it extra slow to ensure it was fully cooked, it was still frozen when we got it despite the extra bake time. Finally to cap this evening off, when we went to pay, we had to wait for the lady at the register to finishing watching a part of the game that was on tv before she would ring us up. To sum it up, I see potential for this place IF they start fixing things up. However, if it continues to operate as it is, especially at its price point in an area that complains that a Huddle House is too expensive, then I do not see it lasting more then a few months.
