Service was great but food was a huge disappointment. Clams casino were filled with an overbearing amount of greasy peppers and onions. My sautéed shrimp entrée was served in a bed of oil. Dessert was a cannoli whose filling had quarter inch chunks of what looked like gelatin. Don’t think we’ll be returning here any time soon :(

I’m a recently retired Chef(Master Chef Theatre, Judge on Chopped…) who was part of the Crossroads event last evening. Professionally speaking, I thought you’d want to know. * Six guests became sick overnight, they were in the front of the line and ate from the first round of food. * The server assigned to the room/event held up the wall all night, waited till the food ran out to in the kitchen and tell them they needed more. SHEHADONEJOB! * No Rollatini was prepped, took 20+ minutes * Balls of dry, medium well beef, no au jus or gravy? UGLY presentation. * all three serving spoons were slotted, what jus there was in the bottom was unobtainable. * Dessert… cookies out of a box… seriously?! Even for the Jersey Shore were the bar is set pretty low, this was embarrassing. With 30+ guests, the damage they can do to your business is impossible to measure.

Awesome local place! I’ve been coming to the place since their old location and it just keeps getting better. The food is genuine Italian food that is amazing. The staff is amazing and our favorite bartender cyndi is the best around. Great daily specials and an unbeatable happy hour. Wednesdays and Saturdays are the best nights

Salad good, mixed veggies good, wine good… that’s where it ends. Had roasted potatoes that were cold and mediocre at best… rib eye steak was so over salted I took two bites. Never asked what was wrong with it by the server. I do not send food back to a kitchen, I know better. Will never go back, horrible experience.

Great place to eat or just drink. The food is excellent and the prices are great. The bartenders are very friendly and the prices are excellent. I get a big mug of Yengling for $ 2.50, great price. Place is always busy and Don Mario is the best. Love it there!

I’ve been here many times, but last night will be the last time. Stood at the front door with a bunch of others waiting for tables — that were empty. They wouldn’t seat us because«the kitchen wasn’t ready». Say what? They finally seated us at a table that had been empty from the time we walked in. We stood there for ½ hour before they seated us. At least let us get off our feet and order a drink. We would understand if they said, «We’re very busy tonight and it may be awhile because the kitchen is backed up, but we can at least get you seated you in the meantime.» I would have accepted that. But if you have 8 people waiting for tables that are empty and you refuse to seat them because the kitchen can’t accomodate them, then either you need a bigger kitchen, more kitchen staff, of a smaller restaurant. Then I went to order. I asked for pasta with veggies. As a vegan there were no vegan options, and I’ve ordered this in the past. But alas, they were too busy to take any special orders. Our waiter did go get the manager to come over. In the meantime, I saw a spinach salad with shrimp and asked if I could order that without the shrimp. The manager said that would be fine. I then asked if I would be charged the same price without the shrimp. She assured me that I wouldn’t be charged. My date ordered a crab cake and said it tasted funny. He wound up with with a queasy/upset stomach a little later and still felt unwell the following day. Lo and behold, when the bill came, there was te charge for my spinach salad WITH the shrimp. We were in a hurry and our waiter disappeared, so we paid and left but let the hostess know. To top it off, I mentioned I was vegan and they must have sauteed the onions for the salad with the shrimp and then removed out the shrimp, because all I could taste were shrimp. Either that or they forgot when they prepared the order and just removed the shrimp from the salad afterwards. Not good! I find it hard to believe, that with as many people who are vegan these days(and there are many more than most people realize), I wouldn’t have to make a «special reguest». There would be at least a vegan option or two on the menu, Just sayin’.

This was my first time ordering delivery from here. The pizza was decent which is even hard to find around here. The calamari was pretty bad. But the stuffed mushroom was good, a little flavorless. I’d definitely say it was over priced. Expect the pizza. If I went back I’d get pizza and maybe try different things.

Went here with the snooty Margate friend. Very nice place… we loved the woman who brought the beverages and were sad that she wasn’t our server… instead it was some surfer dude. He was nice, just not as much fun as the beverage woman. I ordered the Fried Calimari and the«Endless Soup and Salad.» The Fried Calimari was enough for a full meal! I think what they meant by «endless» is that the salad came in a huge bowl, but no one ever asked me if I wanted more of either… not gonna lie, could have had another bowl of NE Clam Chowder… it was good! Paying was a very slow procedure… though it may have been our fault as we were waving cash and then decided on a credit card. Looking forward to coming back to check out the«Date Night» specials, the don’t have to know that Miss Margate and I are are just budget conscious and not a couple ;)

I used to go to it for the salad bar when next to the cvs in mayslanding. now its in a beautiful building with a bar and banquet hall. the take out pizza shop is next door now My bf and I went last night(sunday night). we went to another bar for a burger and it had a band and was way too loud so we left there. I’m certainly glad we left the other place and went to Cousin Marios in mayslanding What we discovered at cousin Mario’s was a beautiful place with fabulous food. They by far exceed all expectations for pasta. My boyfriend had the what is REAL homemade raviolis in a spectacular sauce. the sauce.gravy. .lolss is a bright red meatless sauce it was out of this world! The homemade raviolis are a very light And fluffy dough. I make raviolis and pasta and sauce the recipe there out shines anyone elses around this area. I ordered the chicken quesadillas they were also really delicious. The waiter was a little strange very young very antsy He fiddle a lot with his hands to the point on the 3 stoogles with the finger snapping and hand clapping. He kept getting lost too. lolss I will most definitely be back there again and bring friends. Monday nights they have mussles. have to try this. .

Ok so I have been asked to go here many times and finally I gave in. Turns out it was everything I was afraid it was and more. Clam chowder was salty and just bit good. Bread was small and doughy. Eggplant parm. I swear came frozen and pre breaded out of the freezer. And it said«specialty» on the menu… Fresh green beans were just about raw. I live my veggies al dente but these were ridiculous. I didn’t taste my friends crab cake but I could see there was no lump crab meat in it by looking at it. The server was a young guy and I think he was unhappy that we asked for the early bird menu. It was 4:45 and we had out little girls out for graduation dinner. Of course his attitude improved when he presented the check but up until then it was poor. Atmosphere was depressing. I know it was early but the place just felt dead, dusty and dirty. Thank god I didn’t have to pay. Never again.

We’ve been to this restaurant a few times. The food & service are just ok & it’s clean. We made the mistake of bringing friends there for a farewell dinner before they move to Florida. We were embarrassed we recommended it. The waitress stood at the head of the table yelling to each of us for our orders. Then kept yelling back because she couldn’t hear us!!! I’m pretty sure her job is to walk over to each of us. One of us ordered Coke, she bought out Pepsi w/o informing us it wasn’t Coke… none of us drink Pepsi. She forgot to bring soup to one in our party. Two others ordered a baked potato w/their dinners… they were served a ½ potato… the chef literally split one potato down the middle for two dinners!!! How cheap! Two dinners had large chunk of broccoli, not cut or trimmed. Prime rib was burnt, pork chop dry, pasta salad & cole slaw inedible. Then waitress throws bill at us, while I was counting money she came over to ask me if I had it all together yet!!! Then did it again a minute later. We will not be back.

I have tried several aspects of this place. As a pizza place, restaurant, and bar. The only one I can really recommend is the bar. This is a decent pizza place but plenty of better options out there. As a restaurant they have plenty of the usual Italian options, but again, plenty of better options out there-kind of bland. If you are going to pay to eat Italian food at a restaurant it should feel like something you couldn’t easily make at home from a jar. However, this is a great place for happy hour. Inexpensive house wine, drink specials and apps.

My father and i stopped here to get some take out food and a drink. when we got there we waited for a good 25 minutes until a waitress took our drink order. service overall was poor at best. i ordered two stromboli’s and a pulled pork sandwich to go. My fathers sandwich came out to the table 25 minutes before the stromboli. very odd and then it got cold. i actually let a manager and the server know. believe it or not, the manager actually gave us an attitude. they blamed a cold oven for the delay with no apology. However, the food was half decent but we will never return. Hope this helps. They would have received one star but the food moved it up to two.

Have been here many time for Happy Hour and have had a good time with descent food. We thought we’d try dinner this time. Our mistake. I must start out by saying despite a service mistake, the staff was very friendly, which was the only reason I gave it two stars instead of one. I noticed that the seafood cioppino didn’t come with a side of vegetables so I ordered one of my favorite sides; broccoli rabe. However, instead of coming out during my meal they brought it out as an appetizer; a mistake, but not a deal breaker. The problem was the broccoli rabe itself, so much salt that it almost took away from the entire taste. It was sauteed in garlic like most places serve it, but the salt was just way too much. Next came my clam chowder; very little flavor. My main course, as I said earlier, was the seafood cioppino. It came out with a nice portion of shellfish with bits(and I do mean bits) of crabmeat. I ordered the sauce fri diablo which usually indicates that it will have some kick to it. Not much kick at all. The sauce, like the chowder, didn’t have much flavor. My wife had the pork chops which she said was good, but nothing special. She also cut off a small plate full of fat. She also got a salad which she thought was ok, but the tomatoes tasted terrible. Probably will still continue to go to the bar at Happy Hour, but we’ll skip the dinner from now on.

To call this place a pizzeria is doing a disservice to what it actually is. It is a top notch Italian restaurant that rivals any you would find traveling to Hammonton, Philly or AC. My favorite dish is the Pasta Rollatini. The eggplant is sliced thin with crispy edges and the ricotta cheese is flavored perfectly. My friend ordered the seafood risotto and it looked amazing as well. I always save room for dessert so I can share a fresh filled cannoli or crème brûlée. In addition they have brunch on Sunday mornings. I tried the Stuffed French Toast. It was sweet & crispy on the outside with a warm raspberry cream cheese filling. In short, it was heavenly. I wish I was better at writing reviews because this place deserves a really great one. Let me sum it up by saying that if you find yourself in the area I promise you will not be disappointed with your experience at Cousin Mario’s.

I wish Mario was my cousin. That way I could tell him in person that I walked away with an unexpected excellent first impression of his little unassuming pseudo strip mallish Italian restaurant. Live music, reasonable specials and a decent atmosphere.
