We like fondue and have accepted that fondue joints are overpriced. I don’t know why, but they are. I looked forward to the opening of this place. When it did, I treated Gert for a dinner. We opted for the four-course meal. Most of the main courses have an oil base instead of a broth. That is a big turn off. Another turn off for us was the restaurant was like an ice box. As one who usually enjoys a cool atmosphere, I was sat there shivering. Nevertheless, eating fondue is fun and one will have fun here. It’s closer than the Melting Pot to us who are inland. Ask for Jesse when you go.

Walked into the restuarant we were greeted with respect which was refreshing to witness. The server«Jessie» was very helpful in explaining the menu. Our food was plentiful and our experience was awesome. It is expensive about $ 65 per person and with my 6 kids and wife that’s one hell of a bill. Definitly worth every penny. The ambiance is urban and the backgound music is Euro Techno. Good times, Good times.

This place is one of my favorites and I think it deserves a little more credit! Surprisingly romantic atmosphere inside for a nice dinner, although you wouldn’t know from the outside. The servers are well trained and very professional. The salads are wonderful(all of them) and the we enjoyed our appetizers very much each visit. Favorites were the Pepper Jack and the Italian Cheeses. The entrees are a little confusing and I can see why some people find it uncomfortable to keep eating fried meats. On the other hand, the quality is still very nice and the desserts are spectacular. Can’t go wrong with any one of them. Also, the cocktails are endless for choosing and there’s originallity involved. The place is pricey but it‘s all worth it. Make sure you bring somebody you love to spend time with because Simply Fondue should be enjoyed and not rushed. It‘s a classy place where you can dress up nice and have fancy night out. The owner was really nice by offering a complimentary Birthday Cake Martini decorated with a little candle!!! It was really cool! It‘s really for aristocrats and open-minded people who can appreciate something out of the ordinary!

Why are they still printing your entire credit card number and expiration on receipts? Horrified to see that this basic consumer protection, in place at all NJ outlets since 2007, is still being ignored here. I will not be visiting here again…

Went to Simply Fondue for our 10-year anniversary and had another great experience. We went for the four course meal which included the salad, cheese fondue, meat fondue and dessert fondue. Our server, who was relatively new to Simply Fondue, was SENSATIONAL and really made our evening special. I got the Spinach and Strawberry Salad again and it was just as I remembered it– perfect! For the cheese course, our server convinced me that since my husband was unititiated he might enjoy the cheddar fondue rather than the swiss. It was good advice. My only complaint is that the bread was a little stale when it came out. But there were so many veggies to choose from, we couldn’t have possibly finished the course any way, so we didn’t miss the bread. Next was the meat course, which was a first for me. It was… interesting. It took us a while to get a hang of it, but after a few botched attempts we started to enjoy ourselves. You get a pot of hot oil, a soft herbed cheese for stuffing and a frying batter for coating. For this course, instead of choosing your dip, you choose your meats. My husband chose seafoody items and I opted for pork and chicken cordon bleu. We got a large tray of items which also included veggies(such as zucchini and stuffed mushrooms) and once again we couldn’t finish everything. This part of the meal took the longest. If you aren’t open-minded and there to have fun, you might find this part of the meal frustrating. We had a blast! Finally, although we were totally stuffed we made an attempt to attack the dessert course. We opted for the raspberry dark chocolate fondue which we felt would compliment the largely sweet assortment dippers we were given. I wish there were more salty items and fresh fruit because after 3 courses, a few drinks, and a tray full of marshmallows, brownies, angel food cake and a bunch of other sweets, it’s pretty hard to make a dent in the offerings. Everything on the tray was SO delicious, it felt sacriligious to leave anything to waste. We were also given a complimentary wedge of cheesecake in honor of our anniversary, so there was no hope we would finish the entire course. That coupled with the two INCREDIBLE chocolate martinis I sucked down and I was waaaaaaaaay over my calorie limit for the day. Simply Fondue makes THEBEST chocolate martini I’ve ever had(and it had better be to justify the $ 10 price tag.) I can’t wait to go back on ladies night and toss back a few more for half the price. Can’t wait!

A friend and I went here for dinner, and it was a FonDON’T. The first course was the cheese course. We opted for the«Swiss Chalet» fondue. The server threw some grated(supposed) Gruyère into the pot, then a possibly poisonous amount of nutmeg in it, then a little bit of garlic, then a little bit of brandy. He stirred it up, gave us a cup filled with green apple slices, a cup of broccoli and cauliflower, and a big bowl of bread chunks, some of which were beginning to stale. The cheese tasted like soap. Nutmeg soap. Over the course of our dinner, we each ordered two classic Stoli martinis. We could get a special olive in our drinks. I chose the blue cheese stuffed olive, and it may have been the best thing I ate all night. For the main course, we had six types of raw meat: Beef tenderloin, salmon, chicken cordon bleu, honey almond chicken, scallops and some peppery pork tenderloin. We had six dipping sauces, and I forget what they were. They all tasted like McNugget sauces. Atop the meat were, inexplicably, two cheese raviolis which tasted like they’d sat, uncovered, in the fridge for a day or two. There were mushrooms and jalapeño rings stuffed with cheese that looked and tasted like they came straight from the local mall’s Hickory Farms kiosk. There were two types of batter that tasted like, like, nothing, really. The server heated up a small pot of peanut oil and told us that we were REQUIRED to put batter on certain items. Say what? The fourth and final course was the chocolate fondue accompanied by fruit and little cakes. The fruit was good, but the cakes tasted of the refrigerator. This is a meal designed for masochists. It takes forEVER to finish because you have to cook the bits of meat for about two whole minutes. After all that cooking, the payoff isn’t very good. It was fun at first, but it quickly became tedious. I was happy when we were done. Until we got the bill, which was, with tip, $ 160. HOW? Oh, yeah, $ 42 for four drinks plus two cups of coffee with dessert, plus 7% tax plus 20% tip(the server was great and it wasn’t HIS fault the food was kinda sucky). It adds up. I don’t mind paying $ 160 for a good dinner, but for a mediocre one where I had to do all the cooking, $ 160 is pretty steep.
