It’s not that I have anything against China, or Taiwan, Mexico, Sri Lanka, or any of the other nations around the world where my stuff gets made, but all else being equal, and I’d pick something made in America. That being said, I don’t often get the chance. Then there are companies like Wald; they make a few bicycle parts, and they make them well, they make them in Kentucky, and they sell them for cheap. Really, how can you not like them, they make handlebars just as good as those made in Taiwan, but for half the price. Their baskets are just about standard on every beach cruiser in this country. I don’t think they make anything to adorn your carbon fibre race machine, but for a cheap, durable urban bike, Wald goods are just the ticket.
