McDonald’s

I went to this McDonalds located in Maywood il on Roosevelt and 5^th Ave. I purchase two side salad through the drive thru get home and realize that the salad has expired at 2:21 p.m. and when I purchased the salads it was like 8:30 p.m. at night they pull one of the labels off so I can’t tell that the salad was expired the other salad had an expired date on the salad that said enjoy by 2:21 p.m. and as I stated I purchased the salads 8:30 p.m. took both salads back just to be ignored by the managers and there was two managers on shift and no one could tell me why they sold me out dated salads and pull the label off of the other salad the first manager name shantel an the other manager Roxxy the manager shantel seems a little confused about the situation couldn’t explain to me what happened or why but she did say that she will get to find out what happen then just walked away didn’t explain to me if she was going to make another salad give me a refund just walked away I asked the 2^nd manager can she please give me the number to corporate she claims there is no corporate an give me a cup. I then asked the manager shantel to give me both managers on duty full names the manager shantel didn’t have a problem with giving me her name an her manager name but the manager Roxxy began to get angry and ask the other manager what you need my name for then she said its Roxxy the manager shantel says what’s your last name she said dela Cruz the manager shantel ask how do you spell that she say spell it how you WANT very unprofessional and when she realized that I recorded from the time I walked in to the time she was being nasty about the situation then she began to spell her last name to the other manager… expired salads then a nasty attitude… And I’m a paying customer

For now I’m revising my 1 star rating to 2 stars. The company did get back to me and was very apologetic for the experience. This particular location that McDonalds is sitting on is a freaking GOLD MINE. It is right outside the Hines VA campus! Patients, Visitors, Doctors, Nurses, and numerous other employees on that campus alone is ridiculous! They cannot afford to have attitude on the other side of the counter.
They have sent me two free medium extra value meal coupons as an apology so the next time I go to the VA we’ll se if the attitude has changed.

I would normally not review McDonalds, but this particular location right across VA Hines is one of the cleanest locations. The girl at the counter Michelle was extremely helpful, got my big order in less than a few minutes.

Just a quick note… it’s McDonalds, it doesn’t really need to be reviewed on Unilocal.HOWEVER, if you haven’t tried the McCafe coffee, you must. I am a huge fan of Starbucks iced coffee (proof: I think I’m the duke of like 2 Starbucks in my neighborhood), but you must try the McDonald’s iced coffee. It’s just as good as Starbucks and costs like $ 1.25 less for the large. I honestly don’t think I could tell the difference in a blind taste test.
Otherwise you shouldn’t eat McDonalds. It’s bad for you, bad for the Earth, and bad for the people that work there :)

I’m generally not a McDonald’s diner, but on a few occasions… when I’m hungry [in the a.m., on my way to the j/​o/​b], I’ve stopped at this newly built Mickey Ds [via the drive-​thru} for something to satisfy my stomach.
This location sits on the northwest corner of Roosevelt & 5^th Avenue, which is kind of tricky. Why? Well, only exit the parking lot at the Roosevelt exit, if you’ll be heading west. It’s best/​safer if you’re going north, east or south… to exit the p. lot out of the 5^th Ave. exit. Either way, be cautious because Roosevelt Road is a mutha (cars speeding like they’re on the frickin’ highway!).
BTW, as far as chow, I like the Egg White Delight {$ 4.89}, SANS the white cheddar cheese. re: MD’s hash browns and coffee, I’m not really a fan of, but I usually get the meal anyways :/
