YMCA At Maywood Center

So far really great I’ve been coming here for about two weeks now and I’ve had a great experience. The staff is and lifeguards are very welcoming. Machines are great always clean and there’s always a spray in the area to wipe them up yourself. So there’s no reason why you should feel nasty about the machines and sweat. The people there go to do what they’re there for. No ones there criticizing or starring at what you do (So far) but overall very comfortable place.

My rate is 4. Here’s why:
Cons:
— minus 1 point because they don’t have an indoor pool. Which is so disappointing.
Pros:
–the location is great. I was expecting a run down building like Downey. But I was surprised to see a beautiful, clean building thats just as nice on the inside.
–the pricing for a family membership is great. $ 57 per month for me, hubby, and 2 kids. They charge $ 50 for an initiation fee plus the first month fee of $ 57 when you sign up. They had a promotion with just $ 50 start up for the month of September. Great! I was almost sold…
Then I realized they have an outdoor pool. Booo! They need to fix this, as my family are swimmers and its a necessity for us to have access to a pool all year round. This is the ONLY reason why we didn’t sign up. What a pity. Because I’d hate to sign up at the Downey location. Too expensive and not as nice as this location. :/​
***update: after much debate, we decided to sign up here because of the location, close to our home, and price (oh and look). We have resolved our pool issue, we will just go to south gate in the meantime. But seriously they need to make the pool indoors! I will form a complaint/​suggestio.***
