Aguilar Music Studio

Mr. Aguilar has been teaching our teenage son guitar for about 6 months now. Mr. Aguilar is so very sharp and professional as another reviewer stated — I believe this is the exact description of him. His skill at playing instruments is superb — when sitting there he can just start playing ANYTHING just off of the top of his head– it is impressive.
We enjoy conversing with him so very much. Excellent teacher!

Carlos is an extremely patient teacher with a wealth of music knowledge. He stays booked, but exhibits flexibility with scheduling. My daughter and I both take lessons from him. He is interesting and provides music theory, not just mechanics of playing an instrument.

Someone asked me if I could recommend anyone for teaching their kid guitar lessons. I am 30 years old and I took bass and guitar lessons when I was in middle school from Carlos Aguilar and I wondered if my old teacher was still around. I looked him up and he is still in Mckinney in the same building! Now that I’ve grown up, it’s obvious to me that he is a genius. Very sharp and very professional. When I worked with him, music was his full time job… he would play classical guitar at weddings and special events and also teach lessons in piano, bass, banjo and guitar all day. (probably other stuff too). Since I was new to bass and guitar, he started by getting me hooked on playing simple songs I actually wanted to learn (Nirvana etc), and slowly integrating in all that boring music theory stuff. I still love rocking out to some rock music and I have Carlos to thank. I highly recommend him.
