This is the ONLY place we will order Chinese from. The orange chicken is consistently fantastic. The egg drop soup is really good, and the service is excellent. They do take a bit longer to deliver, and it can be pricey, but anytime we have ordered Chinese food from another restaurant, we’ve been disappointed.

Used to love this place, but now, it’s not even worth it. Either they’ve gotten lazy or new ownership. I ordered the crab ragoon and basically got a wonton with cream cheese. All the food was very bland and generic. Wish they would go back to what they used to be.

*****edit: husband likes this place so I got dragged back yesterday for lunch. Decided to try Hunan beef and because anyone who knows me knows I like my stuff SPICY, I asked for them to make it as spicy as possible. I probably reiterated it three times. Hot and sour soup that came with lunch still sucks. I’d rather have Pei Weis. At least that one has some sour to it. I’m convinced anyone who thinks this is decent soup needs to be shown good soup. Moving on to the entrée, I applaud the use of better veggies at this place, but the flavor falls flat. No spice at all. All I could taste was soy. My husband loves this place because A) McKinney sucks at Chinese food and this place is less greasy than others. He likes blander food, so I get why he likes this place. I like the service here and the little things they add with lunch(chicken wing and egg roll) are good, but this isn’t my go to for anything. Meh. The hot and sour soup you guys raved about sucked. I’m not sure if it’s because you guys aren’t aware of what it should taste like, or if it was just a bad batch, but that soup wasn’t hot nor sour. Sunrise(now a sucky place called First Chinese BBQ) had amazing soup, so I’m trying to find the best around. This wasn’t it. No mushrooms, no kick. It needs a ton more vinegar and spice. I ordered the Kung Pao shrimp and I asked to make it extra spicy, which he said was no problem. Again: no spice. It was oily and just blah. The search continues. The service was fine, our waiter nice. The older owner at the front decided it was a great time and place to juice oranges with an electric loud ass juicer. Can you not do that in the back? Also, if you eat inside the lunch special includes soup, yet if I order the same thing to go, I don’t? Stupid. Won’t be back, nor order take out. Wasn’t worth it.

I used to love this place but they have changed their recipes or maybe even owners. The hot and sour soup is no longer good, in fact it’s made me sick the last couple times. The food used to be fresh but they have made some negative changes for sure. I used to order here several times a month now I’m searching for a new place. Disappointed

This place has gone down hill. They never greet you or say thank you. The food has no taste anymore.

The food had always been ok here, pretty fast and consistent. Nothing to write home about. However, we called at 9:36(they close at 10). They said they had no driver, could we pick it up? Sure. Pick it up, get it home, it’s ice cold. The rice is fried, but how on earth could it be this brown, but bland? How is there no salt to it? Terrible. An $ 18 skinny duck, about 8 cashews in my chicken. Look, unless you’re going to charge me half price, don’t sell me this junk when I was friendly enough to order anyway to pick up(I wanted delivery), because I spent $ 35 and my stomach is still paying for it. We had been consistent customers, but we won’t be back. Complaints aren’t handled at this place.

Service was good. The people were very accomodating and nice. Food was great. We had the sizzling steak and it was very good. Imperial fried rice was awesome as well and the egh drop soup was to die for.

Best, most reliable place for Chinese in McKinney. Chinese BBQ down the street is giving them a run for their money with some very good dishes. Hot and Sour soup is better at the Imperial as of the time I did this review. Thanks for being consistently good!

My boyfriend and I went in there and ate at the restaurant. The ambience wasn’t too bad. We started off with some egg drop soup. I’ll have to say it was so yummy! It was fresh and the aroma of the eggs was nothing I’ve had before. We also got some of their spring rolls. They were decent size and had some good flavor. The waiter told us it was homemade everyday. Wow! Definitely better than those other buffet kind of egg rolls with the thicker skin. We then got our main dishes. I ordered the Ginger Duck and my boyfriend ordered the Orange Chicken. We also got a Roast BBQ Fried Rice. The duck platter was delicious. There were good chunks of duck meat with plenty of vegetables. The sauce was a dark gravy, which I love to mix it in with my rice. Excellent dish overall. I was pretty satisfied with a very full tummy. The orange chicken was delicious as well. A little spice to kick the flavor and it wasn’t too crispy. The fried rice was not too oily with just the right amount of meat. The pork tasted great too! Overall, this is the best Chinese restaurant in Mckinney. I’ve been to most of them and by far, this restaurant has the quality of food that would make me a repeat customer.

This is what dining out can be. Attentive, large portions, hot and fresh. Maybe a little expensive. But the lunches are perfect. Carryout is quick. They do deliver but expect 45 to 1 hour wait on week nights… better to get cleaned up and go in for a nice sit down.

Ordered a significant amount of food, size«Large»… We paid $ 27 for two dishes and they were tiny compared to portions we’ve had from other Chinese food restaurants in the area for the same price. It was not what we were expecting and we were disappointed, to say the least. The food was average tasting and not the best around by far!

Hands down the best chinese food in the area. Egg Rolls are amazing! Lunch specials are great but be sure to check out the rest of the menu because they have some really excellent options. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

We grabbed takeout from here last night and I was really impressed. I liked most of their food dishes, great flavor. I do have one thing to say though… do not order in advance if you live too far away. They had the food done so fast that by the time I got home with it, it was a tad cold.

I’ve tried many Chinese restaurants in McKinney, TX and Imperial Garden has the biggest selection of food, best home made noodles(both crispy and soft), and the quickest delivery time. I’ve never been disappointed by Imperial Garden yet.

$ 14.00 for orange chicken!!! Ridiculous. The chicken was extremely chewy to make matters worse! #NeverAgain

I’ve been here twice, and it’s been delicious both times! The staff was courteous, and the prices were reasonable, given the size of the portions.

Customer service was amazing. The server even noticed that I was picking the peas and carrots out of my rice and suggested next time I can order it without them. Restaurant was very clean. I loved everything I ordered. Egg foo young was perfect. Hot and sour soup was so good. I love that they added chicken to it. The egg rolls also good. I left full and happy. I highly recommend.

I got the bean curd with vegetable stir fry and veggie lo mein. The lo mein was not my cup of tea but the veggie stir fry was really hot and fresh. Lots of different vegetables. I could have done without the bean curd. It was just too saucy and salty. I ordered for pickup and my food was ready in ten minutes, so that’s good. Kind of overpriced tho.

The chicken fried rice at this place is spectacular. Very clean restaurant with attentive staff. Finally found a place with good Cantonese style cooking so that I don’t have to go to Richardson.

This is one of those chinese restaurants that is what it is: a family owned chinese place with great, inexpensive food that can be great for a quick carry out order. We ordered the spicy broccoli and garlic entrée and the spicy greenbeans and water chestnuts entrée, some crab ragoons, and egg drop soup and all were up to par. Well, maybe not the egg drop soup. We got that entrée because the hot and sour soup came with chicken meat in it. That’s the one gripe that I have about this restaurant. The things you can order without meat are very limited, something that stands out from the other asian restaurants that I frequent. Don’t let the empty parking lot intimidate you. This place is pretty great for the $.
