That Elegant Touch Salon & Day Spa

Brought my 9.5 year old daughter in to get highlights before the new school years starts. Haley greeted us with a warm and friendly smile. We weren’t completely sure what we wanted to do with her dark brown hair but my daughter desperately wishes for blonde locks. I showed Haley a couple of photos and in the end, the color was gorgeous. My daughter and I love the color! Will be back in about 8 weeks!

Elegant Touch is a clean, nice looking establishment that I am sure has the capacity of doing lovely work. My hope is that more training becomes available to new young stylists because of honest reviews like this one.
As a new customer I was booked with a young lady that was a new stylist. I brought pictures and showed her exactly what it was that I was wanting. I walked out looking like a zebra. I have dark hair and the highlights were such a pale blond that it looked horrific. I let it sit for a day to see if I could get used to it. I called and they rescheduled me to get more toner to help those light pieces/​stripes. The stylist told me «it didn’t look like this when you left». It most clearly did, and all I wanted was to fix it.
After two more attempts to fix it there was some change, but not enough. I ended up coloring over the terrible highlights at home with a box from the store. It cost me even more to fix it, they do not do refunds and I had no interest in returning after the treatment I had received.
Sadly, a trim and that highlight cost me $ 150. I also ended up cutting my own hair since her attempt was terrible.
This was not a good experience, I recommend asking for a more seasoned stylist or one that you know has a good record with a friend.

Hayley’s been doing my color for the last 6 months or so and before then I was doing my own. She has definitely transformed my color into what I wanted with minimal damage and dryness. She’s my favorite!

I came to That Elegant Touch one time in high school and left overly satisfied; however, at the time, it was hard for me to justify spending more than $ 20 on a haircut (yikes!). I went back to frequenting cheap-​ish «salons» around town, always feeling apathetic toward the my hair.
Fast-​forward eight years, and I am a recent graduate who’s just returned home from a year-​long escapade in New York City. After being accustomed to such high-​quality hair care (at an absurd cost), I was apprehensive to try a new salon near good ol’ McKinney. I let my hair grow wildly, until I could no longer take the dry, dead, static-​attracting ends, and finally caved. In my time of desperation, I remembered how elated I had been with my one-​time experience at That Elegant Touch. I apprehensively scheduled an appointment.
Let me start off by saying, Ashley — you’re my girl. I came in, having no idea what I wanted (or needed) to do with my unkempt mess of hair. «Fix me,» I pleaded. Ashley, who I’d never met, smiled and asked what, if anything, I had in mind. I stammered off some kind of «Ireallyhavenoidea myhairissuchamess whatdoyouthinkIshoulddo?». After talking with her for a few minutes — hearing her input, and exploring our options — I finally said, «Have at it — I trust you.»
And I was right to trust her; my hair turned out perfectly (not an exaggeration). Every hair-​related experience I’ve had with this salon has been undeniably satisfying. While I can’t attest to the Spa-​side of this facility, I will continue to recommend That Elegant Touch to anyone in need of a new salon.

Best haircut of my life! Samantha R. was professional, knowledgable, and above all else talented! I brought in a picture of a cut I liked and she blew away my expectations. I will be back again for sure!

Booked a pedi here for my 92 YO momma and they went out of their way to schedule plenty of time so she would not be rushed. Amazing job… we’ll be back!

I had a massage from Mary that was outstanding. Deep tissue. A fabulous technician.

Had three very positive experiences at this salon in recent weeks. Experienced two fabulous massage therapists — Daniel and Mary are both terrific if you like deep tissue. I can’t wait to go back!
Also had a good haircut there from Ashley. She is quite knowledgeable about how to help my «bad hair»!

I have had several services from this spa and loved all. The facials are extremely relaxing, and the massage was heaven! I really needed to feel pampered and relaxed, «That Elegant Touch» provided that and much more!

Prices are very reasonable, but I had one bad experience. Stylist did a full highlight instead of a partial (which I wanted) and fried my hair with peroxided highlights. I left a little stripey looking — which I know some people like. The cuts had been great until this day, when the stylist rushed through and left the ends pretty rough.
That said, I went here for a year and loved it. If you need a place in McKinney for less than $ 50, then you might try this out. Me? I’ll be driving a little further for something a little better.

This is a nice reasonably priced little spa in McKinney. I’ve tried most every spa in the area (massage junkie) and this one wins. Their pedicures and manicures were even featured on the news for being so clean and sterile. Yes, they could use a new name but for an enjoyable spa experience at a reasonable price — and with really nice workers — check it out.
