Okay, we’re back together! There are some newer employees, who all seem quite nice. I’ve been in several times recently — hard to beat the convenience & classy selection of gifts, cards and home goods — and have not seen the employee who was unkind to my son years ago any of these times. Hopefully, she no longer works there. I’m quite fond of this place once again!

I came down to Mclean to visit my aunt and uncle for Thanksgiving and stopped in at Mesmerelda’s. My fiancée couldn’t make it down until Friday evening, so to make up for having not been with her for Thanksgiving itself I wanted to pick up a gift for her. I found a delightful pair of pewter birds that now have pride of place in our apartment. The sales lady was very helpful and when I came up to the register asked me if I would like to have it wrapped. I gladly took her up on the offer, as my gift wrapping skills are unmatched, except perhaps at the local monkey enclosure. She did a great job and I got a very happy fiancée. Overall, I was very pleased with the service and the selection. They have a great variation in stuff available and I will definitely be back again if I’m in the area and need to pick up a gift.

This is an adorable shop for stationery, gifts, glassware and more. I often stop in when I am looking for something different to liven up my house or for a unique gift. At Mesmeralda’s there’s a bunch of fun and functional stuff. On the shelves you’ll find beautiful anniversary clocks, glitto lamps with school logos on them(Virginia schools like UVA and Virginia Tech in particular) and hand blown ornaments such as some under the sea themed ones. There’s also candle holders, handcrafted figurines, whimsical dessert plates and wineglass name tags(file those under«Now, they’ve thought of everything).
