Wonderful wonderful experience! Worth the $ 12. If u check in to Unilocal beforehand, you can get $ 1 off an adult tour. No pictures allowed of the interior. As many pictures as you want of the gardens. Didn’t have any expectations going in. Our tour guide was the southern gents wife and she was so knowledgeable about the history of the house and its occupants. The tour really came alive for us as she walked us through all of the rooms(it’s bigger than it looks!) and in each room she told us the history of the room, the artifacts(some of which could be touched), and the people who used the room. The restoration project is so incredibly impressive! The husband&wife team are so sweet and excellent tour guides. A definite must see if in Mcminnville, TN!

My husband & I retired from Southern, CA to Clarksville, TN. This was one of our Bucket List locations… AWESOME. We will be returning there hopefully soon! We loved every minute we were there. The tour of the Mansion was so informative & the owners put so much love, sweat & tears into this amazing Mansion that is now as it should be. The grounds are freakin amazing. Just Beautiful. it was such a relaxing time! My husband & I stayed in the Governors Mansion & had both our Dinner & Breakfast meals brought to us. The Food was FANTASTIC… the Gift Shop made me really happy…(not my husband because he got the bill… lol), but on a serious note. This is History that should not be missed. Go on the Tour & if you can, STAYTHERE, relax, enjoy the food. You will not be disappointed!!!

Évaluation du lieu : 4 Nashville, TN
On our day off, we stopped for a tour here, just over an hour’s drive from Nashville. We were lucky and had one of the owners as a tour guide since the regular tour guide was off(although I’m sure she is also excellent). The owners bought the place 25 years ago and have been restoring it since. The house is absolutely gorgeous, with the original staircase and woodwork, and is furnished with beautiful period furniture and decorations. As amazing as the house was, the stories we heard about the family and the house were the best part! The history of the Faulkner family and the home are fascinating, and the owners are incredibly well-informed about that era. The gardens are also very pretty. The house and gardens can also be used for weddings and other events, and it would be a great spot for that, particularly in nice weather when the courtyard could be used. We also spent time in the Victorian gift shop, which was unique and not over-priced(in contrast to most gift shops). They have a tea room as well where you can get lunch, but we didn’t try it on this visit. If you’re nearby, definitely drop by and check it out! The tour is about an hour, $ 12/adult, and well worth the money.
