Steak ‘n Shake

Took a little long on the food. Service was friendly and attentive. Place was clean. Pricing was desirable. Location is convenient for those traveling long distance!

Milkshake was excellent., however the hamburger left a lot to be desired, had. Tell the server what we ordered twice even then they got the order wrong. By the time we got the food it was cold. Still would go back for the milkshake

Only one in drive thru 15 plus minutes for a burger and fries seriously and 6 people standing around totally ridiculous last te I come here

When we ordered, the lady could not understand the last order, but we cleared that up. When we got our food, everything was wrong. The Western BBQ Bacon burger had no bacon. One of the burgers had lettucr, when we didn’t want that, had no honey mustard, and had 2 patties, even though we asked for one. On the other burger, it wasn’t even the correct burger.
Will not be coming here again.

How in the heck does this place stay in business? Sit down, order off a menu with a server meal for $ 4?! I mean, I tipped 50% because I felt bad about only paying $ 6 for a drink and delicious burger.

Worth a stop. Good food. Clean and good service. Double burger and fries for $ 4 is a good deal and I like the seasonings for the fries.

I had the portobello and Swiss burger and it was great. Good coffee. My wife and daughter both had huge old fashioned shakes. My wife had the chili and our daughter had a burger and they were good.
We were sitting at the counter so we got to talk to Myrtle working as cashier and also our server Deanna did a great job. Food was really good at a great price and really nice employees. How can you lose?

My first Steak and Shake. Great double burger, fries, and shake. I see now why people like them so much.

I was there on a Sunday at lunchtime, so it was busy. I ordered the double cheeseburger they are famous for, along with fries and a coke. The waitress was friendly and attentive, and kept our glasses filled as we waited.
When our food arrived it was correct and hot. It was also very good.
They have a wide variety of burgers and most can be had in a combo for about $ 5. I like the guacamole burger with pepper jack cheese as well.
They also have real ice cream shakes, about 10 different kinds of deliciousness.
It’s not In N Out, but it ain’t bad.

When I received my food it was cold and the service at this Steak and Shake was horrible I will not be returning.

I love steak n shake! Sorry and unusual to have a poor experience. Wrong shakes, cold burgers and a hot grease shower from the chicken sandwich. People were friendly though.

Great burgers for a pretty good price. The shakes are much bigger inside. Food is always hot and fresh.

Stopped in here to grab a burger and shake, staff greeted me warm and friendly. Made to order to a little over 10 minutes but after eating everything, well worth the wait.

Not impressed at all. The service was terrible. I think we saw our server twice? When we did get our food, it was cold. The only thing I enjoyed was the milk shake. I won’t be going back.

The only thing good was my milk shake, the burger I got was sloppy, and was missing a patty. Very slow service

The stream of repeat customers is proof that McAlester needed a place like this. Steak’n Shake’s quality and value are impressive.
I had no idea what to expect but I didn’t have high expectations. After all, it’s just another fast food chain, right? A group of us dined here on day 3 and we all became fast fans.
I’ve enjoyed the attentive service of dining-​in as well as the convenience of the drive-​through more times than I care to admit. My orders have always been correct and the meals delicious. With each meal I’m torn as to what tastes best; the burger? the fries? or the shake? Guess there is more than one reason this once-​family-​owned-​business became a national chain.
They get bonus points for offering real cheddar cheese.
