Very limited selection of books and like Marina M. said«There are A LOT of Harlequin romances.» The employees were pleasant but the book selection was a major disappointment.

I would say that any city benefits from independent bookstores and McAllen is no exception. Especially when walking into any of the two Barnes and Noble reminds me of Schmidt from New Girl: Aaaaanyways, I was excited about an independent bookstore in McAllen. However, it’s not a very good one. There are A LOT of Harlequin romances. I mean, do people read those? There was only a couple of modern fiction books, which is what I was in search for at the moment I walked in. I was able to nab a copy of Water for Elephants which ended up being le crappy. I should have known it would be, considering that the movie adaptation stars Reese Witherspoon. Of course, the quality of the book in no way influences my rating. It’s the selection(or lack of it, really) of Books-N-Things that’s the problem.
