If anyone asks me for authentic delicious Korean food, this is the only place in McAllen that I would recommended. I’ve been to the others, such as «Suck the money from your wallet» House, and it doesn’t even compare to this place. The lady was very nice, and the food was exactly what I was hoping for. Will definitely return.

I went to this restaurant for the first time last week. We went in for dinner, and to say that the décor is «outdated» is being nice. Other than that, you are sat in a «box» booth and then forgotten about. I only got the one glass of tea, and NEVER got a refill. The waitress only came to our table twice; to get our drink order when we sat down, and to bring us our plates. No refills, no «any questions?»…nothing. As for the food, I would have done better just going to a fast-food place. We ordered a plate of ribs and a plate of beef; both had cheap sauces of liquid smoke and sweet BBQ sauce. Also, the cuts of meat(both) were the lowest grade of meat that you find at the grocery. Other than that, you get a ½ cup of white rice and that’s it. By the way, the rib plate is about the size of your hand, so don’t come here if you’re hungry! Final bill: over $ 40. Never again.

I absolutely LOVE the Soft Tofu Soup! That’s really the only thing I order though… My husband ordered the ribs once and was not very impressed since they were cold. Go during lunch hours for cheaper prices. Very nice family that runs the place and it’s never crowded.

I’ve never tried AUTHENTIC korean food. so I have nothing to compare this place to. but I’ve been here maybe 5 or 6 times in the past. I always go for the spicy pork lunch special, I think it’s $ 6.99. Once I ordered a noodle dish and regretted not going with my usual order of the pork bbq. They have a similar dish with beef, but pork is more flavorful if you ask me. I have a friends who visit from other states like NY and Chicago and they always go for the spicy pork bbq. So. even if it’s not authentic Korean or whatever. it’s a pretty good dish. The dumplings(fried and steamed) are also good. kind of bland. but I’ve never really tried dumplings that weren’t. We ordered a plate and shared it between three people. The lady that serves you only comes by when you order and to deliver your dishes. If you want to get the check, you have to go to the counter, she doesn’t come over(not rude or anything, she’s just giving you and your party your space). Overall a good place to go if you know what you want.

i havent been to any other korean restaurants so i cant compare the food but i also didnt eat very much as im a vegetarian and most of their dishes at the time had meat in them however they did try their best to accommodate me and on the plus side they played really awesome k-pop music :)

What a great place to find down in the valley, I just love coming here the food it always great. The owner is always here, she adds to the character and taste of the place. I look forward to having many more great dishes at the Korea garden

This restaurant may have Korean cooks, but the food does not taste authentic at all. My worst dining experiences in Mcallen have been here. The only edible food here was the Bulgogi, but even that wasn’t very enjoyable to eat. They even messed up on their pickled dishes(complimentary side dishes at the start). If you go to Tokyo market, the packaged pickles/kimchi there are tons better already.

This is one of my go-to restaurants. I take all of my out of town guests here. Surprisingly good for being in the Valley. The staff is friendly and not so overly attentive that you feel like you are being suffocated. My favorite items are the bulgogi, pan fried dumplings, and plum wine. The Korean channel playing on the tv’s make me giggle.

Delicious Korean food here. I had the Bulgogi and it was very good. It can with small side dishes of Kimchi, etc. Nice quiet place, not so busy. Service was mediocre but the food was excellent.

I’m korean and I can tell you this place is horrendous. Maybe they can pass off this food to non koreans, but if ya’ll are looking for some good korean food come to my house. I cook a million times better than the crap they serve here

The best thing they have going for them is that they are the only Korean restaurant in this area. If you want to try Korean food it is definitely a good place to do so but not the best overall Asian cuisine out there. Firstly, there was a lack of clientele, which typically I like but not to the extreme where is it eerily desolate. The restaurant has these traditional cubicle style semi-private areas where you are seated and then forgotten. The staff seems not to know what they are selling on the menu or how to explain what they are selling. Hint: If you are not familiar with Korean dishes in general, you are going to be asking a lot of questions and it is not going to be comfortable when both parties are lost. Also, they sell you sodas in a twelve-ounce can, which in general I believe the business is trying to conduct business, «a la cheapo,» not to mention all the gumball machines, chocolates, and candies they try to push a last second desperate attempt to make another sale at the, «Kwik-E-Mart» style cashier counter. It is always a good way to bring the ambiance of a restaurant down when trying to go for a serious traditional style restaurant by adding a bunch of commercial crap at the cashier counter. Overall, the food was good and I think would give that restaurant another chance at some point.
